WDW vs. the terrible twos- and the verdict is... trip update 2/12

Oh my gosh, thank goodness you found your stroller!! I probably would have panicked a lot sooner than that. :rotfl: It seems strange for a CM to move it that far, maybe someone took it by accident then left it somewhere when they realized it wasn't theirs?? Crazy, but I'm glad you found it!

I was laughing through your story of trying to get Everett to sleep (that's one of my biggest fears when we travel with Paxton!), and I was just waiting for you to say you laid down pretending to sleep and then actually fell asleep. But good job staying awake to catch Hallowishes! It seems like that has become our best bet for seeing fireworks since Paxton came along, from the balcony of a resort. :lmao:

I would totally watch extreme ADR stalking... it should be on TLC...:rotfl2:

I don't get the rhyme or reason behind the stroller moving... I haven't had a stroller with me at DWD for 5 or so years but honestly it was always a unwanted search when we came out of attractions looking for where it wound up...:confused3

I'm definitely doing a meal at Crystal Palace on our next trip... regardless of the characters who I do think are cute... except Piglet freaks me out... he's sort of out of proportion...:rolleyes2 in comparison...(but I guess he couldn't get smaller or it would be hard to find someone to wear the costume ) However, the interior looks really, really pretty...

Ah those portable DVD players are a Godsend even when kids get bigger they're awesome in the car and out on road trips...;)

I haven't seen it... but it seems that a lot of people feel that Hallowishes is Disney's best fireworks...:goodvibes

Oh! My! Goodness! I would have been freaking out about the stroller!! Why in the world did a CM move your stroller all the way over to Pirates? :confused3 Were other strollers by it or was it alone?

I love your idea for a new TLC show - Extreme ADR stalkers! Can I be on it with you?!? :rotfl:

Glad y'all had a good meal at CP & that you were able to get in before Everett fell asleep!

So glad the fake sleep technique worked on Everett. It used to work on Reid all the time. Now, I can really fall asleep & he'll still stay awake. :rotfl2:

Watching the fireworks from your balcony just sounds heavenly!

I turned out all the lights and got into bed myself.

That did the trick, even though he tossed and turned for a bit, he did lay down and eventually fell asleep- success!

How many times I have done this in my life between three kids, many kids I have babysat, and now my granddaughters!

My mom came back a little later and both of us were able to go outside on the balcony to watch Hallowishes, which was indescribably awesome. Being able to watch from the comfort of your balcony, with your little man tucked away in dreamland inside was beyond my wildest expectations.

Sounds like a treasured memory of this trip. :)

Oh wow, what a nice way to start the trip with your MK day with DS asleep!! I really want to do the sorcerers thing - we never did last trip, but it sounds like we should check it out in December if we have a chance.

Sorry he was being a bit grumpy, and too bad about the characters at CP but at least your meal was good. Awesome he slept so well overnight AND you were able to watch Hallowishes - what an amazing end to the evening!

Why would a CM move a stroller to that place?!:confused3 I understand the need for them to move them to organize them all and make room for more, but to completely dislocate it....obviously they had no idea how stressful it would be for the parents! Now that I've practically taken out a loan for a stroller, I can completely understand your panic. I would've been freaking! Thank goodness you were able to find it and continue on with your evening. :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear the CP dinner wasn't bad; I've heard mixed reviews about it.

I can only imagine how great it must have been to watch thefireworks from your room balcony. It had to be so relaxing and nice.

All caught up missed episode 3 somehow, but thanks for putting links on the first page, VERY helpful! Is the SoMK a long game? It seems like what you described wasn't too terribly long. Maybe something I'd like to try.

The missing stroller! I've never had more anxiety then thinking our stroller might go missing. From the gate checking before boarding the plane to holding my breathe walking off the plane praying it is in one piece. And don't get me started on the stroller parking! I'm the first one to want to ditch the stroller to go on a ride, but then again more breathe holding to make sure it is there when we return!

SotMK isn't a very long game, maybe 15 minutes (if you move quickly from portal to portal and know your way around), but if there is a line it can get longer. It is getting more and more popular, so most times I had to wait, but it still went pretty fast.

I hear ya! I'm going to be very happy when our stroller days are long behind us. I'll probably bring one for DS in April, and maybe if we go next Thanksgiving, but after that- no way. I don't care how much my kids whine about being tired, I can (and will!) out-whine them if I have to push their elementary-school aged butts in a stroller.

I hate when they move the strollers, and Adventureland is the worst! Last trip we spent so long searching all of the Pirates area 'parking lots' for ours. I'm really glad that you found it.

I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner at CP! Too bad Everett didn't care much about the characters, but at least you had a good meal.

How wonderful to watch the fireworks from the comfort of your room. Awesome that Everett slept so well for you too!

I could totally understand if I parked my stroller in a dodgy place, but seriously, it was right under the "stroller parking sign". Sometimes I think that CM just like to mess with parents. :rotfl2:

That is so frustrating. I'm glad you were able to find it though. I always try to put our stroller in the very back of the stroller parking against a rail/wall/etc and in a corner if possible. I've found that they aren't as likely to move it in those situations as they are if it is in a row that isn't against anything. My theory could be proven completely wrong in a few weeks too though.:confused3

Great idea... :thumbsup2

I'm sensing a pattern here... :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Don't worry, I won't judge. I do the same thing and your excuse is a heck of a lot better than "I'm on vacation."

That sounds like a perfect end to the day. Gotta love that room upgrade! :thumbsup2

Well I certainly ate for two on this trip, no doubt about that, and it was certainly reflected in the scales ;) I got the "talking to" by my OB when I returned about "not gaining too much weight". I'd like to see him try and resist the allure of Disney goodies. :rotfl2:

The only thing I could think of as to why it was moved so far away was maybe some CM thought that they needed that space to set something up for the MNSSHP that night? I don't know because there were still strollers there when I returned. :confused3

Oh my gosh, I was trying my hardest not to fall asleep! I keep saying, "don't go to sleep, don't go to sleep" in my head while I was laying there! :rotfl:

I've had strollers moved, but never that far! That is really kind of weird! Glad you found it though.

You and me both! It would have been a terrible start to the vacation to be down one stroller!

I'm not a huge fan of the Pooh characters, and I honestly never ate at CP until I had Everett, but it is convenient (since its inside the MK) and there is something for everyone, so I'm sure we'll be back there again in the future.

Oh! My! Goodness! I would have been freaking out about the stroller!! Why in the world did a CM move your stroller all the way over to Pirates? :confused3 Were other strollers by it or was it alone?

We definitely need casting for "Extreme ADR stalkers" and based on your planning profile, I think you'll be an excellent fit! ;):rotfl2:

I honestly was a little afraid that I would fall asleep, and then he'd get up and trash the hotel room, but luckily the trick worked this trip!

How many times I have done this in my life between three kids, many kids I have babysat, and now my granddaughters!

Sounds like a treasured memory of this trip. :)

It definitely was one of my favorites, it was just so relaxing and perfect! :goodvibes

being Mr. Grumpy Gills is certainly nothing new for Everett, but I was just happy he wasn't having a meltdown or being disruptive. The DVD player was a godsend!

You guys should give it a try in December, I'm not sure it would be your DH's thing, but maybe he could do something he enjoyed while you and Aria saved the Mk?

Hopefully you'll never have your stroller moved to Timbuktu, but now you know to just keep looking and hopefully it will show up! (what kind of stroller did you decide on BTW, I really love strollers, yes I am a dork!).

Watching the fireworks from our balcony completely spoiled me, it was such a wonderful perk, now I don't want to watch on Main Street with the masses anymore. :lmao:

One month from today...

I could very well have a new baby! :scared1:

I guess I logically knew that this pregnancy had to end at some point, but I don't think it really sunk in until recently. :rotfl2:

So I have a C-section scheduled for Dec 13th, and depending on how things go between now and then, I might be t-minus one month to baby. Everett was nearly 9 1/2 lbs, and despite my best efforts (three hours of pushing ) he ended up going into distress and I had to have the C-section.

I really wanted to avoid having a C-section this time around, but it all will depend on how big this baby is looking. I have another ultrasound scheduled for 37 weeks, and if it looks like this will be a normal sized baby, my OB is fine with letting the chips fall as they may, but if he looks like another big boy, he has advised on the planned c-section.

Based on how huge I am, and how hard this baby is pummeling my insides, I have a feeling he is going to be another big boy, so I'm not getting my hopes up. There are pros and cons to both sides, but as long as I end up with a healthy little boy, I will be counting my blessings.

Having a potential end date really got me motivated and this weekend we pretty much finished up everything we needed for this baby. I ran into a few snafus, which I found really frustrating, since I was trying so hard to be on top of things, but they were quickly resolved.

I ended up bringing all the mechanics for my baby swing, but I realized that the seat pad is in storage in Virginia. :headache: I just bought a duplicate of the swing, took out the padding to use while I'm here, and then I'm just going to sell the extra swing on craigslist when I'm ready to move.

I made a similar boneheaded move with the pack and play. My mom had one up here, but it didn't have the bassinet attachment. My brilliant plan of leaving my pack and play in storage, and just bringing up the attachment part would have worked great, if they were the same brand. :headache:

I ended up turning to trusty craigslist again and found someone selling a brand new, unopened pack and play, with the bassinet and changing table for $29- SOLD! The only snafu is that it has pink trim, but I figure it serves this baby right for fooling us into thinking it was a girl in the beginning anyway. :rotfl2::rotfl: I'll use it while I'm here and then sell it back on craigslist when I'm done.

Everything else ended up with all its parts accounted for, and is now washed, set up, or folded and put away.

We've also been doing some "baby practice" with Everett, which has been met with mixed results. I bought him a baby doll, and we're using it to try and teach him not to touch the baby's face or head, or smother the baby, or maul the baby. We've been moving around the house in and out of the various baby gear, and Everett is sort of getting the concept. He seems very excited about having a little brother, and means very well, but shoving Thomas trains in the baby's face saying "Baby, you like Thomas?- here you play!" makes me a little nervous about this child's survival chances. :rotfl2: I guess he'll learn to be tough, and quick, right? :lmao:

I do have to say that watching Everett go over to the "baby" and asking "You want to watch Mermaid or Beast? Which one you like baby?" does sort of melt my heart. :lovestruc I can only hope that that type of behavior will continue once the real baby is here!

Wow, it will be here soon! At least the end is in sight now. I'm sure by the time the next month goes by, you'll be more than ready.

That's great that Everett seems to be doing so well with the idea of having a baby around. I'm sure he'll be a good big brother. Yes, he'll probably club the baby with Thomas at some point, but at least he means well. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

The good news is, apparently when you bring a baby home to an older brother who is still a toddler, they seem to learn self defense quickly. DD is 6 months old and her favorite hobby is smacking DS in the face repeadedly and laughing hysterically. He tends to tolerate it pretty well and it is usually because he's getting right in her face to begin with so as far as I'm concerned, he deserves it. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I was going to ask you in my last post when you were due and I totally forgot. Guess now I know. ;)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for a natural delivery but, as you said, whether natural or c-section, the baby being healthy is the most important thing.

And I am sure that Everett will be fine once the baby comes.

Wow, I can't believe it is so close! To me, it doesn't feel that long, but being the pregnant one, I'm sure it does to you. :rotfl: At least you were able to fix all your packing snafus without much cost.

That is so sweet how Everett is already asking the baby questions. He is going to be such a great big brother!

Yeah for 1 month until baby! :cool1: Get your DISing now while you can! Keep us posted. I can definitely see the advantage of a scheduled C-section. I had a scheduled induction for my second "just because" and it was wonderful to know when I was going in.

LOL. I concur with this! There are 22 months between my two and they are as bad as each other. One of their favourite games is "baby bundles" which basically involves them climbing on and wrestling each other.:rotfl2:

OP Best of luck with the VBAC or C Sec. It sounds like your DS is going to make a very sweet and caring big brother.

Your new little prince will be here so soon!!! How exciting that your date is a month away!!!

I'm sure that Everett will be nice and gentle with the real baby when he arrives! How sweet that he's already asking him questions! :goodvibes

Yay! Baby boy will be here before you know it! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I'll be keeping the both of you in my prayers for a healthy delivery.

And I think Everett is going to make a great big brother. That's so sweet how he asks the doll which movie he'd like to watch. What a sweetie!! :goodvibes

I can't believe that it's almost BABY TIME!

I loved the line about Everett possibly mauling the new baby. I literally laughed out loud.

Good work getting all of the gear in place!

Wow like everyone else, i forget how time actually goes by - 1 more month! Is that at your 39 weeks or so? Either way it happens, it's going to be amazing having a new baby around. I'm worried about nursing with a toddler to care for too. I don't know how that will work out!

I'm sure Everett will learn very quickly what is and isn't allowed, and at the same time babies grow SO DARN FAST that baby will be fine. too funny about the pink on the pnp! LOL!

When do you think you will move again?
