WDW Tickets at Disneyland?

I read that Disneyworld muti-day tickets will be accepted for admittance at Disneyland? Is this correct? I have a 10 day non expiring for WDW, and it would save big bucks if I could use it on my first trip to Disneyland since 1973! I KNOW I can't use my old E tickets LOL!

Yes you can use it. My parents just used their WDW tickets when we were there earlier this week. You take them directly to the turnstiles and the CM will deduct a day off the ticket, it does take a few extra minutes, just FYI.

We took some old tickets to the gate over Labor Day weekend and were actually sent to Guest Services to redeem them. They have to exchange them for DL media for admission. I would recommend just going straight over to the Guest Services window to the left of the DL entry gates and saving yourself the chance that they will send you there anyway.

I think it just depends on the CM you get. DH visited in October and went to Guest Services first and they had no idea what he was talking about. Then, he went to the gate and the CM knew exactly what to do. The CM called someone over who deducted a day off the ticket and gave him a DL ticket to use for the day.

Is this a new thing? We had park hoppers in WDW with two days left in '08 and when we got back, they said we couldn't use them at DLR. I called three different times just to make sure :(

We did this after a 1992 WDW trip, so it's not new. I don't think all the CM's are sufficiently trained though...

The Disneyland Resort reserves the right to honour Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park tickets as part of the Legendary Guest Service that our Guests have come to expect from Disney Parks.

However, at the same time, it isn't an official offering, and it's not really conveyed to Cast Members in Florida as an available option.

Hi there!

I would also need more info on this issue. I have a one day WDW ticket (no hopper) thats worth around $80. If I understand correctly, Disneyland wont deduct the $80 from a 4 day hopper, they will give me a one day ticket and then I will need to buy a 3 day hopper?

Thanks alot!

More as to this:
1. When using a WDW ticket to obtain the DL ticket, does one receive a Park Hopper?
2. I'm a little hazy on the early admission . . . is that dependent on the ticket, or a stay a Disney resort?

I called Disneyland, not WDW, three different times. They all said the same thing - no way. But we had those little plastic room cards that had our hotel and dining plan and park hoppers all on it. I wonder if that still would have worked? Now I'm a bit steamed.

Were your tickets non-expiring? Only those will work. If they are, they should be good still and you should bring them next time you go and ask at the park if for some reason they are still telling you no over the phone. For us it isn't worth it because we never buy the no expiration option and so it would cost us more to buy that than to just buy a Disneyland ticket.

CMs on the phone in both Orlando and Anaheim are notoriously bad at knowing the actual operations inside the parks... It's really too bad, but it's not uncommon to get wrong answers on the phones.

carlbarry, from what I've read, if your WDW ticket is a hopper, your DLR one-day ticket will be a hopper.

One Magic Morning is given to those with normal 3+ day DLR tickets. You will be exchanging your days one day at a time, so you will not have a multiday ticket. However, Magic Morning is ALSO given to those staying onsite; you can attend it each day MM is offered during your onsite stay, including the day of checkin (if offered and you're there early enough) and checkout (if offered), as long as you have admission. So if you're staying onsite, you would get your one-day ticket that morning, then you would show admission AND your room keycard (aka "key to the magic" at DLR) to get the MM.

Jozymouse, correct. If you want to use that one-day ticket, you'd exchange it for a one day ticket, then the rest of your stay you would need to buy DLR tickets. If it's one of the tickets you got with a package, when you had other admission for WDW, and it's NEVER been used, it might be better for you financially to just save it, and upgrade it on a future WDW trip, where you would get the value put towards a WDW ticket.
