We braved the 4th!!! AND the rain...and the crowds??? 7/1-7/8 BOOKED NEXT TRIP!!!!

This was the day we decided to go to DHS but since it's our lease favorite park, we didn't really care what time we got there!

I’m with you on DHS. Since it’s our least favorite park, we’ll be doing it on arrival day.

I had just a few things that I wanted to do at DHS and going to the Animation Studio to meet Lotso Huggin' Bear was one of them!

Lotso may be a villain, but he IS super huggable. I don’t generally do character meets, but I would be tempted to get a huge strawberry-scented hug from him!

I swear, on this walk, I was telling Tom about the deadly, poisonous snakes that are said to live in these bushes and, I kid you not, as the words were coming out of my mouth...look who we spotted!!!!

I wonder if any snake-saavy Disers could identify that snake – I’d be curious to know what it was.

I love Georgina's creations - so cute!

Rubbernecking excitement! I just read a thread about the undercover security at the parks; I am glad something was able to perk up the rain filled entrance. (It is a shame that it was a sad situation for someone else.)

Your dessert party outfit was great especially with your ears! I am sooo glad you were able to book the dessert party. What a wonderful way to spend a rainy night with treats and coffee! (I hope Tom was only under the weather (okay I didn't intend on the pun, but...) for the night.

I hope that you report seeing the sun soon! Otherwise, you will begin next July's thread title with WET instead of HOT!

The treats and coffee definitely helped us deal with the rain. But don't worry...I'm pretty sure that was the last of the rain! :thumbsup2

I love your PP pics at the dessert party!

Thanks! I was so glad there was a pp there!

Your trip report is making me realize how much we haven't done! That dessert party looks and sounds WONDERFUL! Our sons (and my hubby) have to be bribed for PP and character pics now. Those desserts would do the trick :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the AK adventure! popcorn::

Thanks! I try to plan something new and out of the ordinary each trip.

You are adorable in your ears!

So sorry to read about MORE RAIN! Not fun at all. :sad2: Beautiful pictures of the fireworks though, and I think you might have had the same table we did last year! It was excellent! I love that dessert party. Sigh. :cloud9:

I saw your comment back that this was the last of the rain! :yay::yay::yay:

You rule! I'm so glad there is someone else out there who isn't 95 doing logic puzzle books! All my friends and family think I'm nuts! I haven't had one in a while, I think I might need one for the upcoming trip...

Haha! It's so much fun! Math is my thing...

I don't know what kind of snake he was but we named him Sneaky and we were on the lookout for him every time we walked by that spot from then on!

Also, about Lotso....it smells like strawberries in the room but HE doesn't smell like strawberries. Believe me, I took a sniff of the costume and nothing!

Did everybody stay seated for the fireworks or did they get up and stand?

Everybody stayed seated...but from what I've read that was unusual. I think because of the rain, everyone was just beat and stayed in their seats....

I really want to do the Dessert Party, but my family aren't big eaters. DH and I are the ones that can eat, but my kids don't eat much, so I don't get my money's worth. If my DH can go with us, then maybe we will do it next year. It's so worth it just to see the fireworks.

Alright, I think I'm all caught up...

I love your pics with Lotso! I totally stood in line to meet him too! He's just so huggable!!

Paradiso 37 looks REALLY yummy! And I want one of the mangled margaritias! NEXT YEAR I WILL FINALLY BE ABLE TO ORDER ALL OF THE YUMMY DRINKS PEOPLE POST PICTURES OF THAT I AM DYING TO TRY!!!!

Ugh. All that rain is CRAZY. I couldn't handle that much rain. I would go nuts. Being wet makes me so uncomfortable.

The Dessert Party looks like fun. And the food looks AMAZING. I would definitely have to try one of everything if I ever go to one. :rotfl:

Oh goodness. That rain sounds HORRIBLE! I hope it lets up at least one day. Rain starts wearing on you after a while... But your silver ears are SO cute! I'm glad you found them--finally! And the dessert party looks amazing. We tried to book it last year, but both of the nights we wanted were all filled up. Oh--and I love the pics of yall with Lotso! :thumbsup2

Yeah, Tom didn't really eat anything at all so I had to try to eat enough for both of us! He wasn't feeling well so I couldn't really be that upset about it. It was worth it just for the nice place to watch the fireworks.

Welcome back, Kara!! Lotso was very huggable, except for that hard head! Oh just wait until the last two day...you'll have LOTS of ideas for the delicious drinks you'll be able to have next time! Being wet is the WORST!

The rain was just awful. It got better though! Aren't the silver ears the cutest? I was sooo happy to finally find them. :thumbsup2

Great updates! I haven't been on the boards in a few days because I was a bit depressed. I know you'll empathize with me because you went through this as well, but we had to put my cat down. :sad1:

At HS, I couldn't figure out where Tom got the Sangria and that looks good! Where did you get it and was it yummy?

I absolutely LOVE the silver mickey ears!! :thumbsup2

:surfweb:I apologize for hijacking this thread but I need some help with my hair. :goodvibes

I love your hair in the photo above. My hair is as straight as it can be. It always has been. I would love to have my hair look like yours. If I decide to get a perm, I think I will take this photo of you along with me. :)

Her hair is cute isn't it? I think she said it is naturally curly and she has been in denial! Haha. Isn't it funny how people who don't have curly hair want it and people who do, DON'T!

Well, that is a really nice compliment - thank you! Nikki is right, my hair is naturally wavy/curly or whatever I'm willing to admit to at a particular moment. I'm happy to tell you how I style it but it works with the natural waves (the secret to curls/waves is LOTS of product - mousse, gel, spray!). PM me if you really want to hear more.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your cat! I know how horrible it is to lose a beloved pet. It's been almost a year since Jack passed and I still think about him and talk to him every day.

The sangria came from the CS location behind the Streets of America near the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. I think it's called Studio Catering Co. but I could be totally wrong about the name!

Great updates! So glad you finally got your ears...I love them!

I really can't believe all of the rain! It does make for a kind of depressing day, but I guess a rainy day in Disney is better than a ________ day at home!

I think I might have to just go in Paradiso for that sangria/margarita drink! Awesome! And I never knew about that little sangria drink at DHS...may be stopping there!

Great update as usual :thumbsup2 We just took a weekend vaca away to the lake, so I am just getting myself caught up now. I am now not only afraid of the rain, but terrified of disney snakes!!! :scared1: snakes freak me out!

I love the videos you guys added...though it stinks to see the rain during your trip. I am hoping I can figure out a good spot to watch Wishes from when we are there...we are not doing the dessert party...but its DBf's first trip and I want to get a good spot

I agree...I'd rather take rain in Disney than sun in New Jersey!

Oh are you a sangria fan?? If so, then just WAIT until dinner the next night! Best sangria ever!

Glad you're all caught up! Yes the snake was scary! I'm happy that I can include video in the TR but I'm so mad that shutterfly still hasn't fixed the problem that causing the video to be all warped.

Honestly, any spot is a good spot for Wishes! Just try to stand somewhere in front of the castle, further away is good too!

Yes! Love me some sangria! Can't wait to hear. You're going to have me back on disney's website changing my adr's!:rotfl:

Hey everyone!! I don't have an update today but I just wanted to let you all know it's our one-year anniversary!!

We were both kind of craving Panera but we decided we should maybe go some place a little nicer! So we're going to do that instead.

So it was a year ago tomorrow that we left for our honeymoon. Unfortunately that also means that our annual passes expire tomorrow. I'm really sad about that because we do not even have an idea of when our next trip is going to be. We are thinking maybe a long weekend next fall for Food and Wine...I've still got my heart set on the Adventures By Disney Backstage Magic Tour next summer.....we'll see......

I understand about not knowing when your next trip will be and be sad about it.

I am planning on moving out this year, and my parents will help me to buy appliances. So that will cost a bundle. And that means, no Disney this year.

So cool that you got to see Bert and Mary and the penguins! Lucky girl!!

I find that early mornings in Fantasyland are a breeze.

You seem to be addicted to coffee like me.

I had 2 today. But since I'm so tired, I want one more hehe

TOTALLY addicted to coffee! We have a Kuerig (makes one cup at a time) and I made 3 cups in a row last night! I'm also the kind of person that can have coffee right before bed. Some people claim it keeps them up, but not me!

Early morning is the BEST time to do Fantasyland!

Yay for having a trip to look forward to!

The MK mountains can really screw people up.

The same thing happened to us before MSEP. People wouldn't move from the walkways.

That tour looks neat. Might think about it in the future. Of course, the tour that I dream of doing is the Yuletide tour.

Yes, Soarin's fastpasses are not that fast ;)

I also hate when people comment throughout movies or attractions.

I also noticed that I also have a lot less patience during the summer. And people easily get on my nerves.

I'm easily reminded of a quote from the movie "The Hangover". The guy, who's a teacher, comes out of the school and a kid comes to talk to him. It goes something like: "Tommy, it's Friday. I don't know you."
