LOL, glad you are enjoying my Top Tens. Maybe I'll do another one today since I have no school. :yay: And I might have to combine TS/CS restaurants seeing as we hardly ever eat at TS places. haha

The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World!!! I've read in other people's TRs that it's a pretty good book so I finally caved and bought one. One of the things we are hoping to do on this trip is try to look for some of those hidden secrets in the parks. I've only flipped through it a little bit so far but it seems really interesting! One of the most interesting things I've read so far is that the only real flag on Main Street is the one in that center plaza (near the Roy and Minnie statue) where they do the flag retreat. It said that all the other ones, like on the buildings, aren't considered real so they don't have to take them down each night per US Custom (so they might be missing a star or stripe). Crazy, huh?! Can't wait to read more. popcorn::

I also thought I'd go ahead and do my next Top Ten List since there's not much more to report on. So for this list I decided to do...

Sarah's Top Ten Disney Movies!!

As I mentioned in my favorite songs list, I'm not just a fan of the parks. I love ALL things Disney. :goodvibes And there sure are some great movies to help when you need a little Disney fix. These aren't going to be in any particular order. I'm going to try and organize them by category. So here we go...

Favorite Disney Classic: Peter Pan
peter_pan.jpg

I was so excited when this one finally came out on DVD. Nothing like a little faith, trust, and pixie dust. :goodvibes

Favorite Princess movie: Cinderella

cinderellaposter.jpg

So obviously this one's a classic too but Cinderella is my favorite Disney princess princess:. It has some great songs in it too and you've gotta love the happily ever after. Side note, how cool is the retro poster?!

Favorite Sports movie: Miracle

miracle-movie.jpg

Even though I am a sports fan I am not really into hockey but this movie is awesome. If you don't know, it's the story of the US hockey team in the 1980 Olympics. And if you don't know how the story goes, the US, a team made up of amateur players ends up beating the Soviets, who were made up of professional hockey players. The US then went on to win the gold medal. I wasn't born yet during those Olympics but I remember when we first saw it Dad told us stories about how exciting it was. Ahhh, it's just a feel-good story. :thumbsup2

Favorite Disney Channel movie: High School Musical

Movies_Posters_High_School_Musical_mpc37_large.jpg

I really don't think Disney knew what a phenomenon this franchise would end up being. It might be really cheesy but it's another feel-good movie that makes you happy. Way better than some of the other junk out there these days! Oh yes, and the music's not too bad either. ;) If I was 12 years old I'd probably be in love with Zac Efron.

Favorite movie based on a book:
There's actually two here, not sure which one I like more.

So #1 is The Princess Diaries
3354259867_f6a1bf1762.jpg

The Princess Diaries tells the story of Mia Thermopolis (played by Anne Hathaway), a normal teenager who ends up finding she's the princess of the made-up country of Genovia. Such a cute story and I love the ending.

#2 is The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
princecaspianposter.jpg

I'm actually kind of surprised I got into this one, which tells the story of the Pevensie kids and their return to Narnia. My sister ended up buying the first movie (The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe) and it was actually pretty good. We decided to go see Prince Caspian when it came out and I liked this one too. Lots of action. After seeing it I had to go out and buy the book (which is now in my growing collection of kids books for when I get my own classroom!).

Favorite Pixar movie: Finding Nemo
finding_nemo_ver2.jpg

Funny story to go with this: When I first met my roommate for my freshman year of college, one of the first things I told her was that I was a huge Disney fan.:rolleyes: She said that she, her sister and mom went to see Finding Nemo and thought it was really cute. My family ended up going to see it on the Fourth of July that year. It was immediately my favorite Pixar movie and still is. Really, I don't think there has been a bad Pixar movie but Nemo is totally awesome, dude (sorry, couldn't resist). I love the animation, the characters, pretty much everything. So cute.

Favorite Recent Classic: Aladdin
aladdin_ver3.jpg

So to be considered a "recent classic", it had to be one of those movies in the late 1980s-early 1990s when they just released all of those hits. :worship: I'm sure a lot of people would choose The Lion King for this one and I probably would too (but I HATE the part when Mufasa dies. Poor Simba!! :sad1:...I know, I'm such a dork). So instead I'm going with Aladdin. One of the best things about Aladdin is the music. (Random note, I really can't wait to see The Princess and the Frog which will return to those classic musicals.)

Favorite Live-Action movie: Pirates of the Caribbean
potc.jpg

OK, I'm not going to lie, parts of these movies kind of confuse me but they're still entertaining. One of the best scenes (I think it's in Dead Man's Chest) is when Jack Sparrow and Will Turner are in that giant wheel fighting and it's just rolling through the jungle. :lmao:

Favorite Animated/Live Action movie: Enchanted
EnchantedMoviePoster_001.jpg

Hmm, I'm not really sure how many choices there'd be for animation and live action but Enchanted is definitely the best. Cute movie, great music, and it also has a lot of other Disney references within it (like the Bella Notte restaurant, the idea that Giselle has to eat a poisonous apple, etc.).

Feel free to share your favorites! It's so hard to narrow it down there's so many good ones. :)

Oooh that list was fun!

I got that new "The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World" book for my birthday and have read it all already!

Of course Peter Pan is a great classic! :)

My favorite princess movie is Beauty and the Beast. princess:

Haha, I LOVE the High School Musical movies. Zac Efron =

B/F and I actually just watched that Naria-Prince Caspian movie last week when it was on one of our movie channels! It was surprisingly good! I thought it might not be as good as the original!

Nemo is so cute!

Love Pirates! The 1st will always be my fav.

Enchanted is so cute too!

Oooh cool, so I'm guessing you liked the book then? I can't wait to read more of it!

haha, I thought you liked HSM too. ;) Glad I'm not the only one.

I was disappointed in HSM. I just thought it was up to Disney par. I was kinda bored with it.

My top Disney movies are:
The Little Mermaid!!! Some of the absolute best Disney music of all time!
Beauty and the Beast - again, really awesome music.
Aladdin - can you tell I like the Alan Menken stuff?
Enchanted - more Alan Menken :) I also adored Amy Adams in this film.
Pirates of the Caribbean - Johnny Depp  I also love the score - I have some of it as my ringtone.
Ratatouille - I love anything French, like to cook, and I used to have a pet rat, so the chances of me not liking this were minimal. :rotfl:
Mary Poppins - Love Julie Andrews and Dick Van **** in this!
Cinderella - such a classic..I watched it a lot growing up. When we were little, if you asked my sister what she wanted to be when she grew up, she answered "Cinderella".

I love all of these top ten lists you are doing. Some of these are my favorites as well.

Glad you are enjoying the lists. :)

:lmao: The boards star out Dick's last name! :rotfl2:

WHAT?! HSM is awesome. LOL. If only my high school would've been like that...

Little Mermaid is good too and I agree on the music. Like I said, all those recent classics like Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, etc. were great. It's hard to choose a favorite!

I like the POTC score too.

LOL, yeah, I remember in somebody else's PTR a while back they were talking about the DVD show and it was starred out.

Ohhhh I like this top ten!! I loveeee HSM too! All three of them! I'm a dork and Chris gets so annoyed when I make him watch them and sing the music :rotfl2:

My fave princess movie is Beauty and the Beast :wizard: Aladdin is definitely in my top five! haha And I agree with you about the Lion King!

I love Enchanted too!! My favorite song is "How Does She Know?"

Nice list. Looks like you hit two of my all-time favorites- Cinderella and Enchanted. Aladdin and Princess Diaries are pretty high too, and Peter Pan is a classic. You left out a few that would definitely have made it into my Top 5- Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid and Mary Poppins. And surprisingly, Nemo has never been one of my favorite PIXAR movies. It is good (I’m with you, I don’t think there’s ever been a bad PIXAR movie) but I think Toy Story’s my #1.

I’m almost embarrassed to say it, but I did like High School Musical even even got the soundtrack and DVD when they first came out. Wasn’t a big fan of 2 or 3 though.

haha yeah, all 3 of them are cute. I am not ashamed to admit my sisters and I went to see HSM3 on opening night. LOL!

That is a good song in Enchanted and a fun scene too.

It is good!

Glad to hear it! I kept debating on whether or not to get it since I have those Imagineer Field Guides and a couple other books.

I hear ya on Toy Story, that one is good.

Ohhhhhh, we have the soundtracks to all of the movies so don't be too embarrassed. LOL!
