I can not ride sim rides and was trying to get a list at WDW that I should avoid. I have no problem with roller coasters. It is the shaking rides that I can not handle. Thank you.

Soarin- Little shaking
Sum of all thrills
Dinosaur
Star Tours

Any others?

Mission space

1st of all, welcome to the Dis Boards NorthernBuckeye :wave2:

Just want to say I can not do the simulator rides either BUT I can do Soarin. See what others have to say, but if you think you might be able to handle Soarin I would definately recommend that you do it. Its one of my favorites.

Karen :)

I also have trouble with any film sim...but Dinosaur has no video while moving. Bumpy, dark and loud, but "real".

Philharmagic can be iffy due to 3D...Muppets more tame.

Dinosaur is not a simulator, although it is a very shaky/jerky ride, which as you said, is what you're trying to avoid.

As for Soarin', I'd say if you can handle sitting on a park bench, you can handle Soarin'. There is very little movement.

True but the simulated movement might induce motion sickness in someone prone to the condition.

A question near and dear to my heart. I suffer from bad motion sickness.....I MEAN BAD!! :confused3

I was out of commission for 2 days at WDW from riding Mission Space! Worst 2 days ever!!! I haven't been on a cruise because I'm so worried. However, I have been on Soarin' a ton of times and have never been sick. I did get queasy one time but I closed my eyes and kind of gathered my senses and it worked. I don't do Space Mountain or Rocking Roller Coaster, etc. Best of luck!

The only simulated ride I do is soarin. I look straight ahead and do not look to the side. It only makes me slightly nauseous. You might also be aware of mickeys philharmagic show. I do watch it but have to be careful which way I'm looking as well. I know you said roller coasters don't make you sick but tower of terror and rock n roller coaster make me nauseous. I take a couple of non drowsy Dramamine and hope for the best on Hollywood studios day. I also feel bad after space mountain but quit riding it because it was so rough so I don't have to worry about that icky feeling anymore associated with the motion part of that. The buzz ride makes me nauseous if there's too much spinning and there's a part of that ride that has stars that you're flying through so I close my eyes.

Welcome, Out of your list the only one i have no issues with is Sorin!..... Give Sorin a try. the others turn me green. Mission space being the worst then star tours. Best of luck.

Wow, impressed by the quick replies! I have no problem with coasters, live near Cedar Point and Millenium and Top Fuel are no problem. I will continue to edit my first post thank you to your help.

Another motion sickness sufferer. I have done Soarin many times and have no issues with it except for near the end when they do the Disneyland scene. I think the darkness of that particular scene bothers me where the others are not a problem.

worst case scenario, close your eyes. Like others have said, very little physical movement so if the visual motion bothers you, you will be fine with eyes closed. Same with Philharmagic or any of the world showcase movies.

Ironically, I have done Mission Space both sides and got equally sick on them. the spinning didn't bother me at all, its the rocking and jerking that gets me. I think I am done with that one!

For some reason, Mission Space didn't bother me when I rode it (I stared straight ahead and I'm pretty sure I never blinked).

I got sick immediately after riding Soarin'.

I don't do well with 3D at all, so I try to avoid those attractions. I haven't been on the updated 3D Star Tours for that reason.

Like the OP, roller coasters don't bother me at all. I think because they are generally open and you get the benefit of the rushing air. That seems to take care of any motion sickness or nausea for me.
