We are having a drought

KC is having its longest drought ever. We have passed the 50-day mark with no precipitation and are closing in on the 60-day mark with no rain or snow in sight. Previously 43 days was the longest we had ever gone. The storms come at us from Kansas and seem to be right on track to hit us and then they move south and hit Springfield or move north and hit Iowa. Several times they have just parted like the Red Sea and reformed on the other side of the city like we have some force field around us that repels moisture. It is getting depressing to hear you all talk of the large snows you are getting. Not only do we need this so bad I also just love snow! I know you all have been getting way too much snow at once and this has not been safe but if you could just send a little our way then you would have less and we would have a little! I guess we should be happy that this is not happening during the heat of summer in the growing season, but I shudder to think of what spring will bring.

Sorry to hear about the rought times for you guys, but I will gladly send some of this white stuff your way. Its getting very depressing...especially with 3 months of it still to go!

We are getting snow.....but we too had a bad drought in 2002. Finally, after a rainy autumn & now snow... we can get back to normal.

I understand. Yes, it was very depressing last spring & summer with all the talk of water bans, brown lawns...... Neighbors & I decided not to plant any flowers last yr... so we wouldn't have to water them.

It will rain. Eventually. Hanging in there in the meantime.

Sorry to hear of your drought. I would love to send some fluffy white stuff your way... anything that we get, I would be happy to direct back towards you all. I hope this drought ends for you all soon.

a major drought last year! They just announced the other day that it is officially over! Now we have too much water - I hope you have rain / snow soon!
