Hi everyone! I'm awake at almost 2am updating my PTR because I have been agonizing for days over my title.

For those of you joining this party already in progress, my previous title was "North and South" Does Disney. This was my title because originally it was going to be my DH and I ("The South" because we're from NC) going with my cousin and his GF ("The North" because they're from PA). Oh yeah, and because I'm obsessed with Patrick Swayze. :lovestruc

Well, my Patrick Swayze obsession hasn't changed, but our plans have. It turns out my cousin and his GF will not be able to make it on our trip. So I'm left with this title that now makes no sense and six more months to look at it before I leave.

What to do...what to do...well, you know what they say, my DIS friends! When life gives you a dilemma, you make DILEMMANADE! :rotfl: So that's exactly what I did. I thought and I thought and then I thought a little more. I literally lay in the bed staring at the ceiling for hours trying to think of a new title. And finally, it hit me!

"We Ain't From Around Here!" The South Does Disney!

All of my helpful friends here on the DIS advised that I should keep "The South" in my title somewhere. I agreed with them completely because they are all brilliant and because I am a southern girl to my core. I feel like that basically defines DH and me, so it needed to be in the title! :goodvibes

At first I was going to go with "Well Butter My Butt And Call Me A Biscuit!" because that is one of my favorite expressions. But it was too long and I felt bad putting "butt" in my title. So I decided on "We Ain't From Around Here!". Here's why:

Everytime DH and I travel (I'm not kidding you, I mean literally every single time) people ask us where we're from. We have pretty noticeable southern accents, and I guess they make us stick out like a couple of sore thumbs. So one of us always responds with, "we ain't from around here!" :rotfl: It's kind of turned into our private joke because it just makes us sound even more southern. And it's really funny because I'm a high school English teacher and if I caught any of my students saying that I would have a cow. Gotta love those double standards! :lmao:

Anyway, there you have it, folks! My new PTR title! I must say I'm pretty pleased with it, although I will miss my subtle Patrick Swayze reference. Oh well! You can't win them all!

See ya real soon! :smickey:

Yay, love the new title! :cool1: Like how you kept the South part in and added your own little saying in there as well! I totally understand wanting your PTR title to be a good one, I agonized over mine for days too, before I decided on the one I have!

People ask my DH and I where we are from all the time, and most of the time they think we are from Boston because my DH is always wearing Red Sox hats. Which turns into a discussion about the Red Sox, and then he has to explain that yes, he is from Boston, but he moved to CT when he was in middle school, and that I've always lived in CT, blah blah blah. I just tune him out when he starts telling people that story, he can't just admit that he lives in CT now, he's so proud of being from Boston! :rotfl: We always seem to run into a lot of people from MA when we are in Disney! :confused3

You have more than 1 PTR? I am so confused lol

Nope, just the one! I just changed the title! You probably saw it while it was in transition last night which is why it was confusing! :)

Thanks girl! I'm glad you like it! It was tough coming up with one for sure! Everyone's titles are always so good so I was feeling the pressure to come up with a good one! I'm glad I'm not the only one who agonized over it for a while. Your titles are always awesome! :goodvibes

That's awesome that you run into a lot of people from MA at Disney! We hardly ever meet anyone from NC. Or from the south at all, because everyone is always fascinated by our accents. :rotfl: My family from PA always says, "Yins talk funny!" I think that's like a western PA/Pittsburgh thing, but it cracks me up. I'm always like, "Really? We talk funny? I'm pretty sure ya'll just called us yins!" :lmao:

Hi everyone! My name is Stacy and I'm Joni's sister. She talked me into joining the boards because I am a Disney fanatic too! I've only been twice but I would go all the time if I could.

I'm excited about meeting new people who understand the love and who would never roll their eyes when I tried to talk about it.

Joni, your report is very entertaining so far! Too bad about Josh and Wendy, but you and John will have a great time. Reading all this reminds me of fun times when we went to Disney for spring break (and we DID do Turtle Talk with Crush on that trip, Dorkus!)

Can't wait until we finish mapping our your dining reservations with the help of my super organized list tomorrow. So exciting!

Actually, it's yinz, which is even worse. At least ya'll makes sense!

YAY!! :welcome: I'm so excited you finally joined!! This is my awesome big sister, everybody! :woohoo: You are featured earlier in my PTR, did you see?

I can't believe I forgot about Turtle Talk. I guess I blocked it out of my memory because now that you remind me it was not a pleasant experience! :rotfl:

Thank you so much for helping me plan my ADRs! I can't wait to make them on Tuesday. Here's hoping I get everything I want, or we might be making another list!! :scared1:

Yinz is so weird! Gotta love those crazy northerners!

I love the new title and the explanation! I always use words that I tell my students not to use. I hate when they begin sentences with "So", but I find myself doing that from time to time. I justify it because I am not writing a formal paper and they are! =)

Hi everyone! I am officially down to less than six months until my trip! Tomorrow is ADR day! :woohoo: Today is a very special day too, because it is my two year wedding anniversary! I promised Rachel (RachelNinja) that I would post some pictures from my wedding, and I thought that today would be an appropriate day to do that!

Now, please keep in mind that these are not my professional pictures. Except for the first one I'm going to post, these pictures were all taken by a family friend. So, without further ado...

John and Joni Russell- June 28, 2008- "Happily Ever After"

This is the one professional picture I have on the computer! Our first kiss as husband and wife! :lovestruc

Here is our guestbook when you entered the reception. That's my bouquet in the upper corner. I loved it so much I would have slept with it if I could! :rotfl:

wedding5.jpg

Our gift table before the reception began! The little bride and groom mickey are from my awesome sister, Stacy (SassyFrass). We did the Disney Honeymoon registry for our honeymoon and it was awesome! I highly recommend that to anyone taking a Disneymoon!

Our napkins! Our wedding colors were light pink and sage green.

A close up of the table decorations at the reception. See the little glass slipper? Those were the wedding favors!

The cake topper! It's hard to tell in this picture, but it had a little light in it that made it look really cool. I loved it! :lovestruc

wedding6.jpg

John and I cutting our cake! Obviously that requires a lot of concentration on my part!

wedding7.jpg

John with cake smeared on his face. Who could have done that? :rolleyes1

wedding9.jpg

My beautiful mommy and daddy at the church!

My two best friends in the world-Jessy and my sister, Stacy!

Leaving the reception! We had little packets of these heart shaped thingies for people to throw at us that were safe for the birds to eat.

:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

There you have it! My wonderful wedding to the most amazing man on the planet! And it was followed by a perfect Disneymoon!

Stay tuned, because I'll be back tomorrow with ADRs and a daily schedule! :goodvibes

Thanks! I'm glad you like it! :goodvibes I'm glad I'm not the only one out there who does that! You're exactly right- there's a huge difference between a formal paper and conversational spoken language. That's my argument and I'm sticking to it!

You know this already, but I love the wedding pics!!!! Happy anniversary Joni!!!! Here is to many more wonderful years to come!
