I think it has more to do with attempting to recoup some of the $1.5 billion investment in My Magic +, magic bands, etc. I don't think Disney is seeing the increased profit from next gen they were hoping for so they needed to show Wall Street increased profits for their next quarter.

Wow.
Over $100 with tax just to get in. It really makes you look around and do the math when you're in the park and see all the crowds. They take in a LOT of money. (Yes, I know it costs a lot of money to run the park)...

The increased price will put more pressure on the guest to "get their money's worth" in their mind and lead to higher expectations.
