If we are staying at an airport hotel is it possible to go back to airport and catch the Magical express to the parks? or is that prohibitted? I assume we would have to take the express to one of the hotels and then catch another bus to thepark??? Or does someone have advise on getting a group of about 30 to the park on the cheap - without staying at resort property...

You cannot use the ME since you and your group are not staying at one of the WDW resorts as registered guests. The ME does not go to any of the 4 WDW theme parks, anyway - only to the WDW resorts.

Check with your hotel to see if they have a shuttle service to WDW and/or contact MEARS or other local transportation companies for their transportation options.

To clarify what Endeavor said about not being able to use Disney's Magical Express to get from the airport to a WDW resort hotel ... he means "cannot" in terms of "impossible," not in terms of "not allowed to."

DME is a function of WDW resort reservations. If you aren't listed on the reservation at a WDW resort hotel, you won't receive the necessary paperwork to register at the DME counter (and you need photo ID with or without the paperwork). Without that, you can't board the bus. The bus people religiously scan each and every voucher before they let someone on the bus, because that scan is the only way that the bus subcontractor gets paid by Disney ... it's their only way to prove to Disney how many people got on the bus, and they get a per person payment from Disney.

The stark truth about WDW is that nothing is cheap.

Lynx do a bus number 111 which runs from the airport to the Magic Kingdom Transportation & Ticket Center and takes about an hour and 10 minutes. From the TTC you can get Disney transportation to the other parks. The bus costs $2 and you can get there in time for park opening. That is probably going to be your cheapest option if you are planning to stay at an airport hotel. Check out the schedule on golynx.com. Or you could look at the other bus routes and choose a cheap hotel close to a bus stop. The number 50 also goes to the TTC.

(for those eavesdropping)

If you were booked at a Disney's resort, you may arrive sooner and stay elsewhere and then take Magical Express to your resort on (some family members can arrive after) your check in day.
