WDW "Vacation A Day" Contest!

We finally heard from Disney today! We received an email from a Disney travel agent this afternoon with 2 attachments: an FAQ form and a questionnaire asking us to rank the resorts in our preferred order and give some airport information. They ask which time of day we want to fly in & out and from which airport. The questionnaire also asks if we need any additional rooms or additional nights.
We immediately wrote back to Sherry (the travel agent) and asked what we do since there is just 2 of us going (not 4). She said they would be glad to add extra nights on to our stay since we won't be needing all of the plane tickets or park tickets they offer! Now we just have to fill out the questionnaire and fax it back to her ASAP so they can book our trip! So exciting!!
In case you're wondering about the timeline, we got the first email from Ventura last Monday, faxed (and overnight-ed) our affidavit on Tuesday, got the official "Congratulations" email on Wednesday, and was contacted by Disney today (Monday).

Congrats!! That's really cool that they give you more days to make up for just the two of you! FUN!!!

That is just too exciting!!! We have the opposite problem(haha) we have been blessed with 5 kiddos(3 bio and 2 beauties from China). So I sent an e-mail back asking what our options are. Can't wait till tomorrow! When are you going??

We're getting married on June 21st, so we're hoping to be in Disney from June 23rd - July 1st. 9 days and 8 nights in Disney (hopefully at the GF)! Should be an amazing honeymoon! Can't wait for our trip to be officially booked!

I wasn't notified until Jan 23rd. Got the email that afternoon. I almost blew it off as spam.... so glad that I didn't.

We finally received our travel plans from Disney! We are staying at the GF from June 23-July 1. (They gave us extra nights since we're only using 2 tickets). I got an email first...Subject title was 2014 Family Time Resolution Sweepstakes- Response Required. Then about two hours later... I got a phone call from a 212 area code from a woman named Betty.

That is so cool that Disney did that because they aren't "obligated" to.

Where there any blackout dates and what is the deadline to take the trip? We will have to go somewhere Oct - Jan due to school and work.

You have to take the trip by Jan 31st, 2015
Black out dates were Jan1-3, Feb 16-23, April 12-26, Nov 27-30 and Dec 17-31st.

Hi, I think the block out dates are around Thanksgiving a couple of weeks at Christmas. Also I wanted to let you know I sent you a private message inviting you to join the facebook group.

It is so interesting because another poster stated they were told they won for the January 1 drawing and they were notifed January 21. Then you won for day 3 so January 2 right since the contest started on December 31 and you got notified on January 23. I wonder if that means they didn't even start to notify people until January 21?

Of course I am only thinking it out this way because I'm hopeful that's the case! That would mean they have 32 days of prizes to give out and if they didn't start notifying people until January 21 then maybe there are more prizes still to give out?

Although as I type this I'm thinking I read that someone on here got an email on January 17th...I don't have time to go back through the old posts but that would poke a big hole in my theory (hopeful theory)
