We All Want a Jar of Hunny!~A Nov. 2010 TR! *NEW October PTR 4/4, pg 42!!!*

Great update! Your first day sounds pretty great. :goodvibes Well, except for the drunk people. :scared: Unfortunately we ran into quite a few young people in Epcot who were more than happy to tell anyone who would listen how hammered they were. :sad2:

Glad to hear you made it back to the caramel shop. Can't wait to hear about it! :yay:

Looks like we ended up eating pretty much the same thing that night at Le Cellier! Sorry you had to wait so long. We waited awhile, but it was kind-of our own fault for being late. :guilty: (By the way, we looked around while we were eating too and never saw you guys. I think we were too far apart with too many people in between. We didn't see you until we were standing in the doorway to leave and did one last scan of the place.)

I love Epcot too and, since I got that 4 Parks, 1 World CD, I've found that I really like the entrance music too!

I get the feeling, based on various reviews I've seen, that some of the F&W booths are kind-of hit-or-miss, depending on the day/chef. The fondue one was not very good for us. Our potatoes were black and the cheese had a film over it. I'm guessing they did a better job with yours!

We never got to see British Invasion...that's still on my to-do list.

Can't wait to hear about your rope drop morning!

Oh, almost forgot, bummer about the drunk people. Surprisingly, we didn't run into any. Maybe because we were mostly doing F&W during the day. Hope you didn't have any more run-ins!

i know there are a million things I'm going to forget to comment on but while I'm thinking of it, I just wanted to mention the tea set you were looking at that you didn't want to carry. You could have had it shipped to your resort or even to Guest Relations at the front of the park, for free! We took advantage of that service a LOT during our trip!

That sucks that EoS was so packed! It's almost always packed like that when we go. You have to go really early in the morning or really late at night, like an hour or so before they close.

Glad you had a good meal at Le Cellier. And yes, I totally know what you mean by things being "Epcot-y" and it's definitely some great music (although I'm partial to AK's park soundtrack as well!). I wish I was listening to it right now!

Every time I read a TR about F&W i wish I could visit at that time. Not going to happen sadly as I teach here in the UK :( The dishes look amazing and so nice to get little portions so you can try lots of different things!

That chocolate moose looked yummy too.

MK is my fave park but I must admit that Epcot is now second. It has improved so much and I think that there is just so much to do and see there now. I used to not be that bothered about the world showcase but i think that is because i used to just walk round. When you actually explore each country it comes to life. Only thing is the kids are not that fond of the world showcase (apart form the shop in Japan!) so makes it hard to have a good wander round.

I really like the Epcot entrance music too. I just ripped it off of youtube a couple days ago (along with some other park music...:rolleyes1). The first picture of SSE is so pretty!

I am joining in and reading along :goodvibes DBF and I were considering going around November next year, we were pretty spoiled with low crowds in September, but it was HOT

I'm all caught up on your updates now! :goodvibes What a wonderful first day! I just love Epcot at night - I think it has the best atmosphere of all of the parks. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear about your MK day! popcorn::

AHH, I am so excited to try Le Cellier NEXT MONTH! I want to eat this mythical cheddar cheese soup!

Ugh, I can't stand drunks at Disney. That sounds bad, but they are so obnoxious. I understand wanting to have a good time, but is it necessary to get totally sloppy at a place that is packed with families and children?

I totally know what you mean about stuff at Epcot being Epcot-y. When I first went to Disney Epcot was my least favorite park because I wasn't crazy about the rides, but now that I have taken the time to explore all it has to offer it has become one of my favorites. There is just so much there! I could spend weeks in the WS. :cloud9:

OMG you're going to LOVE Le Cellier and the soup...and those bread sticks...I'm so jealous you're going to be eating there in a few weeks! :rotfl:

I don't get drunks at Disney either...drinking and having a good time is fine, whatever, but at least control yourself!

I seriously need to spend a majority of my Disney time in Epcot, it's just so much fun! I could walk around WS all night and not even go on any rides because I love that area so much! There's always something new to discover!

Jen, I love your Epcot update with LeCellier. I'm with you girl -- nothing tops the filet and the cream cheese mashed potatos, after a bowl of soup of course. Mark usually gets the MOOSE, but I always get the Chocolate on Chocolate Whiskey Cake. :worship:

Your pictures are very good (I had a terrible time with night time pictures at first, but they got better as I played more and more with the camera).

Looking forward to MK (and Brandon...no whining is allowed on vacation or sleeping in!).

Thanks! I was going to take pics from Le Cellier, but I figured enough people have taken pictures of the filet that everyone has probably seen it by now! I LOVE that moose...I always consider trying the maple creme brulee but I can never bring myself to do it!

Some pics are ok, but some are just awful at night...my camera just does not take good night pics when it doesn't want to! Sometimes I can get good pics, sometimes they're terrible! :rotfl:

If it's geeky of you guys to say "the beacons are lit", then it's super geeky of me to be sitting here thinking "The beacons are lit! Gondor calls for aid!" before you even get to the explanation of why you titled this part that :lmao:

LOL I was hoping someone would know what that was from! :rotfl2: I wish Universal would make a Lord of the Rings land like they did for HP!

i'm here! i'm going back to catch up!

Yay, :welcome:!

Oh, you're totally not crazy for saying things are Epcot-y. I totally get it! :lmao:

Le Cellier, yummy! Who doesn't get the filet?

Yay I'm glad people aren't thinking I'm crazy for saying things are Epcot-y! I was trying to think of a way to work that into a TR title, but I couldn't think of anything good!

I've tried other things at Le Cellier, the NY Strip and the prime rib, but there's nothing better than that filet!:worship:

Hi there! I just joined in and read up on your TR, Great Start! You and your hubby sound just like me and my hubby :) Meaning I am Disney obsessed...people think I'm insane because I know so much about WDW. So I know EXACTLY what you mean when you say Epcot-y:rotfl: It's like the 80s future, which I LOVE since I am a child of the 80s and remember going to Epcot when I was a kid! I expecially remember being aw-struck by the kid talking to the computer screen with someone's face on it from another country (I think it was in world of motion) and now you can do that on your Iphone :lmao: Anywho I'm rambling now! We are going on Saturday and I can't WAIT...your TR will tide me over until then :woohoo:

Hi, :welcome: thanks for joining!

I was just talking to my DH about trying to start figuring out when our next trip is going to be and he got so annoyed with me! He said Disney is all I talk about! :rotfl:

I love Epcot soooo much, I remember it from when I was a kid too, and I don't think I appreciated it as much as I do now! Especially the countries! I just remember liking Mexico because it had a boat ride!

Have a great trip, Saturday is almost here!

It definitely was a great day! The drunk people were obnoxious but I quickly forgot about them! I can't believe that people go up to random people to tell people how hammered they are, like anyone cares!

Looks like we ended up eating pretty much the same thing that night at Le Cellier! Sorry you had to wait so long. We waited awhile, but it was kind-of our own fault for being late. :guilty: (By the way, we looked around while we were eating too and never saw you guys. Oh, almost forgot, bummer about the drunk people. Surprisingly, we didn't run into any. Maybe because we were mostly doing F&W during the day. Hope you didn't have any more run-ins!

I think 99% of the people who go to Le Cellier get the same thing...the filet and mashed potatoes! Brandon didn't sub the risotto for the mashed potatoes though...he kept the risotto (he's obsessed with it, he's tried to recreate it at home!) AND he got a huge side of mashed potatoes...needless to say, it was a bad idea, he wasn't feeling too good once we got back to POR after eating so much!

I loved the fondue! The potatoes weren't the best, but dipped in the cheese they were good...I really loved that cheese, I recall a lot of people saying it wasn't very good but I liked it!

British Invasion are ok, they're fun to watch for a little while, but nothing to plan your day around!

I'm glad you didn't see any drunk people, luckily they were the worst ones we saw all weekend! I'm happy I didn't see anyone throw up either!

i know there are a million things I'm going to forget to comment on but while I'm thinking of it, I just wanted to mention the tea set you were looking at that you didn't want to carry. LOL I know, I should have just had the teapot shipped to my resort! I don't know why I didn't think of that, it slipped my mind! I did have something shipped home to me later in the trip (which I'm still waiting for, btw!) but I just forgot about it that night!

EoS has never been a problem for us until this trip, although we did try to go at the peak of lunch time! I love going there right before they close, it's gross eating a huge sandwich so late, but they're just so good, sometimes it can't be helped! :rotfl:

I don't think I've ever listened to AK's music! You know, now that I think about it, I don't think I even remember hearing music in the park! Weird!

Every time I read a TR about F&W i wish I could visit at that time. Not going to happen sadly as I teach here in the UK :( The dishes look amazing and so nice to get little portions so you can try lots of different things!

Oh, that's too bad you can't go for Food and Wine! :( It's definitely a lot of fun, but if I go again, I will be sure to avoid the weekend!

I love MK too, almost as much as Epcot, but Epcot will probably always be my favorite! I'm sure the WS is not too much fun for kids, but when they get older they will like it!

I really like the Epcot entrance music too. I just ripped it off of youtube a couple days ago (along with some other park music...:rolleyes1). The first picture of SSE is so pretty!

How do you get music off of youtube??? I need to get Illuminations!!!
Thanks, I think every time we were leaving Epcot I turned around and took a few pics of Spaceship Earth! I did the same thing with the castle in MK!

I am joining in and reading along :goodvibes DBF and I were considering going around November next year, we were pretty spoiled with low crowds in September, but it was HOT

:welcome: thanks for joining! November is a great time to go, the weather is great and the crowds are pretty low (although we went in September in 2008 and I think they were lower then than they were this November)!

I'm all caught up on your updates now! :goodvibes What a wonderful first day! I just love Epcot at night - I think it has the best atmosphere of all of the parks. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear about your MK day! popcorn::

Welcome back! I can't wait to read your TR, when are you starting??? :rotfl:

Epcot definitely has the best atmosphere of all the parks, although I do like DHS a LOT at night, but it's still not as good as Epcot! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to start my MK update, but I think I'll have to wait til tomorrow night!

I can't believe you skipped the caramel shop! Everything looks so good and it must smell so yummy in there.

All the stuff you tried at Food and Wine looks good esp. the baked ravioli. Brandon on the other hand eats some strange stuff.

It does smell really good in the caramel shop! I was going to get something, but there is just too much stuff to pick from to decide on one thing...and I wanted to eat more food and wine stuff, not fill up on caramel! :rotfl:

Yeah Brandon eats some really gross things...he said the escargot were some of the best things he's eaten in a while...ugh! :confused3

"It's all pure magic..."

Welcome to Day 2 of our trip, 11/13! If you followed my PTR (and memorized my itinerary :rotfl:) you will know that one of the things I was most excited to do during this trip was see the Magic Kingdom rope drop show! I know I mentioned it to Brandon countless times in during the 6 months of planning for this trip...but of course, the night before when I ask him what time he needs to get up to be out of the room by 8 so we can be at MK by 8:45, he asks why we have to get up early...ughhhh!!! I had to explain rope drop all over to him (he did NOT understand what it was) and I also told him if he wants breakfast he can either have something in MK, or we have to get up even earlier to eat at POR.

Well that morning, started the process of waking him up at 7, and we were out the door at 8:15. I was hoping we wouldn't have to park really far and wait for a tram, but luckily we parked as close as you can possibly park to the TTC and walked in!

IMG_1418.jpg

We got on the monorail pretty quickly and were on our way to MK...along the way we passed the Wilderness Lodge, where I tried to take a picture through the window

IMG_1419.jpg

We arrived at MK before we knew it! There were a lot of people just waiting for the rope drop show to begin, and we found a pretty good spot right in the middle of the turnstiles. We were waiting for a few minutes, when Brandon asked me why we were standing around, to which I told him, for the 1000th time "to see rope drop"...and he said "I don't know what that means'. So I told him to just stop asking me questions and just watch. Finally the "welcome, welcome, welcome" music started...and I immediately had tears in my eyes! I have been listening to that song on my Four Parks, One World cd's for months and not knowing what it was from, then I found out it was from MK rope drop and it all made sense! :rotfl: So hearing it in it's proper place was exciting to me!

The mayor came out

IMG_1420.jpg

and explained how we were opening MK that morning!

Then the citizens came out

IMG_1421.jpg

and did their little song and dance...and then the train finally pulled in to the station!

IMG_1423.jpg

Finally, Brandon seemed like he was enjoying himself when I told him the characters come out from the train...because at first he was just telling me how silly this was. :sad2:

Characters!!!

IMG_1424.jpg

IMG_1427.jpg

I was trying to get a good picture of Mickey, but he kept turning his head!

IMG_1428.jpg

More characters!

IMG_1429.jpg

Finally a good shot of Mickey!

IMG_1430.jpg

Finally after the streamers where thrown (which I didn't get pictures of, because I didn't want to be playing with my camera for that part, sorry!) MK was open! I got my first look at the castle

IMG_1432.jpg

and we just kind of hung out on Main Street for a few minutes! We saw a photopass photographer taking pictures of people holding Tinkerbell, and I have always wanted one of those pics, so we got in line for that...the pics are ok, but, well, I just wish I was skinnier! Oh well, next trip!

Photo0011FourBySix.jpg

After we were finished with our pictures, Brandon asked me where he could get breakfast and I had no idea...so I had to look on my WDW dining ap and told him they had Mickey waffles at Sleepy Hollow, hoping that would be good enough, because there aren't many breakfast options at MK! Luckily he agreed, so we went to Sleepy Hollow! While he was ordering, I took a picture of the castle

IMG_1436.jpg

:lovestruc I really love that picture!

Brandon got his Mickey waffle

IMG_1437.jpg

and I got a funnel cake, even though I wasn't hungry, and I only ended up eating less than half of it...I gave the rest to Brandon! Once we were finished eating, I wanted him to take a picture of me in front of the castle, and he was getting ready to, and a CM walked by and asked if he wanted to be in the picture also, so we got this pic

IMG_1439.jpg

which you will recognize from the beginning of this TR!

Up next, more MK!

:yay: You made rope drop! I'm glad you got Brandon there, even if he wasn't overly enthused about it. I love that music too...it's my favorite thing to listen to from those CDs!

Cute Photopass pics...I like the Tink shot!

Making rope drop at Magic Kingdom is one of my goals for my future trips. I do not recall ever seeing it.

great picture!! I can't remember the last time it was that I went to rope drop. It always seems like we're at MK at night for EMH and never in the morning. I know when we used to go on week long vacations before I worked at WDW, we would do AM EMH there but that's about it! We tend to do morning parks at the other 3 instead. Great pics of it though!!

Yay for rope drop! The only rope drop I have ever seen was AK so I need to see MK's this trip!

By the way, you are beautiful and your pictures are great!

Yummy...Mickey waffles are so simple, yet so delicious!

I just finished page 3 and I can't tell you how much fun it is to read a TR after all those days of not Dis'ing.

Wow - I'm surprised how super crowded it is. That's tough! I hope the crowds loosen up. What's up with the world's smallest beers. Silly! But that slushie looks so good.

What - no pictures of snooki? :rotfl: Where her fans surrounding her too tightly. :rotfl:

Your room looks lovely and I love Oak Manor. Can't wait to see your view.

Will catch up soon.

I'm on board. I'm enjoying the TR so far - and looking forward to many more posts.

First - I so appreciate the fact you place links for your updates. It makes it much easier for those of us who don't always have time to read each and every response to a post.
Second - your pictures and description of rope drop at MK is fantastic! We've never done this before, but it is a must on our itinerary in January.

There's something about the pictures you took of Spaceship Earth in Epcot that just gave me tingles and the same giddiness when I'm actually in the park. You have me so geeked now I can hardly contain my excitement. LOL

We decided to return the beginning of next month to hope for a low attendance - only to find out it backfired in a way. Splash Mtn (my favorite) and Kali Rapids will be down for the month!

Thanks for several greats posts - read you soon!:surfweb:

I love the picture with you holding Tink. I was on the lookout for photopass people last trip and they were never around unless it was so busy I didn't notice them.

I don't remember having a funnel cake :confused3 I am not even sure that I have ever , in my entire life, had one? Is it kind of like fried dough?

Main Street looks so pretty with all the x-mas decorations esp. the wreaths. I tried to convince John that we should just get AP and fly down for a quick weekend in Oct. and Dec so I could just knock out seeing the Halloween and x-mas decorations and be done with it, but he didn't seem to like that idea for some reason.

Rope drop looks cute. I want to see it next time too. I'm sure John and Caitlin will wonder why we are standing around even though I explain it 100 times.
