That is VERY exciting! I know you've been wishing for one, and now it's on the books! Are you doing the week after Christmas to NYE?

CONGRATS on the December trip!!!!That is VERY exciting! I know you've been wishing for one, and now it's on the books! Are you doing the week after Christmas to NYE?
For those of you who have never been to MK for rope drop, YOU HAVE TO GO!!! The show, along with the soundtrack, is so cheerful you can't help smiling.![]()
Your December trip will be so much fun! Saratoga Springs seems like such a nice Resort! And I loved their walk-in pool by the main building!
Oooh what a fun list!
I love that 'Remember the Magic' parade song! It always gets in my head!
The Fantasmic music always gives me goosebumps while we're there.
Of course, Wishes gives me goosebumps too! When we're standing there watching Wishes, that's a moment I wish would last forever.
Love the list!!
Completely agree- Wishes gets me misty every time! And Splash Mountain-- just brings a smile to the face!!
I LOVE this list! Every Aerosmith song reminds me of the Rock N Roller Coaster! Soarin would be my favorite too and that part of Fantasmic always makes me sniff back the tears. All those characters on the boats!
The Splash Mountain song was a hoot to listen to... my head was bopping back and forth.I think I'm going to get me some Disney soundtracks for my van.

Love the new list! Out of all of it, I immediately clicked on the Splash Mountain Medley for some reason. It's strange because even though I really enjoy the ride, that's the one that gets me nervous. I'm still going to get Weird to go on it though! My thing lately is listening to park audio like this because I want to be able to sing it while there. Haha, that probably sounds weird of me. I'm determined to learn at least the beginning of "Walking Down the Middle of Main Street," but I listen to these things when I do my lesson plans, so I'm never paying attention to the words! I guess that's what I have to do in the time before my trip!
Still hoping that somehow, somewhere, our paths will cross![]()
I'm one of those people who has never been to MK to see the opening show! I never watched it on YouTube either because a lot of recordings are bad. But I clicked the one you posted and at one point, I started getting misty-eyed! Haha, I can't help but laugh at myself, but wow, it really was so magical! I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes and smiling like a goon. Thanks Sarah, hehe![]()
i'm here! can't wait to hear more!!
Great new list!!! Love the Wishes soundtrack and the Magic Kingdom Opening Song!!!I agree!! We love MK at rope drop....it's a must see!!!
It's so funny.. we have listened to that Splash Mountain Melody a ton of times on You tube!! It's one of the boys favorite rides so they are always so excited to hear it!! Thanks for posting it....we had fun listening to it again!!!![]()
I'm going to have to jot down the days for EMH so that we avoid the AM ones because I've read that the parks are crowded. Hehe, unless I can blend in and be Rachel M.
I'm actually looking forward to doing Jungle Cruise this year too. Normally we skip it because we used to do it all the time when I was younger, and I guess we got bored with it or didn't want to wait. I want to look for some of those hidden things from the Hidden Magic book though! I want to see if I can hear the "I love disco" or whatever is said!
OH NO OH NO OH NO!!! I can't believe they changed the narration for the TTA! I'm so upset! That's my all-time favorite ride!!! Agh! I just listened to the new one on YouTube, and I'm thoroughly disappointed. I know I'll still like the ride itself, but the narration is definitely a big part of it. I remember the first time I heard the Mr. Morrow part ... I was so excited that I had heard and I giggled about it for so long!
Weird and I recently watched Snow White too! I too am looking forward to the ride because now I'll actually know the scenes, haha. And I also recently read a kiddie version of Walt's biography, so I learned about the movie gamble too! It'll be fun to ride it ... though I know I might still be a little scared, haha.
I know I have way too much stuff on my list of to do things ... it's pretty much everything! Except maybe Space Mountain (I'm just not crazy about it, although I would like to ride it just because of the refurb) and definitely NOT Country Bear because of the buffalo head on the wall. But it might be a wise idea to list the must-dos so I can prioritize!
Oooh, park plans.Yeah I've heard Space Mountain is jerky now but I can't wait to check it out anyway. And TTA... always a great way to take a break.
We haven't seen the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It parade yet either.... we assumed we'd see it on our second MK day and then it got rained out.We still haven't been to TSI or seen the Country Bear Jamorbee... four trips and still so much to do!!
for under two months!!
Great plans!!We're excited to ride Space Mountain trip!! This will be our first time riding it...it went down the week we were there last April.
The Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! Parade is so much fun!! The music is so catchy!!
I think we are going to try Tom Sawyer Island this trip. Another new thing for us! I think the boys will really like it!!![]()
OK, so as promised here comes my next Top Ten list!
As you know all to well by now, we've been going to Disney World as long as I can remember. We went for the first time when I was five years oldand each time we go I love it even more. Since we've taken so many trips, we've seen a lot of attractions come and go. I thought for this list I'd share some of my favorite attractions of years past. So here goes...click on the name of the attraction to see a youtube video!
Sarah's Top Ten Extinct Disney attractions!
10. Mousekemaze
This was a little attraction in Mickey's Starland that my sisters and I loved. It was basically a kid-sized maze with these water spouts in them and everyone would run around trying to cover up the spouts. LOL! Really pointless but hey, we were little and thought it was a blast. I'll have to see if I can find the picture of me in it and upload it.
9. Pasta Piazza
OK, so this is not really an attraction, just a restaurant at Epcot. It used to be where the Electric Umbrella is now and it was sooo good. Best part was Mickey shaped pasta.
8. Mickey's Starland Show
Before Toontown Fair came about, it was called Mickey's Starland. We saw this show on one of our first trips and being that I was 5 or so, I LOVED this show...it was pretty much based off all the old Disney Afternoon shows like Gummi Bears and Tale Spin. I was so obsessed with the girl who was the host (strangely enough, I think her name was Stacy! haha! ETA: OK, just watched some of the video, the girl's name was not Stacy it was CJ. CJ, Stacy, sounds kind of the same...) that I kind of wanted to be her. I couldn't wait to go see it again on our next trip so I could see her. Well, guess what they decided to do? Get a new girl!
That definitely disappointed me.
7. Aladdin Parade
In the early-mid '90s MGM always had parades for the newest movies. I remember them having other parades for Mulan and Toy Story. The Aladdin one was fun. It had some neat floats, like the elephant version of Abu with Aladdin and Jasmine riding atop on the magic carpet. If you've ever seen the Full House episodes in Disney World, the huge genie that Michelle awakens to become "princess for a day" was in that parade.
6. Legend of the Lion King
Formerly where Philharmagic is now. LOTLK was an amazing show that featured HUGE puppets and it of course told the story of The Lion King.
5. The Skyway
Kind of like the TTA, it was just one of those relaxing rides. Plus it was pretty cool getting to see the Magic Kingdom from the air!
4. Tapestry of Dreams Parade
We only saw this once but it was such a cool parade with all those larger-than-life puppets. And again, it had a great soundtrack!
3. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Mr. Toad isn't totally extinct since they still have it at Disneyland but I still miss it at Disney World. Don't get me wrong, I love The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh but Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was a classic! The one scene I remember the most is where you're in your car and get "hit" by a train!
2. Remember the Magic Parade
This was the parade for Disney World's 25th anniversary and I think this might be when I first really got the Disney bug. Not really sure why but I think the song might've had something to do with it. Soooo cute. "Your heart could just take wing, you could live out all your dreams, no matter how no matter when, you reach that world again...it's like a dream come true, that lives inside of you...it's time to remember the magic!" Totally random but I have the song on my ipod and was listening to it the other day, thinking how I am so going to go to Disney World when they have their 50th anniversary. haha!
1. The Original Journey Into Imagination!!!
As we all know there have been a couple refurbishments to this attraction but NEITHER of them compare to the original with Dreamfinder and of course Figment! For those of you who never got to see that version, trust me, it was AWESOME! Plus the old version of the ImageWorks (kind of like the What If? Labs they have now or whatever the heck they're called) was way better. The things I remember the most was a station where you could do a computer painting of Figment and/or Dreamfinder and then these huge pin tables...don't know what you'd call them but they had these pins on them that when you pushed on them they'd move and you could make handprints and stuff. Ahhh I miss it.Definitely tops the list of Extinct Disney.
In other news my sister was watching our recording of that Disney holiday show they had on HGTV and apparently said something to Dad how Disney World is so pretty at Christmas. Of course now he thinks that it is my doing and trying to get other people to go. He said something to Mom about how some of us want to go next December...so we will see what happens...![]()
Ahh the good ole days. There are so many things here that I forgot about, but really miss now....
Great list!
I so want to do Magic Kingdom rope drop. But we always do Evening EMH, so we sleep past opening hours...Maybe I'll sneak out early one day just to watch the opening show and then sneak back to bed. It could work...![]()
