YC. It was a spur-of-the-moment trip, and we requested connecting rooms. On check in, our standard view rooms were a few rooms apart. I went back down to see if they had any rooms closer together, and the desk manager moved us to two connecting water-view rooms, over my (not too-strenuous) objections.

Needless to say, YC is our favorite Epcot-area resort now. We were thankful for his generosity, and made sure to mention that in our letter to Guest Relations.

I've never gotten one, but I don't mind. Both last year and this upcoming trip we are at POR, and there really isn't much to be upgraded to...LOL! Last year we booked standard and had a great room location I was very pleased with. This year I know we'll be in AB because we are 5, so I did request ground floor because we have a stroller.
In the past I've just paid for the level I wanted.
Sounds like fun for alot of you!!

This past January, we stayed @ Poly, fiance paid for Garden View, but he had noted on the reservation, that he brought me to WDW to propose We were upgraded to (I guess they call it) Theme Park view? We had the castle right in front of us, GF wedding pavillion on our left and CR on the right. It was lovely!

Two weeks ago, upgraded from Standard CL View to the most AMAZING Pool/Lake/Resort view I have EVER seen at the Beach Club! It was SOOOO nice!!!

when you check in do they say you have been up graded or do you find out when you go to your room and it's nicer then you were expecting it to be? This is my 7th trip (staying on at WDW) I'm hoping it's lucky #7 for an up grade.
I will be on the plane 3 weeks from right now!!

When we were upgraded at WL the CM told us that we'd be on the the CL floor. At BC, the CM at check-in didn't tell us we'd been upgraded but as we were approaching the room there was a CM in the hall and he said, "ooh, that room has a great view." At Poly, I knew it was an upgrade when the CM pulled out our KTTW cards and they were gold.

Also it was a split stay, about 3 days each resort and we cashed in dh frequent fllyer miles with aa, so this whole trip was $89, yes $89 TOTAL!!

Resort: Polynesian (faxed request for 3rd floor Samoa garden view, telling them it was our anniversary
Upgrade : Concierge, Hawaii Bldg.
Event: Anniversary

Resort (Split Stay) Yacht Club (only booked standard view)
Upgrade: Concierge
Occasion : Anniversary (I did not tell them this, but assume they knew from the Polynesian)

So for 6 days we had concierge for a grand total of $89

You win.

We didn't request an upgrade but had sent Disney a letter explaining that it was our anniversary and a second honeymoon. We drove into the parking lot and were met by a CM who told us to follow her as we had been upgraded to concierge level. We were so pleased and it was such a great surprise. We are heading to AKL and would love for the same thing to happen!

I'm not sure if this is a typical upgrade, but the room was definitely bigger than other Sugarloaf rooms we've stayed in.
