wdwgirl and Dad do Disney:an April '10 PTR...TR LINK ADDED!! p. 56

Don't worry Sarah, your trip will be here before you know it! If you are feeling down, think of us shmucks that don't have any trips booked!

Great scrapbook!

I'd rather go in April to Florida, when they come back, they have to face winter for 3 more months. When you and your dad come back, we could start having a great spring/summer. I found out, that I take it way to hard, when I have to return to really cold/crappy weather.

You do a really good job with scrap booking. I always have the best intentions, buy everything, but never do it.

Cute scrapbook! I love the cover! I am still working on one from 2006. Digital cameras really messed me up...I couldn't decide whether to get prints made of our digital shots, (we had film pictures, too) and include them all together or just make one regular and one digital scrapbook. I finally just ordered them from snapfish a couple weeks ago...totally forgetting that I'd already done one with the film pictures! That's how long it had been since I'd worked on it...Now I need some refill pages. After I finish that one it's 2007, 2008 & 2009! :scared1:

Thanks! Yeah, I used to print out almost every picture I took :scared1: (not to just scrapbook, most of those went into photo albums) but lately I've been trying to print out the unique ones so I don't have 900 pictures of the same thing. Good luck on finishing your scrapbook! You can do it!

Yeah, only 70 days to go! I'm sure the time will fly by just like it always does.

That's true. Hopefully we won't get a blizzard in March or April since winter's been so mild.

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm the same way sometimes...I just can't get motivated.

70 days to go!

As you all know (through my complaining, LOL!) part of my family is in Disney World right now. Since I couldn't be there, I've been thinking about what I want to do when April rolls around. I've been thinking a lot about what I want to do on our arrival day. Our flight leaves Milwaukee bright and early at 7:30 so we should be getting to Orlando around 11ish. That means we'll be there early enough to do something in the afternoon. The question is what?! There's a couple options:

1.) Go to one of the parks.
I'm going to need to buy a new park ticket for this trip but I do still have 3 days left on mine from August. So we could go to a park right away.

2.) Mini golf.
We didn't get a chance to go mini golfing in August and it's always fun doing that. Plus we get some sort of discount...I forget if it's with DVC or my dad's AP but I'm pretty sure it's 50%. It might be fun to go to Winter Summerland since we haven't been there in a while.

3.) Downtown Disney/visit resorts.
It always seems like we have a hard time figuring out when to go to DTD. Of course I don't want to be buying souvenirs on our first day! But another thing I was thinking was that if we did go to DTD it might be cool to take the boat over to Old Key West (or maybe Saratoga Springs...home! :goodvibes). I like to visiting the other resorts and we've never been to OKW before. Or we could even take a bus from there to the Polynesian since I said I want to go back and visit.

Obviously we still have time to figure everything out (heck, we might not even decide until the day we're sitting at the airport gate!) but what do you guys think?

Have a great day!

If I had the option and the energy, I would choose to go to a park right away! I'd love to be immersed in some Disney magic right away and kind of take it easy since it isn't the official park day.

I don't know what we're doing the first day. We still haven't definitively decided whether or not we're going to drive straight down or if we're stopping in South Carolina. I'm trying to convince my dad that it's okay if we get there earlier than the time we can get our condo (4pm-ish?) because then we can stop by the outlets. I really want to shop at Character Warehouse and all that before we go to the parks or DTD.

Did I really just write all of that without an exclamation point? I must be that tired ... oy. Haha, I don't like not having it though so maybe this will make up for it ...

:cheer2: Here's to < 70 days!

I would vote for going to a park! You'd be too tempted to buy souveneirs your first day if you go to DTD!
Also, I love your scrapbook pages. I scrapbook everything, but some pages turn out better than others! Depends on whether I have enough time and patience to dedicate. All of yours are beautiful, though!

Oh boy, this was a hard decision! You know that I'm anxious to get to the MK right away so my answer is #1.

But...I do like the idea of #3 and going to DTD then catching a boat ride over to OKW or SS. I really save a lot of my shopping for DTD so maybe you could fit that day in somewhere later in the trip. :confused3

I vote mini golf. I think its a fun, relaxing thing to do for the afternoon. That being said, I've never been. :rotfl:

That would be cool to go to the Character Warehouse. We've never been there but I bet you can find some good deals there.

Yup, down to 69 days! :woohoo::woohoo:

Another vote for going to a park!

Yes, that is definitely how my scrapbooks are too. Some of my pages turn out pretty good but then others are umm, not so good.

Yeah, if we did go to DTD I wouldn't buy anything so it might make more sense to go some other time. Plus we both want to eat at the T-Rex Cafe.

I vote mini golf. I think its a fun, relaxing thing to do for the afternoon. That being said, I've never been. :rotfl:

haha! Mini golf is a lot of fun. Maybe we could go mini golfing and then go to a park later. :scratchin Decisions, decisions...

I like to take it easy the first day we get there (especially with kids--so this might not make a difference for you). But we head to Downtown Disney after we eat lunch at the Poly. We spend a few hours there, eat dinner, and head back to the Poly to watch Wishes from the Poly beach!! :goodvibes

I'm all for mini-golf!

If your park ticket is like an 'extra' day, though...that would be nice to just go to a park and relax...walk around and take it all in. We don't do a park on our check-in day because we don't have APs or anything, so we don't want to use a day for only half a day.

DVC is buy one, get one. I can't recall if the AP has one or not....

My vote though is a PARK! I loved seeing the Castle on our first day! Maybe a quick dip into MK for a bite to eat, then mini-golf...

Hmm....this is a tough one!! But, since you're arriving early afternoon..I would say go for the park. I know if we weren't arriving so late in the day that's what we would do.;) Then again...mini golf sounds fun too!!:confused3

Check in, DTD and riding the monorail to watch wishes from the Poly beach. We usually eat at Beaches and Cream or Kona on our first/travel day. So much to do, the whole vacation is ahead of you.................:lovestruc

(I switched to VWL for my non park/quick trip next week. Should I request a certain location for our studio?)

Ooh, that sounds like a fun first day! Yeah, when my sisters and I were little we never went to a park our first day. We'd just eat lunch at Captain Cook's and go swimming...stuff like that. Good old Poly. :goodvibes

That is a good point. For my dad it doesn't make a difference since he has his AP. In August though we started a new ticket and went to the MK right away even though it was mid-afternoon.

I can't remember exactly what it was either (if any!). All I know is there was some discount.

Another park vote!

Beaches and Cream sounds good. We did that our first night when we stayed at BCV. :thumbsup2

Hmm, good question. At first I was kind of bummed about where our room was since it didn't have a balcony  but it was nice because it was close to the main building (and bus stops). So I might suggest getting one on the first floor if you can! Have fun!

Since you have an AP, I'd say hit the park. Its so nice to see MK as soon as you arrive!

If it were me and only had park passes, I wouldn't waste the first day on a park since I won't be there that long.

I agree, it is nice to see the MK right away! :goodvibes

Hey everyone! Can't believe it's already the weekend. That means my family's supposed to come home today. They already called and said their flight was delayed a couple hours because of mechanical problems. :scared1::worried: Hopefully they'll get out alright (and hopefully the snow here won't affect them too).

Anyways, last night I found this website that gives some more details about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! You can find it right here...

http://www.universalorlandoresort.com/harrypotter/

Ahhh we all can't wait for this to open. More reason to take another trip in December, right? ;)

Just thought I'd share because I know a lot of people are anxiously waiting for this to open!
