We, ate and ate, and ate and ate . . . My 10 day DDP review! *** COMPLETED***

Great reviews! I'm glad to hear a review about Cantina De San Angel, we want to eat there in September.

I read this and started laugh! :lmao: When we went last year I didn't make a ressie at Le cellier because I figured, why would a Montrealer go to a French steakhouse at Disney? All the pictures look like Gibby's at the Old Port of Montreal. Then I kept reading all of these amazing reviews and DH loves steak... but then it was too late and there were no adr's to be had. So this time it was one of the for adr's I made! And I do look forward to having a good Unibroue beer. :upsidedow

Great reviews!

LOL! I've only ever been to Gibby's in St-Sauveur, so I had no idea the one in the Old Port looked similar. I LOVE Unibroue. I don't think they are appreciated in the rest of Canada, but they seem to have quite the following in the USA!

Enjoyed reading your reviews. We are going in Aug and I am hoping to get ADR for Le Cellier. My DD, also said, we are Canadians why eat at Canada but I would like to see what everyone is saying about it.

Honestly I thought it was a little weird too! But we tried Le Cellier and it was good! We made the waitress laugh though, when she began explaining where she was from in Canada (Vancouver) and DH, being born and raised in the GTA told her we were from "The centre of the Universe, the Tdot!" I thought she was going to pass out laughing! Anyway, try it! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Great reviews! I'm glad to hear a review about Cantina De San Angel, we want to eat there in September.

I don't know why I didn't know anything about Cantina de San Angel, but we were really surprised! And the CM's there were SUPER friendly. We'll eat here again.

We, ate and ate, and ate and ate . . . My 10 day DDP review! (Day Six - Monorails & Steak)

Day 6 – MK

Sorry this update has taken so long! Winter has finally had the better of us, the flu, the snow, the freezing rain, the subsequent freezing of the freezing rain and the shoveling has made us yearning for a palm tree or two. Plus we’ve all been sick. So now that we’re on the mend, I’ll continue on, and wish for our next trip to arrive sooner!

Columbia Harbour House (Lunch)

Me: BLT Salad w/ apple crisp & diet coke. This was good; we wanted something light for lunch. I would have preferred grilled chicken in the salad, but I didn’t notice until I sat down to eat. The apple crisp isn’t apple crisp at all – it’s an apple blossom. If you never had one, it’s like an individual apple pie. It was good! We ate upstairs, and for those of you with wheelchairs & strollers, I did see them in the upstairs eating area. There were CM’s bringing them up a back elevator. There are washrooms upstairs too and they weren’t busy at all.

DH: Garden Galley Salad w/ apple crisp & lemonade. This salad had DH’s name all over it! Pineapple! Pecans! Feta! He really liked it, and since I ordered it for him, I guess we’ve been together just way too long! I had a bite and I thought it was good too. Again, the apple crisp wasn’t crisp at all but pie and DH much prefers pie!

DS: Kid’s meal mac’n’cheese w/ carrots & grapes & orange juice. This was not DS favourite meal. I think the mac’n’cheese was too saucy. I would have been able to get him to eat it if there was parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top. This was one of the CS restaurants when the carrots were expired and they didn’t have any others. This happened to us a couple of times, so we took them back to the counter and asked for grapes instead.

DD: Kid’s meal mac’n’cheese w/ carrots & grapes & apple juice. DD liked to tease her brother by telling him that she really liked it, and so should he. There was an argument and DH and I threatening no dessert for the rest of the trip. We bring some Ziploc bags for the grapes; the kids eat them while we’re walking around.

Would we eat here again? Yes, the food was good, the location was great and eating upstairs was nice and quiet. There was a long line-up, but DH took the kids upstairs, they played with some other kids, and I struck up a conversation in line when some women asked me where I bought my Wonder Woman purse (Wal-Mart Canada, 10$)!

Concourse Steakhouse @ Contemporary Resort (Dinner)

I was really looking forward to this one! I had heard great things about the food, and DS thought it was a riot that the monorail goes inside the resort! While we were waiting for our table we looked around the resort and saw this:

PC150038.jpg

It’s Pinocchio and Geppetto made entirely of chocolate! Ok now I was hungry . . .

Me: Pan Seared Scallops with honey-vinaigrette dressing, New York Strip, mashed potatoes & seasonal vegetables w/ Triple Chocolate Cake, ginger ale & birthday Mickey Cappuccino! This was mouthwatering delish! The scallops were so good, DS had one from both of our plates, and he told me they were better than the tiny ones I cook at home. These were perfectly cooked and the vinaigrette was light and just enough flavour. My steak was superb, though I can’t remember what the seasonal veggies were. It might have been broccoli rabe (rapini), I seem to remember thinking that I just can’t cook broccoli rabe well at home, it’s always bitter, but this was delicious. The triple chocolate cake was . . . perfect. This was not too sweet, moist, several layers high, and came with my birthday Mickey Cappuccino! I was wearing a birthday button, and our server asked if I would like a coffee, of course I said yes, and he brought me this:

PC150040-1.jpg

DH: Pan Seared Scallops with honey-vinaigrette dressing, Filet Mignon, mashed potatoes with gorgonzola butter w/triple chocolate cake & Ravin' Raspberry smoothie. DH loved the scallops just like I did. His steak was good, I’m not a fan of gorgonzola, but it wasn’t overpowering. After the main course DH had to take a call (of course), he thought it was work related, but a work-friend of DH was also at WDW and his soon-to-be-ex-wife had locked him out of their (off-site) hotel room. And he was looking for advice! Needless to say that DS “sampled” Daddy’s cake while he was away from the table. They both enjoyed it immensely. The smoothie was good, DH likes this sort of thing for a beverage, but I find it too thick. You could tell it was freshly made, and really fruity. There were also bananas in it.

DS: Seasonal vegetables (green beans, carrots), grilled steak w/ milk & ice cream. We asked the server to bring out the kids’ veggies when we had our appetizers, so the kids ate with gusto! DS ordered the steak (of course), it was great, and because we ordered the veggies first, we let him look at the monorail as often as he wanted while eating his steak. DS picked at the ice cream because he was more interested in Daddy’s cake.

DD: Seasonal vegetables (green beans, carrots), macaroni and cheese w/milk & ice cream. DD asked me to try her mac’n’cheese, and wow was it good! You could taste real cheese and the noodles were cooked perfectly. This was so good that DH and I finished what she didn’t want, and I forgot to ask for the recipe! I should call them. DD didn’t want ice cream, so she ate a little and then finished my cake. She still talks about this meal, and both kids were sad to hear that The Concourse will be closing.

Would we eat here again? I wish! With the Concourse closing we will be trying Chef Mickey’s next time, and we hope that the new restaurant (The Wave) will keep some of these menu items. If we could eat here again, we would. We sat under the monorail tracks. It was great! We really couldn’t hear the monorail, but we would feel it just before it arrived and DS would jump up and take a look. I thought it was one of the best seats in the house.

We, ate and ate, and ate and ate . . . My 10 day DDP review! (Day Seven - Short & Sweet)

Day-7 (MGM)

Play’n’Dine @ Hollywood & Vine Character Meal (Lunch)

I didn’t write what any of us had for this meal. I like buffets, but this one was a huge disappointment. The food was just barely average, the character interaction was OK, but really geared to the teeny-tiny crowd. My kids (ages 5 & 3) weren’t that impressed. It was also VERY loud. There was loud music, loud CM’s, loud parents and finally screaming kids. Not our cup of tea. (There was a reason we didn’t want to go to Whispering Canyon!)

Would we eat here again? No way!

Intermission Food Court @ ASMu (Dinner)

After a long hard day riding Star Tours over and over at MGM, we headed back to the resort for dinner. It was getting cold out (we checked the weather the night before and we knew there was cold weather on the way) we drove back to the resort to give the food court a try.

Me: Double cheese burger & fries w/ diet coke and chocolate swirl cheesecake. This burger was too big for me; I shared most of the fries with the family. I should have asked for a salad instead of the fries. The burger was good, nothing special though. The cheesecake looked better than it was; it was a little dry and bland.

DH: Pasta, meatballs & salad w/orange juice & crisp rice treat. This was good, the sauce was flavourful and it was just what DH was looking for. DH was disappointed that the orange juice wasn’t from the dispenser, it was in a bottle, and he was thirsty! You could choose one of two different sizes of juice with your meal (this seemed weird to me, I can’t remember what the sizes were, but one was smaller than the other). The dessert was shared by the kids, DH didn’t want it. The kids loved it!

DS: Kid’s meal chicken nuggets w/ grapes, Jell-O & milk. I’m beginning to think that WDW probably has the same chicken nuggets no matter where you go. They were the usual. The kids loved the Jell-O; it was fruit punch flavour and hit the spot! DS shared my fries and DH’s dessert, he was really hungry.

DD: Kid’s meal pasta & meatballs w/grapes, Jell-O & milk. This one was a surprise for us, because on the counter where you order there are a few condiments and one of them is small packages of parmesan cheese!!! My kids eat pasta with a sprinkle of parmesan, so we grabbed a handful for the rest of the trip! We did order the sauce on the side, and DH used it on his pasta. DD ate almost everything, and then announced that she was tired and we all needed to go to bed.

Would we eat here again? If we ever stayed at ASMu again, we probably would, but we weren’t fans of the “value” resorts. I think we just might be a “deluxe” family; we need bigger beds and bigger rooms.

Coming up: Our super-freezing-cold AK day & BOMA!

Day 8 – AK & BOMA

We’re from Canada; I grew up in Montréal, I know cold. It was cold at AK the ONLY day we went, we could have pulled out the parkas and snowsuits from the car, but we decided there would be no winter gear wearing in Florida. So we wore many layers instead. (It was about 3 degrees Celsius!)

We were trying to get to rope drop, so I didn’t stop at the Mickey D’s near the All Stars for my morning coffee fix . . .

Harambe Popcorn Cart (Coffee)

I tried to line up for a latte at Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery, but the line was long, and it wasn’t moving, and I was in need! As I walked past Harambe Popcorn I saw coffee cups! It’s not on the menu, it was a pilot project and it was only crummy old Nescafé, but I was in need! So I drank it. It was just barely OK coffee, but it filled the need.

Pizzafari (Lunch)

Why is there not pizza on the kids’ menu at the PIZZA restaurant? Hmmm? Strange . . .

Me: Chicken Parmesan Sandwich & grapes w/ sweet tea & apple blossom. I didn’t want to eat too much because we had a 5:30 ressie at Boma for supper. The sandwich was good, just what I was looking for. I couldn’t finish it though. We all shared the grapes and apple blossom. I think the apple blossom was exactly the same as at Columbia Harbour House. The sweet tea here was good, but what do I know being from the land of yucky iced tea?

DH: Chicken Parmesan Sandwich & grapes w/ apple juice & apple blossom. The only complaint that DH had about this was that his apple juice was too small. We did notice that when it came to real juice the portions were a little bit small.

DS: Peanut butter & jelly sandwich, carrots & Jell-O w/ apple juice. I think before we went to WDW DS had maybe eaten two PB&J’s in is life, but now he’s addicted! The kids loved the dining room here, and happily ate their entire lunches. Plus we were in from the frigid Florida cold!

DD: Peanut butter & jelly sandwich, carrots & Jell-O w/ apple juice. She ate everything, we didn’t have to argue. That was enough for us.

Boma (Supper)

I was looking forward to Boma; I was having a memory filled day. I traveled to Kenya as a young adult to do some volunteer construction work, and I felt like I was back in Kenya (though my Safari experience was grittier, more raw, more poacher filled and more driving through brush fires trying to escape the elephant stampede, than Kilimanjaro Safaris is!)

We all shared from each other’s plates and some of the winners were:

Mulligatawny soup: This was hands down the best thing I have ever eaten at a buffet. I asked for the recipe. It’s chicken soup, but with a thick broth. I asked the chef what the flavour I couldn’t figure out was, she told me it was apple. I was delicious.

Falafel: This was good, not the best I’ve ever had, but really good, and the kids really liked it until DS ate one that had a little more spice in it than the others!

Couscous: Really good, and well prepared, not too sticky and well spiced.

Carve station: I didn’t try too many meats, but the salmon was really tasty, and the Durban spiced chicken was good, though none too exotic.

Kid’s Buffet: DH and I both grew up in major cities (DH – Toronto, Me – Montréal) so we’re used to a variety of foods. We found it quite odd that so many adults were not even looking at the rest of the buffet, but only eating from the kids buffet. Why pay for Boma if all you want is mac & cheese and chicken nuggets? Our kids didn’t even eat anything from the kids’ buffet except for the niblets corn.

Potatoes with Afritude: Kind of a disappointment. Not that adventurous, kind of plain, but well prepared and good.

Desserts: We only chose fruit and lots of it! The Zebra Domes looked good, but the sign stated they contained alcohol, so I passed, but when I got home and did a little research I found that they contain Kahlua! Now that I would have liked!

I also tried lots of other salads, lentils, vegetarian options and found everything was good, nothing was too weird, or overly spicy. We were really happy to have variety and fresh fruits and vegetables. We were getting a little tired of all the fast food, and this was a welcome change.

We did not like that people at the buffet were telling us not to jump the line, we tried to explain that you don’t have to line up at the meats and keep herding along, that there are “pods” for a reason, but some of the people there were VERY unpleasant. It didn’t change our feelings about the restaurant.

Was this anything like I ate while I was in Kenya? No way! We ate simple foods while we were working, lots of fresh fruit and veggies. The food at Boma is too pretty to be authentic! I would have like some samosas, more exotic fruits and a White Cap or Tusker lager, but we were impressed with this one.

Would we eat here again? Yes, we plan on it. After our meal we went to the front desk to ask if we could take a look at one of the rooms, because we would have like to stay here in the future, but the manager we spoke to was really unpleasant, and told us that we should have come by during the day. (This was only 6:30pm!) The resort is beautiful though.

I really enjoyed your reviews! Especially the one on Boma -- I can never decide if I want to eat there or not but I really liked your description of it. And it is nice to find a restaurant that has fruit and veggies!! You've made me want to eat there. :thumbsup2

I had to laugh about your safari comments though. You mean WDW isn't like the "real deal"? Why next you will tell me the ostrich eggs aren't real!!!

Did you get the recipe for the soup? If you did maybe you can be kind enough to post it.:goodvibes

I'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can score a last minute ADR for Boma. I had one last year, but we never made it.:sad2:

Great reviews.:thumbsup2

I have to ask something unrealated to food. How long did it take you to drive? We usually fly out of Buffalo but I've been trying to convince Dh that we could drive next time.

You really should try it - we thought the theming was super and the food was just what we needed, variety and something different!

Sadly I never received it in the mail. :sad2: But it is posted on allears: http://allears.net/din/rec_mul.htm

I haven't made it yet, but I plan on making it during March Break, I'll let you know how it turns out!

Your siggy has SIX kids? Wow, you're my hero! :worship:

OK here's what we did. We only have two kids and they're seasoned car travellers. So it's not a big deal for them.

We live in Milton, ON and we left our house at about 9am, and after returning library books, gassing up and getting coffee we were on the QEW at about 10am, on a Saturday. We stopped for the night in Jonesville, NC and arrived in Orlando at about 4pm on the Sunday.

We take the I-90/I-79/I-77/I-26/I-95 route. We've driven this twice and there are no "major" cities (by GTA standards) along the way until you hit Jacksonville. We have a DVD player in the car and the kids just zone out on movies the entire time. Each day we eat one meal in the car, and have one in a restaurant. We stop at least once at a rest area for the kids to run around for 30 minutes or so then we keep going.
We drive faster than the posted speed limit, :rolleyes1 but we try to keep with the flow of traffic.

The drive home this time was a nightmare, but we were driving to Montréal for Christmas, I will NEVER drive that way again. We went through DC during rush hour on the Friday before Christmas. It was not pleasant.

Let me know if you need more info!

We, ate and ate, and ate and ate . . . My 10 day DDP review! (Day Eight - MGM)

Day 8 – (MGM)

We slept in a bit this morning had a swim in the pool and headed over to DTD for lunch, we wanted to stay a little later at MGM (so we could video the Osborne spectacle of lights!) so we thought heading there a little bit later and having the kids rested and relaxed would be a good idea.

WPE – DTD (Lunch)

ME: Spinach & mushroom pizza w/Mango iced tea & chocolate chip cookie. I just can’t get over how great a CS meal this place is. Not only is the food delicious, but they bring it to your table, and check on you throughout the meal. They even refill your drink for you! I love this type of pizza, and this did not disappoint. I tried the mango iced tea again, but it’s just not mango-y enough for me. I saved the cookie for later and had it while we were wandering MGM.

DH: BBQ chicken pizza w/lemonade & handmade chips. It was DH’s idea to come here again; he really enjoyed it the first time. This was top notch as usual, no complaints here.

DS: kids’ pepperoni pizza w/milk & chocolate chip cookie. Loved it, ate it all – couldn’t wait to ride Star Tours again, and buy a new Storm Trooper t-shirt!

DD: kids’ cheese pizza w/milk & chocolate chip cookie. Was this good? She ate it so fast I’m not sure she even tasted it!

Would we eat here again? Yes, and we do for a third time!

Mama Melrose (Supper)

Me: Caesar Salad, Pasta Pipette (grilled Chicken with Pipette pasta, artichokes, peas, roasted red peppers in a basil and four cheese cream sauce) w/diet coke & Crema Limone. I chose the restaurant because we wanted to eat at MGM again to see the Osborne Festival of Dancing Lights, and we had no interested in 50’s Prime Time, so this was the only other option. It was OK, the server seemed overworked and tired, some of the other guests were rude and that kind of changed our opinion of the place. The salad was ordinary; I would have liked a better presentation. The pasta was good and unique combination of flavours and fresh tasting sauce. The crema limone dessert is labeled as no sugar; it was good, though not lemony enough for me. I would have preferred tiny wild blueberries to go with it. It was a good dessert because it wasn’t heavy, rich and chocolaty. We were a little tired of too many heavy desserts.

DH: Caesar Salad Spaghetti Fra Diavolo (clams, calamari, mussels and shrimp in a spicy Marinara sauce) w/coke & Crema Limone. DH enjoyed his salad, and was surprised at the amount of seafood in the pasta. There was quite a bit and he even shared some with DS. He really enjoyed his dessert, he thought there was enough lemon flavour in it. So there you have it, I guess it all depends on your palate.

DS: veggies, kids’ chicken strips w/orange juice & fruit salad. The kids were a little cranky for this meal, and this was not the time to start arguing about what to eat. So he chose chicken fingers, and they were the usual. He didn’t want to eat his vegetables, so he was told he would have fruit for dessert. My kids really love fruit, so this wasn’t a problem.

DD: veggies, kids’ penne Pasta (four cheese sauce on the side) w/apple juice & ice cream sundae. We thought DD would try thie sauce, because it was made of “stinky” cheese. But no go. She would have nothing to do with it, so she asked the server for grated stinky cheese instead. By the time dessert came she really only had two bites of ice-cream and then asked to see the lights.

Would we eat here again? Maybe, or maybe not.

We, ate and ate, and ate and ate . . . My 10 day DDP review! (Day Nine - MK)

Day 9 (MK)

Sorry it’s taken so long to update this report – there have been too many snowstorms to shovel out (DH always seems to be someplace hot’n’sunny when the next one hits), and I decided to become a scary suburban mom and start scrapbooking all my Disney photos. And there’s the raging case of carpal tunnel syndrome that’s decided to re-appear after 6 years. Lucky Me. So here are the final two installments for your enjoyment. As long as it doesn’t snow again . . .

Kona Coffee Bar (morning java fix)

While we were waiting to be seated for breakfast we looked around the Poly lobby, and I saw the coffee bar next to the Kona Café and grabbed a cup (with a dining plan snack credit). Mmmmm, good coffee. Gonna have that again next time we’re there. Oh, and did I mention that we fell in love with the Poly, and we’re going to try our darndest to stay there next time? Love the lovely Poly.

O’hana @ the Poly (Character Breakfast)

We had a 10:30am reservation, so this was Brunch for us, we planned on eating our fill, then skipping lunch, having a few snacks and supper. This was our last day at a park too.

This is served family style, there’s lots of food and it just keeps on comin’! We had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and Mickey waffles!!! There was also juice (really can’t remember the name) that was a mix of guava and passion fruit and something else (can’t remember – can anyone help? Orange and Pineapple maybe?). Everyone in my family loved the juice, and the best part was that our glasses were always full!

I bought a Mickey Waffler a while ago and I can’t seem to get the waffles right. The Mickey Waffles at here were the best! We couldn’t get enough. I googled “Mickey Waffles” and found out they use Carbon’s Golden Malted Waffle Mix. Next time I’m in the US, I’m going to look for this.

The kids don’t really like potatoes, but DD liked the onions from the potatoes! DS really liked the bacon, he ate quite a few pieces.

The character interaction was great, plus, for some reason the kids really like Lilo & Stitch, we chose this character meal because they’ll have different favourites next time. But the atmosphere, the food, the service, the resort and the characters were all so excellent we will definitely do this one again.

Would we eat here again? Heck yeah! And we plan on staying at the Poly next time too!!!

Liberty Square Produce Market (snack)

We bought grapes for the kids and a Coke for DH and I to share. We love that you can get fresh fruit here, this is what the kids snack on at home.

Cosmic Ray’s (supper)

Me: 1/2 Chicken & Ribs, French fries, veggies w/sweet tea & chocolate cake. Excellent as usual! I asked if I could substitute French fries for the mashed potatoes and it wasn’t a problem. I planned on sharing the fries with the family that night as well as the chocolate cake. We were a little melancholy that we were leaving the next day, so we just ate quietly and listened to the lounge lizard sing his heart out!

DH: Turkey Bacon Wrap & Eclipse Chips w/sweet tea & chocolate cake. DH forgot that he doesn’t like the eclipse chips, so I ate them and he shared the fries with the kids. He liked the wrap, and we all wish that they were offered at more CS restaurants. DH loves this place and he takes the kids to look at the “entertainment” while I tidy up and enjoy a moment to myself. Great guy that DH.

DS: kids’ meal chicken nuggets w/ grapes & carrot sticks & milk. DS ate everything and ate more than half of my cake! That kid can eat! He hasn’t met a nugget he doesn’t like.

DD: kids’ meal chicken nuggets w/ grapes & carrot sticks & milk. DD was not happy that she didn’t get chocolate milk, there was some pouting, but we explained to her that we were going to get treats while we watched the fireworks. That improved her mood.

Would we eat here again? Yes.

Sleepy Hollow (late night snack)

We ordered two funnel cakes with sugar to share and a “Tinkerbell Twist” slushie. The funnel cakes were HUGE and we should have only ordered one. The slushie was a twist of watermelon and sour apple. Sounds weird but DD and I really loved it. The boys did not. I will have one of these again to share with DD for sure!

Up next: :sad1: the last day :sad1:

Day 10 (Last Day)

Because we didn’t eat supper on the day we had a late lunch at the Castle, we had an extra CS credit to use on our last day. We also needed to use 15 snack credits at Goofy’s Candy Co. So we headed to DTD to eat at: you guessed it, Wolfgang Puck Express!
But first we needed to pack up and load the car for the looooooong drive to Montréal.

Intermission @ ASMu (snack)

We bought a muffin, some grapes and a coffee for me. The kids and I snacked on this while watching cartoons in the lobby. DH had the lucky job of packing up the car!

WPE @ DTD (Lunch)

Me: Four cheese pizza w/ diet coke & apple. I really liked this; DH and I both agreed this is like a CS/TS hybrid restaurant. We ate outside enjoying the sun. We wouldn’t have warm temps again for months, and months, and months. . . I really enjoy this place and can’t wait to eat here again, and check out the new renovations. We all saved our apples for the car ride home.

DH: Rigatoni & meatballs w/coke & apple. DH knew there were going to be days of road-trip food so he decided on the pasta, he liked the sauce. It was full of flavour without being spicy. Good fresh taste. We both decided that the mango iced tea was always a disappointment, so we skipped it this time. But we will try it again.

DS: Kids’ pepperoni pizza w/orange juice & apple. DS was cranky, he didn’t want to go home, he didn’t want to see snow again, he didn’t want to eat inside, and on it went, until the food came, and he told me that his pizza was delicious, but not as good as the pizza I make (from scratch) at home. Ahhhh, my heart melted.

D: Kids’ mac’n’cheese w/ chocolate milk & apple. DD was also cranky, but just because DS was. She also ate everything, but only because we told her if she didn’t, her brother could pick all the treats at Goofy’s Candy Co.

Would we eat here again? You betcha!

Goofy’s Candy Co (DTD)

We hit the mother lode here! 15 snack credits to use, and here’s what we bought:

1) Giant rice krispie square (huge!)
2) Mint smoothie chocolate square (enormous!)
3) Two dipped marshmallows on a straw (we use the straws when we need a little Disney)
4) Two Christmas Tree cookies (one white, one green)
5) Box of white chocolate macadamia cookies (there were eight cookies inside that we ate during a snowstorm)
6) Box of double chocolate cookies (similar to above – we’ve yet to eat them)
7) Two boxes of character cookies (gave one to my nephews for Christmas, ate the other, yum!)
8) Bag of Character gummis candy (not eaten yet)
9) 14 oz bag of Mickey pretzels (going to finish these off this week!)
10) Bag of Nemo dried fruit (dried apples & cranberries, really good)
11) Mammoth pecan pattie (Mmmmmm & huuuuuge)
12) One other item that I can’t remember & can’t decipher from the receipt!!!

We thought this was well spent on treats, though we will spend more credits on coffee and snacks next time, instead of saving it all up like this again.

Would we eat here again! Gawrsh! Yup!

To sum things up:

We did a trip earlier in March 2007, stayed off site at an all suites hotel. We ate off-site, and cooked a few of our own meals, and ate a couple of times on-site. I just dug out the receipts and did a comparison, and it was slightly cheaper to stay on-site and have the DDP. Would we do the dining plan again? We think so, but if we don’t enjoy it as much with the recent changes, we might reconsider. But who knows, there might be more changes later on too. There are a few restaurants that we’ll eat at again; we will definitely eat at Chef Mickey’s next time, as well as Boma and O’hana’s. Well, that’s it. Now I’m longing to go again, and maybe do another dining review. But for now, I’ll just have to be content planning the next trip!

:) :) :) :) Thanks for reading! :) :) :) :)

Thanks so much for these reviews! We are heading back in a onth and because of our little tour of the Poly for Ohanas' we are now staying the first three days at the Poly before moving back to POR. I have Kona Cafe booked for our first meal there and Ohanas' for breakfast before we leave. I cannot wait!

We also hit the goofy's candy factory before leaving with a ton of snack credits and those were some yummy confections!

You gave me a whole lot of nostalgia and some real excitement for next month. Good luck with all the snow! I feel your pain! We here in Montreal are now shoveling off rooves as they all seem to be collapsing under the weight. Take care and happy planning!

Ooooh, thanks for the compliments! :goodvibes

I meant to change the original title to "completed", sorry there won't be any more right now . . . But we're going back this December so stay tuned!!!

Thanks for reading :)

My wife has a few of the Disney Waffle Makers and she always uses Bisquick or Aunt Jemima's Mix. They came out pretty nice and tasty - just like at Disney!

Last time she used it, she cooked waffles with her Kindergarten class. All the teachers were inquiring about the smell coming from her room and stopped in to grab a waffle snack!

Rob :)
