wdwgirl and Dad do Disney:an April '10 PTR...TR LINK ADDED!! p. 56

GOOD NEWS!!!

1.) Less than 5 months until our trip

2.) I got a long-term subbing job!!!! No more early morning phone calls for a few months!:banana:

Just wanted to share. I'm going to make another Top Ten list soon!

:cool1: Did someone have a baby? and want to stay home longer? The gym teacher at our h.s. and his wife are expecting a baby anyday now. He took 2 weeks off. His wife works in Slinger and she is taking a 4 month leave of absentence, when she goes back to work her dh is going to take a 4 month leave and then it will be summer, so the baby won't have to go to a babysitter till the start of school next Fall.

Yeah, it sounds like the teacher must've had the baby Thursday night. I got a call from the principal and she wanted me to come in Friday but I already had another assignment already so I'm going to start tomorrow already. And keep working there until the end of February. :yay::yay:

I kinda wished that the F&GF would have been extended one more weekend. I would have liked to see it again this year. Oh well...not everything can go my way.

Congrats on the long-term sub job.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! I'm so so so excited for you! :cool1: Haha, I should specify that I'm happy about the subbing job! I mean, Disney is great and if you're less than 5 months so am I* but I know that the job situation must have been stressful for you (recently checked the teacher thread on the CB too). Woohoo!!!

And of course, I'm looking forward to your next Top Ten list! They're so much fun to read!

* My family doesn't make solid plans on when we go to parksss otherwise I'd say, DIS MEET! Maybe we can still work something out as we get closer to the week!

Congrats on the job!! Also, I love the F&G festival! I always go at that time of year so it's weird when the topiaries aren't around. How exciting!

I hear ya on that. But atleast you're still going to Disney!

Thanks!

Yeah, it's just so frustrating. Obviously I'd still rather have a full-time permanent job but I am not going to complain about knowing where I'll be going for the next few months. Hopefully it'll lead to something for next year then...

I think I'm going to finish up my TR first (it's about time to finish that thing) and then I'll do another list.

And yeah, a DIS meet would be so fun! We don't really plan out each day too much either...we're usually pretty flexible. Heck, there are some days we don't decide where we're going until the night before.

Thanks!

We watched the new Tinkerbell movie last night and they had a bonus feature about Pixie Hollow at WDW and how they made a fairy garden for the F&GF. I hope they do it again for next year because it was adorable. :goodvibes

The Top Ten lists are so fun :-) Great idea for a PTR! Make a Theme Park music list next! (I hope a certain mountain of a...wet...variety makes it on the list!) Not to tell you what should do next haha

LOL, I will definitely do a theme park music list but I have something else in mind for my next one. So stay tuned, I promise it'll be a good one. :thumbsup2

Yay!! Congrats on the job!! That's great!! Love all the F&G pictures!! We've went the last two years in April and loved seeing all the topiaries. It was so funny not seeing them when we went in August. We really missed them.

Can't wait until your next top ten list!!

I'm hoping to have another top ten list up in the next couple days...

Just wanted to check in to find out how your first two days have been at work! :teacher:

They've been pretty good. State testing is going on right now so I had to give that to a group of 5th graders and then 4th grade starts today. I've also been doing a lot of observing/getting to know the kids and other teachers. It's also nice that I only have to drive 15 minutes to get to school (much closer than the other district I was working in)!

Hey Sarah! Congrats on the job!!! That's exciting. Hope everything else is going well. :)

Love the F&GF pictures -- so cool. I can't believe your trip is 5 months away. That is going to FLY by. Instead of planning for spring break 2011, I think you should plan for December 2010! That's when me and my sister are trying to go again. :goodvibes

Thanks Kirsten! Hope everything's going well with you too. :)

I would LOVE to do another Christmas trip. Wonder if we'd have enough points for that next year...haha! We're kind of using up a lot of them with Dad, Mom, and Claire going in Jan. and then again in April.

OK, I should be finishing up my TR but I really don't want it to end . Instead I'll do another Top Ten list since it seems so many people are interested in that. hehe

For this one I am going to go back to the theme parks. Whenever we go to Disney World, there are always certain things I look forward to seeing. Or you just experience those sights from a brand new perspective. So I now present to you...

Sarah's Top Ten Sights/Views in Disney World!!

Had to steal a couple pictures along the way...

10. The Disney World entrance
n20305212_34373382_9189.jpg

Pretty self-explanatory. Every time we go I always get excited about driving through the arch because that means our trip is officially getting started!

9. The view as you climb Expedition Everest

2425386914_deb6460926.jpg

Sadly I don't have a picture of this, partly because I'm too chicken to pull out my camera. But it's so cool on that first incline on EE when you can see the entire park. Maybe getting a photo should be a goal for April?!

8. Seeing the elephants on Kilimanjaro Safaris

n20305212_33510153_1168.jpg

I think elephants are so cute so it's always exciting to see them on the safari. There was one safari we went on when we saw atleast five of them!

7. A monorail gliding through Epcot

n20305212_30160699_3910.jpg

Not really sure why I like this one. Maybe it's just because I love the monorail and they seem kind of Epcot-ish. That doesn't even make sense, does it?...:confused3:rotfl:

6. The Boardwalk at night

n20305212_34376018_9530.jpg

There's just something about the Boardwalk being all lit up that makes it come to life. It seems so much more festive!

5. The entrance to Hollywood Studios

You might not think that the entrance to DHS is anything special but to really appreciate it you need to take one of the boats. On our trip last Dec. when we stayed at the Beach Club, we took one of the boats over to the Studios...something we had never done. I know I talked a lot about the view you get in that TR because it's just amazing! It's like you don't see anything and then you turn the corner and see all the icons of the park. Definitely gets you excited for the day. Sadly I don't have a picture of this one. :sad2:

4. The Magic Kingdom entrance

5210_604908147264_20305212_35615424_989922_n.jpg

This one's very similar to the DHS entrance in that you need to see it coming on one of the boats. It's just a completely different view of the entrance that pretty much captures all of the excitement/hustle and bustle of the park.

3. The World Showcase pavilions during Illuminations

(THIS IS NOT MY PICTURE)

One of the best parts of Illuminations is when they light up all of the pavilions. Kind of gives you chills. :goodvibes

2. Cinderella Castle

We've seen it as a big pink birthday cake...
n20305212_31587455_6515.jpg

Decked out in gold for the Happiest Celebration on Earth...
n20305212_30160702_4785.jpg

Glimmering like an ice palace...
n20305212_34374096_6127.jpg

And in its original beauty...
5210_604908192174_20305212_35615433_7132795_n.jpg

I really wonder how many pictures of the castle I've taken over the years because I'm sure it's a ridiculous amount. But can anybody really help it? It's like the icon of Disney.

And my all-time favorite sight in Walt Disney World is....

1. Main Street USA!!!

n20305212_33510617_4875.jpg

One of the things I look forward to on each trip is getting that first glimpse of Cinderella Castle after coming around that bend. But Main Street is amazing too. It just makes you feel like you're home with the stores, balloon vendors, Photopass photographers, etc. There's nothing like it. :goodvibes

So what are your favorite sights in Disney World? popcorn::

Another AWESOME top 10 list!!!! Some of those are my favorites as well. I would have to say, however, that your number 10 is my number 1. For me, there is nothing like seeing and driving under that welcome sign after having been away for some time. It's like a big welcome home.

Oh, I forgot to say that I am glad to hear that the ne job is working out okay. Also, big plus that it is closer to your home.

Congrats on the long-term subbing job!!! That is a great relief I'm sure. :thumbsup2

I love your F&G pics...some year I will get there for it!! Soooo pretty.

And of course, I enjoyed your Top 10! Several of my favorite sites are the same as yours, Main Street USA would have to be #1 for me as well. I love entering MK and seeing it all...:cloud9:

I also love the monorail going through Epcot. Especially riding it through Epcot. It's very Epcot-ish. :goodvibes

I think another favorite view of mine is seeing my first Disney bus. Since we use that transportation SO MUCH during the trip, seeing the first one just secures in me that we are truly there!! :hyper:

Wow, I'm so behind....there was so much I wanted to comment on but I can't remember it all! :rotfl:

Love the Top Ten Lists!
I would have to add "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid to the song list. If I ever audition for AIE, that's what I would sing!!

Totally agree with that view from EE! I Love it!!!

Here's an idea for a top 12 I need help with:
Say you're taking a person who hasn't been before to each park. Which 3 attractions should I be absolutely sure they ride??
