We All Want a Jar of Hunny!~A Nov. 2010 TR! *NEW October PTR 4/4, pg 42!!!*

Just found your TR! I'm in! Just read through all your links....Great TR sp far...cant wait to read more! :thumbsup2

:welcome: Glad you're enjoying it so far! :cool1:

Great TR so far! It's been a while since I posted so I'm going to comment on a couple different days. I loved reading about your time at the F&W festival because I've never got to enjoy it... can't wait for my Oct. trip now! All your park hopping is making me tired, I can't imagine how you two felt! I totally agree about the Flights of Wonder show, it's cute but I would never want to do it every trip! You should definitely stay at AKL some time, it's one of my favorite resorts! Finally, I can't believe you made the decision to go to EoS for breakfast. I would have been freaking out going away from "the plan" that much!:rotfl:

Thanks! Food and Wine is awesome, I'm definitely planning to spend some more time at it on my next trip!

Yeah, we go a little crazy park hopping, but it's fun! I sometimes think about not getting park hoppers to save money, but I think I'd miss all the running around!

EoS was so good, I'm sure it's better than any breakfast we could have had at POR! I was freaking out, but by the time we got to Epcot, I forgot about it! Disney makes you forget things quickly!

Finally all caught up! I love the Osborne Lights! I hope one day we can go & see them! I thought for sure you would say Stitch was the worst ride ever!!!! We never did see the bird show or FOTLK. And how did you manage to hold on to your camera to get those pics on EE?!?! I am too afraid I will drop mine!

The Osborne lights are so much fun, I think you and the kids would love them, I hope you get to go one day too! We STILL have never done the Stitch ride...someday I will try it, just to see how terrible it is, but for now, I can do without it! :rotfl:

I was afraid of dropping my camera, so I waited until we were at the very top and the ride stops for a few seconds...and I have a strap on it that I wrapped really tightly around my wrist, just in case! If I didn't have that strap, no way would I have attempted taking pictures on EE!

just wanted to pop in and say happy new year and i promise im coming back to catch up at some point!

I was wondering where you have been! Happy New Year! :goodvibes

I'm so glad that Howard and I can work on the same Disney schedule with wanting to leave at the same time! However, we won't be able to benefit from that until we get married. I wonder how the other 4 are gonna be with getting out the door in February!

OoOo, I've never thought of EoS for breakfast! We plan on getting EoS for the Amtrak trip home since it'll save us money instead of buying on the train, but maybe we should get breakfast sammies there too!!! Thanks for the idea!

LOL, Brandon and I are pretty good about working out a Disney schedule, but sometimes, he just needs to sleep late...next trip I plan, I'm going to have to factor that in, 3 days of getting up at the crack of dawn is not a good plan! :rotfl:

Mmm, you are going to LOVE EoS breakfast, soooo good!!! :cool1:

Just caught up - love the TR and all the pics. We plan to go next year (oops - it's now THIS year!) - in November. I'm glad Osborne lights are already up at this time.

Thanks! November is a great month to go, the weather is usually really nice, and the holiday decorations are beautiful!

Because I'm a lady, that's why! (1)

Welcome back! Before I begin the rest of my update, I have exciting news (well, exciting to me anyway!)...I booked our next trip!!! I don't know if I've mentioned it much, but I have been planning to go back in the middle of October for the Halloween party and the Food and Wine fest, and I've been waiting for some discounts to come out! I know it's early, but there are people getting pins for the entire year, and I was hoping for one of those, but no such luck...so with the new general public discounts that came out today, I figured, why not, I'll just book something now, and if something great comes out for October, I'll change the dates, but if not, we are booked for...

9/24-10/2 at the ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE!!!! :dance3:

I'm so excited!! If we keep these dates, which it as of now, I probably will, (unless they come out with a 40% off deluxe room discounts for October) we will get to do the Halloween party AND the Food and Wine fest! I get to make my ADR's at the end of March, which doesn't seem that far away, considering it's already January!

Edited 1/4-Quick update on my trip that I booked yesterday-I've changed the dates already! I found out I have a 40% off deluxe resorts pin that covers the first week of October, so I switched to October 1-October 9!!! Very excited that I'll be going in October!

Just wanted to share my news, back to the trip report!

Day 4, 11/15 part 2

When we left off, we were finishing with the Nemo ride, where we then realized it was after 11...only one place we had to go...World Showcase, of course! Never to early to start drinking on vacation!

Brandon wanted to stop in England to get a beer

IMG_1765.jpg

(I love that picture, I think it's so funny!) and then we started our walk around the world! I don't know if I got a beer too, I want to say I did, but most likely I didn't...when I say it's never to early to start drinking on vacation, I meant for him, I was probably worried about getting too tired or something!

We then stopped on the bridge to get a picture of me in "France"

IMG_1771.jpg

(ugh, I look exhausted! Gotta start sleeping more on vacation!)

and then wandered around France for a little while,

IMG_1772.jpg

because I was waiting for a certain favorite of mine to come out...

IMG_1775.jpg

Marie! :lovestruc Isn't she just so cute, even from behind? I love her fluffy tail! No one was going up to Marie, so I was the first to get my picture taken with her that day

IMG_1776.jpg

She's just so cute!

I remember considering getting a slush of some kind before we left France, but again, I was nervous about making myself too tired or getting a headache or something, so I decided not to. :sad2:

We continued our stroll around World Showcase...I have to say, this is probably my favorite thing about Disney World, just slowly walking through WS. There aren't any huge attractions, but it's just so easy to get caught up in everything and feel like you are in whatever country it is you're visiting!

We explored the American Adventure area again, I love the Christmas tree they have there

IMG_1780.jpg

We went into the little American shop that they have there, which I have never been in once, in all of my trips to Disney...it's cute, they have some really cute patriotic things in there!

KatMark, I hope you're still reading, because you should love these next few pics, I thought of you while I took them!

IMG_1784.jpg

IMG_1785.jpg

Brandon was having such a great time in those hats...I thought he wanted to buy that raccoon one, he left it on for such a long time! I managed to pull him away from the hats and we continued walking and found ourselves in Italy!

IMG_1787.jpg

I had to go check out the Via Napoli menu, even though we were not going to eat there, it looks SO good! It's definitely a must do for my next trip!

We then went to Germany, which I had been looking forward to the whole trip...Brandon of course, wanted a beer again

IMG_1792.jpg

but I had another place in mind, so we split up for a little while...

IMG_1793.jpg

:worship:

I don't know if I mentioned it in this TR yet, I know I did a few times in my PTR, but I LOVE caramel. I could live on caramel. The fact that I had been in Disney for 4 DAYS and did not get anything from this shop was mind blowing to me!

I walked in...and just stood there, no idea what to do with myself! I'm surprised no one asked me if I was lost, because I just walked back and forth for what seemed like forever, looking at all of my choices

IMG_1795.jpg

I could not decide! It was seriously making me freak out, so I left and found Brandon and had to bring him back in with me...he of course, had to laugh at me for being so ridiculous about CARAMEL  and I finally just pointed at something and left. A few minutes later he came out with this deliciousness

IMG_1796.jpg

Fudge with caramel in the middle...2 of my favorite things in one! It was SO good, so worth the wait and the agony of trying to make a decision! Brandon got a pretzel with chocolate and caramel drizzled on it, again, SO good! Probably the best addition to Disney World in years...forget about Soarin or Toy Story Mania, the best thing they've done was add a caramel shop to Germany! :rotfl2:

Anyway, after our snack, we continued walking, and Brandon had to stop to play the drums as he always does in Africa

IMG_1798.jpg

I don't know what this is, but it looks cool

IMG_1801.jpg

We finally made it to China, where we decided to stop and look around for a while! China is just one of those countries we have always ignored and I don't know why, it's so pretty!

IMG_1804.jpg

IMG_1803.jpg

Uh oh, I used too many images, will continue in next post...

Because I'm a lady, that's why! (2)

IMG_1802.jpg

IMG_1808.jpg

After exploring China for a while, we realized we were pretty hungry, so we decided to stop at the Lotus Blossom Cafe! Again, I didn't take pics, (sorry, bad Dis'er!) but I had the Orange Chicken and Brandon had the Beef Noodle Soup. My chicken was kind of gross, too sweet, but Brandon's soup was SO good, so I ended up eating most of that!

The view from where we were sitting, eating our lunch

IMG_1810.jpg

China is really beautiful, I love how colorful everything is!

Once we were finished eating, we walked past Norway and Mexico and didn't stop for some reason, but I did take a few pics

IMG_1811.jpg

IMG_1812.jpg

Huge difference in crowd levels in those pics compared to my pictures from the Food and Wine festival!

We then walked by Odyssey to get to Future World, where I noticed these cute little markers on the ground

IMG_1813.jpg

Everything has to have Mickey on it, love it!

Since we skipped Test Track on our Disneymoon in May, we figured we would use our GAD FP's

IMG_1814.jpg

and ride Test Track

IMG_1815.jpg

Which always seems to have a crazy wait time, no matter what time of day it is, or how low the crowds are! We got our FP's and got right in line...and it was SO long! It was getting kind of late and we were getting a little tired, so we said forget it, and got out of line.

I felt bad getting those FP's and not using them, so we looked for 2 people who were about to get FP's and gave ours to them, so they could go right on instead of waiting a few hours for their return time!

Since we were talking about leaving soon, and we still had one more use of the GAD FP's, I didn't want them to go to waste, so we went on Soarin again...twice in one day! :lovestruc Great way to begin and end a morning at Epcot!

We looked around Mousegears for a few minutes on our way out, and Brandon bought a tee shirt, and then we headed back to POR! We had a dinner ADR that I didn't want to be late for in a few hours...

Congrats on booking your next trip! Is AKL 40% off? I know some deluxes aren't which sucks. Isn't the Poly only 30% or something? If it 40% you must have gotten a great rate since you are going during value season. Did you get the savannah view? Now you have to try Jiko, Sanaa or Boma. I really want to try them all but they scare me a little. I'm not sure I am that open to different foods. You can try them for me though.

MMMMMMM...Caramel. I can't wait to go to the caramel shop. I have a feeling I'll look lost too when I am trying to decide. I plan on just ordering a few things instead of trying to pick. The caramel brownie, pretzel, strawberry, the marshmellow pinwheel... (This is what I get for reading MickeyNicki's food reports)

Marie is so cute. I love how she holds her little paws in front of her:love:

I was thinking of trying the orange chicken at Lotus Blossom. Too bad it isn't good. Oh well, more room for candy.

Thanks! AKL is only 30% off, and so is the Poly, but the rest of the deluxes are 35%. :confused3 I don't know why they do that, but still, it's a pretty good discount since it's value season...as much as I'd like to go in October, it's so much more expensive since the prices go up, I might just keep these dates, unless, like I said, some great deal comes out. Or they offer free dining again and I downgrade to a mod! :rotfl: I'm pretty happy with these dates for now! I booked a pool view room, but if I have enough extra money I might upgrade to a savanna room.

I know I'm definitely not trying Sanaa! I'm too afraid I won't like anything there! I'll definitely do Boma again, and possibly Jiko, although it's a signature restaurant so I'm not sure.

I should have gotten more than one thing at the caramel shop, but I was just so overwhelmed when I walk in, and I can never make a decision...I'm surprised I decided on AKL so easily when I booked my trip today!

Ugh, the orange chicken was pretty bad at Lotus Blossom, I was kind of disappointed! But Brandon's soup was SO good, so maybe everything else is good there, just not the chicken!

YAY for a new trip booked, that is VERY exciting!! We went last year during that week and honestly if I could convince DBF to go again this year it would be that week again. The crowds were great and we lucked out weather wise except for one day...plus all the Halloween decorations/food and wine festival starting was great!!

You know I had so much trouble picking something out from the Caramel shop, I ended up with nothing!! I need to go back!

Yay for another trip! AKL...love it there! Actually, my dad and sister just telling me how Regis Philbin was talking on the show this morning about taking his grandkids there and that's where they stayed. Only apparently he called it the Africa hotel or something. LOL. Random but had to share that little tidbit. :)

Jen all I can say is:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: on booking. We will be at the AKL (if all goes well with the gal whose points we are using) on the 23rd and 24th and then back "home" at the CSR the nights of the 25th - 28th (departing on the 29th).

I LOVE the pics of hubby in the hats...really great shots. Thanks for the "shout out."

Another great update! Great pics! :thumbsup2
I have yet to be able to enjoy the WS during the daytime! Hopefully this next trip that will happen!
:banana: woohoo for booking your next trip! especially at AKL! It's so neat looking there (we had breakfast at Boma this past july)!

:cool1::cool1:Congrats on booking your next trip!:cool1::cool1: I'm so excited that you chose AKL, I loved it when we stayed there and I hope you do too!! I got excited at first when you mentioned when you were going but then I realized we won't be there until two weeks later because of my Fall Break schedule at grad school. Oh well, I can read all your reviews and then I'll know what I need to try at the F&W festival when I go!:rotfl:

Yay for booking your next trip! :yay:

I know how you feel about the caramel shop. I can't wait to go back :lmao:

LOL, I almost thought I was going to end up with nothing at the caramel shop, because it's such a tough choice...next time I think I'm going to get a few things, so I don't have to agonize over it so much! :rotfl:

Yay for another trip! AKL...love it there! LOL, Regis is a dork, he always gets things wrong! I am SO excited for AKL, I've wanted to stay there forever, but never bothered because it's so far away from everything, but you know what, I don't care, an extra few minutes of driving doesn't matter to me, it will be worth it to be there! :thumbsup2

Sigh. I have some news about my trip that is very exciting, but at the same time upsetting...I'll update you guys at the end of this response and at the beginning of my last TR update, but Kathy, I was hoping to meet you on our upcoming trips...:confused3

LOL, I don't know why Brandon thought those hats were so funny, but he was having a great time playing around with them! There were other people in the store too and he didn't care, so of course, I had to get pics of it! :)

Another great update! Great pics!

:banana: woohoo for booking your next trip! especially at AKL! It's so neat looking there (we had breakfast at Boma this past july)!

Thanks! WS is a lot of fun in the day, it's totally different at night. I love the characters you can find during the day, there are lots of princesses around, and of course, Marie! :thumbsup2 Hope you get to go next time!

Thanks, I'm so excited about AKL! We had breakfast at Boma too, which is a huge reason I'm finally going to stay there, because we got to visit it and see it in person and I loved it!

:cool1::cool1:Congrats on booking your next trip!:cool1::cool1: I'm so excited that you chose AKL, I loved it when we stayed there and I hope you do too!! Thanks! Since you have stayed at AKL, did you think it was too far away from everything? That's my main concern staying there, that I will feel so far away from the parks, but then again, staying at POR felt that way too, and Epcot was literally down the street! Unless you're at an Epcot resort or MK resort, I guess you don't really feel like you're in the middle of everything, right? I just loved WL and Beach Club because of the location, but I'm sure I'll get over it once I'm there!

Make sure you read the end of this message...I've modified my trip a little...

Yay for booking your next trip! :yay:

I know how you feel about the caramel shop. I can't wait to go back :lmao:

Yay, I'm so excited I have a trip booked! :cool1:

LOL I know you love that caramel shop, I can't wait to go back either! :rotfl:

I'm going to update the beginning of my TR update as well, for anyone who just reads chapter links, but I've changed my trip already! :rotfl:

I kept reading on the discount boards that people were getting pin codes, but they weren't getting them emailed to them, they had to call Disney and ask, so I finally called and asked...and I had one! :woohoo: For 40% off, I don't know if it is just off of deluxe resorts or all of them, but it covered the first week of October, so...

we are now going October 1-October 9! :dance3: I'm really excited because I originally wanted to go in October for Food and Wine and to be closer to Halloween and while our first dates were good, I was not looking forward to cramming all of the Food and Wine stuff into the weekend...now we have the whole week to enjoy it! And with the 40% off, it ended up being a little cheaper! :yay:

Now we'll see how long I can keep these dates! Who knows what Disney will offer a few months from now? :rotfl2:

Yay for getting another trip booked! And with a 40% pin!!! :woohoo:

I loved your update! I'm so glad you got to see Marie - she is too cute! I think the America tree is so pretty, too. In fact, I think it's my favorite one in Disney. I love its simplicity.

Love the hat pics! I don't know what it is about Disney but we always gravitate towards the hats! :lmao:

YAY FOR ANOTHER TRIP!!!

I also love AKL.. I just wish it was located where WL or the FW were at haha. I've only stayed at AKL with a car so I'm not sure how the buses are but they can't be that bad and the animals are awesome! I sat in the hot tub one day and watched a giraffe walk by!

Loved the hat pictures. They are great!

Congrats on booking AK for late Sept. I really want my soccer mom friends to go down that weekend for a girls trip. The rates are great and I really want to attend food and wine. How funny if we ended up there during the same time.

Marie is so cute, I think I'm going to try to get a picture with her on each trip from now on! I love the America tree, I love all the red it's decorated with. :thumbsup2

LOL, that's funny how everyone tries on the hats at Disney! I'm more about the Minnie ears, I always try those on, but I leave the hats for Brandon! :rotfl:

YAY FOR ANOTHER TRIP!!!

Yay, thanks! :woohoo:

I know what you mean about AKL...I wish it was where WL is too! I'll have a car when I'm there so I'm not too concerned about it being so far away. If I had to depend on the buses, I doubt I would stay there, I'm SO impatient when it comes to getting to the parks, I think I'd have a panic attack on the buses!

I can't wait to see the animals! We didn't book a savanna room, which I'm kind of sad about but it's something like $600 more or something, which is crazy just for a view. :confused3 I'm sure it would be nice to wake up and walk outside and see a giraffe outside your door, but I'll just use the viewing areas they have around the resort to see the animals!

Loved the hat pictures. They are great!

Congrats on booking AK for late Sept. I really want my soccer mom friends to go down that weekend for a girls trip. The rates are great and I really want to attend food and wine. How funny if we ended up there during the same time.

LOL thanks, the hat pictures are some of my favorites from the trip! :rotfl:

That would be so much fun if we were there the same weekend! :cool1: Keep me updated, we will have to meet up for a drink in Epcot if we're there at the same time!

I finally started reading your TR today and now I'm all caught up! :) Let's see if I can remember all the comments I wanted to make.

Earl of Sandwich was so busy the two times went in December, but we waited and we were glad we did. It was our first experience and it was very delicious!

We went to Food and Wine on our honeymoon and we really want to go back some time. Not sure when, though. We're eating at Le Cellier for lunch on our March trip. I've heard rumors that they might take some things off for the lunch menu (like the filet) since dinner is going to 2TS credits. I hope not since I really want to try the filet.

Rope drop at MK is my favorite. It's just so Disney and I can't help but bounce excitedly down Main St. after watching it. I know what you mean about Philharmagic. I really love that show.

We rode Space Mt. twice, one right after the other. I think another thing that makes a difference with how rough it is is which side your ride. The first time we went left and it was great. The second time we went right and we really felt like we got thrown around.

We ate at Ohana for the first time on our last trip and that bread pudding is amazing!!

I'm sorry you didn't get to see Lion King. That's our favorite show! The Osborne lights were breathtaking. We need to plan another December(ish) trip so we can see them again.

We have to ride the Peoplemover every time we go to Disney too. We can't really explain it, but we really like it. I've skipped Astro Orbiter every trip that I can remember. I was thinking about trying it on our next trip, but after your review we may avoid it.

Congrats on booking another trip! AKL is on our list of places we'd like to stay eventually. Whew! That was a lot of comments, but now I'm caught up. I can't wait to read more! :)

Okay I'm finally caught up after my trip! I love all of your pictures, they are beautiful! And you look beautiful in every picture you are in! :)

Your Osborne light pics were great! I hope mine turn out that good when I look at them on the computer!

I could not stop laughing when I read your review of the Astro Orbiter. John and I basically had the EXACT same experience! :rotfl: We were miserable on that stupid ride!

I am so excited for your trip! Congratulations!

That would be so much fun if we were there the same weekend! :cool1: Keep me updated, we will have to meet up for a drink in Epcot if we're there at the same time!

I hope I can persuade the soccer moms to go to F&W instead of HH. I really want to go that week. It seems like the perfect week!

:welcome: Glad you're here! Just got caught up on your TR too!

I really hope they don't change the Le Cellier menu!!! I mean, I guess it would make sense if they did, if dinner will be 2 TS credits now, but...leave the filet where it is!!! :rotfl:

I am so happy I FINALLY got to see rope drop at MK, it was a lot of fun! Now it's gonna have to be something I do on every trip though, because I can't imagine starting off a morning at MK and not going to rope drop at least once!

Isn't the bread pudding at Ohana the best thing ever??? :woohoo: I told my DH I wanted to go back to Ohana on our next trip and he said he didn't really want to, I was crushed! :( We'll see though...:rolleyes1

Love the Peoplemover!! I think I love it so much because it's one of things I remember from my trips when I was a kid, so much has changed since I started going until now, but the Peoplemover has stayed the same (except for the annoying name change, of course!)! :cool1:

Ugh...Astro Orbiter! Maybe you would like it if you like rides that spin you around really fast, but I'm just not a big fan! I'm glad I did it at least once, though!

Thanks, I'm SO excited about AKL, it's so beautiful, I can't wait to be there for a week! :thumbsup2

Yay, welcome back! :goodvibes Ugh, I knew you would say something about how I look in my pictures! You know I'm never happy with how they turn out! But thank you, I'm only putting up the ok ones, because some of them were just horrifying!

I think it's kind of hard to take pics of the Osborne lights, they're just so...big! Hard to fit in pictures, I guess!

LOL that's funny that you and John were miserable on Astro Orbiter too, isn't it just a terrible ride? :rotfl2:

Thanks, I'm excited for my trip too, can't wait for my first Halloween party!

I hope I can persuade the soccer moms to go to F&W instead of HH. I really want to go that week. It seems like the perfect week!

I hope so too, Food and Wine is so much fun! :thumbsup2
