Hi there! I just joined in and read up on your TR, Great Start! You and your hubby sound just like me and my hubby

Meaning I am Disney obsessed...people think I'm insane because I know so much about WDW. So I know EXACTLY what you mean when you say Epcot-y

It's like the 80s future, which I LOVE since I am a child of the 80s and remember going to Epcot when I was a kid! I expecially remember being aw-struck by the kid talking to the computer screen with someone's face on it from another country (I think it was in world of motion) and now you can do that on your Iphone

Anywho I'm rambling now! We are going on Saturday and I can't WAIT...your TR will tide me over until then
Hi,

thanks for joining!
I was just talking to my DH about trying to start figuring out when our next trip is going to be and he got so annoyed with me! He said Disney is all I talk about!
I love Epcot soooo much, I remember it from when I was a kid too, and I don't think I appreciated it as much as I do now! Especially the countries! I just remember liking Mexico because it had a boat ride!
Have a great trip, Saturday is almost here!
Great update! Your first day sounds pretty great.
Well, except for the drunk people.
Unfortunately we ran into quite a few young people in Epcot who were more than happy to tell anyone who would listen how hammered they were.
Glad to hear you made it back to the caramel shop. Can't wait to hear about it!
It definitely was a great day! The drunk people were obnoxious but I quickly forgot about them! I can't believe that people go up to random people to tell people how hammered they are, like anyone cares!
Looks like we ended up eating pretty much the same thing that night at Le Cellier! Sorry you had to wait so long. We waited awhile, but it was kind-of our own fault for being late.

(By the way, we looked around while we were eating too and never saw you guys. I think we were too far apart with too many people in between. We didn't see you until we were standing in the doorway to leave and did one last scan of the place.)
I love Epcot too and, since I got that 4 Parks, 1 World CD, I've found that I really like the entrance music too!
I get the feeling, based on various reviews I've seen, that some of the F&W booths are kind-of hit-or-miss, depending on the day/chef. The fondue one was not very good for us. Our potatoes were black and the cheese had a film over it. I'm guessing they did a better job with yours!
We never got to see British Invasion...that's still on my to-do list.
Can't wait to hear about your rope drop morning!
Oh, almost forgot, bummer about the drunk people. Surprisingly, we didn't run into any. Maybe because we were mostly doing F&W during the day. Hope you didn't have any more run-ins!
I think 99% of the people who go to Le Cellier get the same thing...the filet and mashed potatoes! Brandon didn't sub the risotto for the mashed potatoes though...he kept the risotto (he's obsessed with it, he's tried to recreate it at home!) AND he got a huge side of mashed potatoes...needless to say, it was a bad idea, he wasn't feeling too good once we got back to POR after eating so much!
I loved the fondue! The potatoes weren't the best, but dipped in the cheese they were good...I really loved that cheese, I recall a lot of people saying it wasn't very good but I liked it!
British Invasion are ok, they're fun to watch for a little while, but nothing to plan your day around!
I'm glad you didn't see any drunk people, luckily they were the worst ones we saw all weekend! I'm happy I didn't see anyone throw up either!
i know there are a million things I'm going to forget to comment on but while I'm thinking of it, I just wanted to mention the tea set you were looking at that you didn't want to carry. You could have had it shipped to your resort or even to Guest Relations at the front of the park, for free! We took advantage of that service a LOT during our trip!
That sucks that EoS was so packed! It's almost always packed like that when we go. You have to go really early in the morning or really late at night, like an hour or so before they close.
Glad you had a good meal at Le Cellier. And yes, I totally know what you mean by things being "Epcot-y" and it's definitely some great music (although I'm partial to AK's park soundtrack as well!). I wish I was listening to it right now!
LOL I know, I should have just had the teapot shipped to my resort! I don't know why I didn't think of that, it slipped my mind! I did have something shipped home to me later in the trip (which I'm still waiting for, btw!) but I just forgot about it that night!
EoS has never been a problem for us until this trip, although we did try to go at the peak of lunch time! I love going there right before they close, it's gross eating a huge sandwich so late, but they're just so good, sometimes it can't be helped!
I don't think I've ever listened to AK's music! You know, now that I think about it, I don't think I even remember hearing music in the park! Weird!
Every time I read a TR about F&W i wish I could visit at that time. Not going to happen sadly as I teach here in the UK

The dishes look amazing and so nice to get little portions so you can try lots of different things!
That chocolate moose looked yummy too.
MK is my fave park but I must admit that Epcot is now second. It has improved so much and I think that there is just so much to do and see there now. I used to not be that bothered about the world showcase but i think that is because i used to just walk round. When you actually explore each country it comes to life. Only thing is the kids are not that fond of the world showcase (apart form the shop in Japan!) so makes it hard to have a good wander round.
Oh, that's too bad you can't go for Food and Wine!

It's definitely a lot of fun, but if I go again, I will be sure to avoid the weekend!
I love MK too, almost as much as Epcot, but Epcot will probably always be my favorite! I'm sure the WS is not too much fun for kids, but when they get older they will like it!
I really like the Epcot entrance music too. I just ripped it off of
youtube a couple days ago (along with some other park music...

). The first picture of SSE is so pretty!
How do you get music off of youtube???

I need to get Illuminations!!!
Thanks, I think every time we were leaving Epcot I turned around and took a few pics of Spaceship Earth! I did the same thing with the castle in MK!
I am joining in and reading along

DBF and I were considering going around November next year, we were pretty spoiled with low crowds in September, but it was HOT

thanks for joining! November is a great time to go, the weather is great and the crowds are pretty low (although we went in September in 2008 and I think they were lower then than they were this November)!
I'm all caught up on your updates now!

What a wonderful first day! I just love Epcot at night - I think it has the best atmosphere of all of the parks.

Can't wait to hear about your MK day!
Welcome back! I can't wait to read your TR, when are you starting???
Epcot definitely has the best atmosphere of all the parks, although I do like DHS a LOT at night, but it's still not as good as Epcot!

I can't wait to start my MK update, but I think I'll have to wait til tomorrow night!
