We All Want a Jar of Hunny!~A Nov. 2010 TR! *NEW October PTR 4/4, pg 42!!!*

I'm late, as usual. But I'm here now and will come back later to catch up.

Hi, I'm subbing! Your trip sounds wonderful so far, and I agree, November is an excellent time to visit if you're looking for low crowds.

I'm here! :goodvibes Great start! Your comment about the boy with the Justin Bieber hair had me cracking up!

I'm so glad you got your request at POR! I'm getting so excited to stay there and your pics are definitely adding to my excitement!

Can't wait for the next update! popcorn::

Hi!! :cool1: POR was beautiful, you're going to love it there! I took more pics of it, they will be scattered throughout the report!

I'm going to do my next update shortly!

I'm in!!!! Enjoying your report already!

:welcome: Thanks for joining!

I'm late, as usual. But I'm here now and will come back later to catch up.

LOL you're not late, it barely even started! :rotfl: Glad you're here!

Hi, I'm subbing! Your trip sounds wonderful so far, and I agree, November is an excellent time to visit if you're looking for low crowds.

:welcome: Thanks for joining! I love going in November, although, this November was a little more crowded than last year! I think the secret about the week before Thanksgiving is getting out!

We're eating lunch where??? Ughhh!!!

Arrival Day part 2!

Once we were settled in to POR, we decided to go get some lunch and then go to a nearby Publix to get a few things for our room for the week. There was only one place I wanted to go for lunch...Earl of Sandwich!

If you followed my PTR, you know how much I LOVE EoS! :cool1: And Brandon does too, so he agreed. Even though we had the option of taking the boat to Downtown Disney, we drove, since we didn't feel like wasting a lot of time!

When we got to DTD, it was packed! There were signs saying the parking lots were full so we had to just circle around until someone left. Finally we parked and walked in.

IMG_1343.jpg

I noticed how crazy it was, but I didn't care, I was too busy thinking about what sandwich I would get at EoS! Would I get my standard tuna melt or would I be adventurous and get the Holiday sandwich?

Well I'd never get to decide because once we got to EoS, it became pretty clear that we were not eating there! The line was practically out the door...I've never seen it that busy! There were no tables inside or out, and the line was not moving. So Brandon took one look at it and said "yeah forget this" and started walking towards the parking lot. He was instantly in a bad mood, and I told him I warned him this weekend would be busy because of the end of Food and Wine and the Festival of the Masters at DTD, but he didn't want to hear it! :confused3

So we left and drove in the opposite direction of Disney to find the Publix and saw and Uno Pizzeria. Brandon asked if I wanted to eat there...no I don't want to eat at Uno, I have an Uno at home 5 minutes from my house, I want something from Disney! But I didn't feel like arguing, so I said fine.

I haven't been to Uno in a while, and it was surprisingly good, but it wasn't as good as EoS would have been! :rotfl: Thankfully Brandon snapped out of his bad mood after we ate and went to Publix, and we went back to POR to rest before Epcot that night!

I'm going to continue this update in a second, but I want to do it in a separate post!

Look, it's Snooki

Arrival Day part 3!

Around 4:30 we were finally rested enough and ready to go to Epcot. We always try to do Epcot on our first and last nights of our Disney trips, I don't know why, it just works out that way, and it's our favorite park! So I was practically jumping out of my seat with excitement when I saw the Epcot entrance

IMG_1344.jpg

I don't remember where we parked, but I think we were close enough to walk in without taking the tram. As we get through the bag check, I'm just trying to take in the lovely Epcot sights and hear the first few notes of "Legacy", and I hear Brandon say "look it's Snooki". (Let me just tell you, my friend told me the night before that Snooki was gonna be in Disney at the same time and I never thought I'd see her :sad2:) So I look over to my right, and sure enough, there's Snooki with like 5 other people surrounding her. She looked, well, not friendly. Like if you approached her she would be a total b$@%&. But I could be wrong. :confused3 There were maybe 10 teen girls who all had the same cheerleader shirts on, freaking out about Snooki, one even said she's my idol...needless to say, once we got through the turnstiles, I went in the opposite direction! :rotfl:

Trying to forget about the Snooki sighting, I took some pics of Spaceship Earth

IMG_1346.jpg

We got a photopass picture here, but I didn't get my CD in the mail yet (even though I ordered it Sunday and did express shipping!! Grrr!) but once I do I'll put the picture in...although it's not very good from what I remember!

We slowly walked made our way around SE

IMG_1347.jpg

IMG_1348.jpg

IMG_1349.jpg

and made our way to World Showcase for...the Food and Wine festival!! :cool1:

They have the same beautiful tree up as last year (and probably every other year before that!) as you enter World Showcase

IMG_1350.jpg

We were wondering which way to go, when I remembered...the first thing I had to get at Food and Wine was at the France booth, so we started walking towards France...here's a crowd pic!

IMG_1354.jpg

It was pretty crowded but not as bad as I was expecting!

We walked by some really interesting looking booths, but I had to get to France so we just kept walking!

IMG_1356.jpg

Almost there!

IMG_1357.jpg

Finally!

IMG_1358.jpg

Brandon got in line and ordered for us and I finally had what I've been reading about for what seems like forever...

IMG_1360.jpg

a Parisian Cosmo slush (and merlot for Brandon)!

It is definitely the best slush out of all of them in France, I wish they had this year round, but I can understand just busting it out for a special occasion I guess! If it wasn't so cold and didn't take so long to drink, I would have had another! Then again, it was pretty strong!

Brandon also got the escargots

IMG_1359.jpg

which he loved, but I wasn't brave enough to try! :confused3

Once we were finished in France, we moved over to the Belgium booth

IMG_1362.jpg

where Brandon got mussels...and the world's tiniest beer

IMG_1363.jpg

IMG_1366.jpg

It's like the size of a bathroom cup! :rotfl: I didn't get anything in Belgium, since there were 2 other booths I was waiting for, but I did try the mussels, which were much better than I expected. I wouldn't eat them on a daily basis but they were surprisingly good!

Up next...more food and wine festival fun!

No Mama Melrose for us...Todd cancelled it and we went to Via Napoli instead (100% better :thumbsup2)

I agree with you about DTD! We pulled in around 7:45 and it took FOREVER to find a spot. We were going to eat at EoS or WPE but we had to park at the complete other end and wound up walking in to WPC and sitting at the sushi bar.

When we went back to DTD the next week we took the bus, no way did we want to deal with that parking nightmare again!

I know what you mean about eating at WDW, I wouldnt want to venture off to chain places either ;)

I am here now & all caught up!!! Stupid yahoo moved all my subscriptions to my spam folder. I would have done the same thing as you seeing Snooki there. I don't watch Jersey Shore, but I have heard stories about her. Not someone I would want to see! Can't wait to read more!

Awww, boo to not being able to have your EoS! That must've been very disappointing, but thankfully, your Uno lunch was good! I hope that you get back to EoS some time during your trip!

HAHA, how could someone say that Snooki is her idol?!? My younger uncle was talking about her on Sunday though. He said that as crazy as she is, she's really "smart" because she made her 15 minutes of fame last way longer than just 15 minutes. He said that because they have the Snooki wigs for Halloween costumes, she's "famous"! Anyway, recently Mike the Situation or whatever his name is was at my local Barnes & Nobles. I was disgusted that he was so close to me, haha. Glad I didn't decide to head to B&N that day!

Mmm, I don't drink because I can't handle alcohol, but that drink does look rather yummy!

I'm sorry you weren't able to eat at EoS! We went there in January and while I really enjoyed my food I didn't like that they don't have that many tables. Since we experienced such low crowds then, I can't imagine what it would be like during the last F&W weekend!

I can't believe you saw Snooki! Haha, that is hilarious. :lmao: I'm loving the F&W pics! That cosmo slush looks yummy. :thumbsup2

great update!!! I can't believe you saw Snooki haha. My brother told me that day that his friends at Test Track texted him and said that she rode the ride several times and was with Guest Relations people. That's funny that you saw her that day too!!! I'm glad to see you sampled more things at food and wine than I did haha.

Sorry about EOS :( I've been in a line out the door before to eat there and it usually goes pretty quickly but I guess not that day :( I think I know the UNO you're talking about, it's across from DTD in Crossroads?? I've never eaten there but a few of my roommates did when I lived there!

All caught up. Sorry you didn't get EOS on your arrival (we've been very fortunate and never gone to DTD when it has been that crowded and were always able to find parking). I have no idea who Snooki is...but she doesn't sound very nice. :confused3 F&W sounds good (love the looks of the Slushie.

Looking forward to more.

I just read all of your dining reviews...Via Napoli looks amazing! We were standing outside of that restaurant about 3 different times during the week, and there was obviously not a problem getting in, but we just never went for some reason! I'm definitely going next time! :cool1:

DTD was insane!!! I've never seen it like that, I can't imagine what it's like in the summer and during peak times! :rotfl:

Yay, glad you're here! :goodvibes LOL, it was strange seeing Snooki, of all people...it couldn't be someone I would actually want to see! :rotfl2:

It was pretty disappointing not getting to go to EoS that first day, but trust me, I love EoS so much there's no way that's our only trip there! :rotfl:

I don't know, I was baffled when I heard that girl say that about Snooki...I almost wanted to turn around and be like "are you kidding me, why???" but I didn't think that would go over well...:rotfl: Snooki was a really popular Halloween costume this year, unfortunately! I'm surprised the Situation was in a book store, what could he possibly want there?

I'm not a big drinker, but I love to try the drinks they have at Epcot, that slush was fantastic! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry you weren't able to eat at EoS! We went there in January and while I really enjoyed my food I didn't like that they don't have that many tables. Since we experienced such low crowds then, I can't imagine what it would be like during the last F&W weekend!

We have never had a problem at EoS before that weekend, there have always been tables available, even when it's been busy! They should really move that store they have next door, the little kitchen store and put tables in there!

I took lots of F&W pics, it was a lot of fun being there at that time and sampling all the different things! :)

I can't believe I saw her either, what are the odds, knowing how big Disney is! :rotfl: But of course, I'm sure she had fun at the Food and Wine fest! :woohoo:

I wouldn't have minded waiting in the EoS line, but my DH just does not do lines. If there are more than like 5 people in a line, he freaks out! :confused3 And I wanted to make sure we could sit somewhere and every table was taken so it was better to just find a different place to eat!

That is the Uno we went to, in Crossroads! We were driving to the Publix and just saw it, and we were so hungry that we just stopped there! It was good but I just didn't like my first meal being a non Disney restaurant! :rotfl2:

mmmmmmmm that slushie looks heavenly!

OMG it definitely was! It was like a grown up slurpie! :cool1:

LOL, Snooki is on Jersey Shore, which I admit, I do watch, but she is just ridiculous, she's like a cartoon character, you look at her and hear the things she says and you wonder how she is actually real.

F&W was so much fun, everything was sooo good! There will be more in my next update, which hopefully I will do tomorrow! :)

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! :goodvibes

I'm super late (please forgive me :guilty:) but I'm here! I'm going to go catch up right now, I just wanted to post and apologize for my tardiness.

Okay I'm all caught up now! I'm sorry you didn't get to eat lunch at EoS. That's a bummer! But it sounds like your evening at Epcot is already making up for a boring Uno lunch! :)

Hahaha, I can't believe you saw Snooki! That is the most hilarious/random "celebirty" sighting. :rotfl: When I read that the girl said that Snooki was her idol I just shook my head and said, "Bless her heart." That is one confused child.

Oh man, that slushie looks AMAZING! :lovestruc I can't wait to see more F&W pics!

You're not late, don't worry, glad you're here!

OMG the Food and Wine fest is so amazing...I wish we had more time there, and I almost wish we didn't have our Le Cellier ADR for that night so we could have kept eating, everything was so yummy!

You know what is so funny, before we were leaving to go to Epcot that night, we had on CNN (Disney has a serious lack of tv channels, so I ended up watching either the news or the weather channel most of the time, when Brandon would get sick of me watching Stacey!) and they were talking about how it's not good that girls are watching these reality shows and trying to be like the people on them, and how they are having too much of an influence, and then we go to Epcot and hear this girl say that about Snooki! Weird! :rotfl:

The slush was amazing, I can't believe I only had one, but like I said, I don't drink a lot, so if I had another, I would have been one of those people you would read about in other TR's, stumbling all over Epcot, not being able to handle F&W! :rotfl:

I'm going to try to get another update done before Brandon gets up, we'll see how that goes!

More Food and Wine fun!

Arrival Day part 4!

After we were finished in Belgium, we made our way past Japan

IMG_1368.jpg

and went to the Hops and Barley booth

IMG_1369.jpg

where Brandon got that ridiculously over priced lobster roll and we both got little cups of beer...I think we both had Octoberfest.

IMG_1371.jpg

(I could not stop laughing when he was trying to take a picture of me drinking that tiny beer, this is seriously the best shot we could get, and it's awful! :rotfl:)

After Hops and Barley, we made it to the Italy booth, which I was looking forward to ever since I saw the F&W menus!

IMG_1375.jpg

Brandon didn't get anything from Italy, but I got the baked ravioli

IMG_1376.jpg

and OMG can I just tell you how amazing this was??? It was SO good I immediately wanted to go get like 2 more and just stuff myself with them! :rotfl:

Next we stopped in Germany for a minute because I had to at least look inside the new caramel shop...here is a pic of the window display in there

IMG_1379.jpg

It smells so fantastic in that store, it's unbelievable! I wanted to try something, but I seriously could not decide, so I just skipped it that night! :confused3

After I pulled myself away from the caramel shop, we walked past by lots of booths that looked SO good to get to one specific one...

IMG_1380.jpg

Poland! I am Polish, so I just had to stop here! They had kielbasa and pierogies, which I was really excited about, since I'm pretty familiar with those things :rotfl:

IMG_1381.jpg

OMG they were SO good! Brandon got a plate as well, and we both devoured them! I thought about getting another plate...but I knew we had that Le Cellier ADR later so I didn't want to be too stuffed!

After we ate, I really wanted to go on Maelstrom, but the line was kind of long, so we went to Mexico instead

IMG_1382.jpg

As much as I love the WS, I can't stand the area by Mexico, especially with the new restaurant there, it's always SO crowded and insane, no matter how low the crowds are! Oh well, it's still really pretty!

We went inside, where we considered getting a margarita, but the line was crazy, so we went to the Gran Fiesta tour, which is one of my favorites! It said there was a 5 minute wait, but it was really a walk on! :cool1:

IMG_1385.jpg

IMG_1386.jpg

IMG_1387.jpg

Once we were finished in Mexico, apparently, according to my notes, we went to the Mexico booth and Brandon got a churro, but I have no photo evidence of this! :rotfl:

After the Mexico booth, we finally went to Norway to go on Maelstrom! It was about a 15-20 minute wait, but it went by pretty quickly! I was excited when we got to sit in the front of the boat (yes little things like that make me happy!)

IMG_1389.jpg

Maelstrom is so much fun and so strange! I love how you have to walk through the shops to get out, that perfume that they sell is to die for! I considered buying a bottle, but then I figured it would remind me too much of Disney on a daily basis, and according to Brandon, I'm already too obsessed as it is! :rotfl2:

Up next...one more F&W stop and Le Cellier!

Great start...thanks for the chapter links too-it makes it so much easier to find your posts. :thumbsup2

LOL about seeing Snooki. Kind of strange some of the girls say that she's their idol.

And yes, the Christmas tree at Epcot is the same one every year. ;) hehe

another great update!!!!! My friend has the perfume! It's expensive though! She waited until we got our cast holiday discount (50% off in stores) and then bought it. It doesn smell good!!

All your food and wine pics makes me wish we had gotten food and wine but the lines were just too long on Sat and we were stuffed from France on Monday. Next time, we will have to build in more food and wine time!
