WDW resorts where you wouldnt/shouldnt walk around by yourself at night?

Many folks have echoed the same thoughts. You need to be careful no matter where you are, even at WDW.

:) I hope I don't get flamed for saying this, but I just hope that you keep your guard up anyway. Unfortunately there are still bad folks out there, even at Disney, and I have to say I would definitely keep to the lighted places even if you feel safe. A false sense of security sometimes makes us do things we would n't do normally. I hope I didn't offend anyone, just want everybody to be safe! :lovestruc

No, this is very good advice. No one should ever assume that WDW is without crime. They do an excellent job, but common sense will always be needed in any situation where lots of people gather.

I felt a bit uneasy the first night we were at POFQ last week. Our room was near the parking lot in building 7 and we (DD8 and myself) had to walk from the bus stop to the room after dark. It was very quiet and a long way from anything and anybody. It was so quiet, it was eerie! I swear we were the only people booked in the entire building and to top it all off they use the parking lot for Disney transport starting at 6:30 a.m. I looked out the window and counted 7 idling buses in the parking lot!
I went to the front desk and had us moved to buillding 5 the next day. Even the CM questioned why the heck they put us way back there! We felt perfectly safe for the rest of our trip. It's a lovely resort! :flower:

If you're worried about having to walk around late at nite by yourself maybe you should consider getting some pepper spray too keep with you. It's small so it's not a big deal to carry it, and if someone were to give you problems it would certainly help. It might also just help you feel safer, even though it's likely you'll be perfectly safe.

Just don't try to take it on a plane!!

I guess I thought that was obvious, but it can't hurt to mention it to those who might not be thinking about it

On our last trip to the All Star Resort a rabbit hopped out right in front of me on the way back to my room! I nearly fainted :scared1: and I was 7 months pregnant! So remember that if you hear a noise in the bushed there are a lot of rabbits on the property.

They also have armadillos lol. I was at ASMo, and was up early to get some coffee at the food court and there was an armadillo rooting for worms. I walked right past it, didn't even flinch. I was able to go back to the room and get my camcorder.

As for the OP. I go to WDW solo all the time and have never felt uncomfortable at the resorts at night. Even at 5am when I was wide awake, I walked around no problem. Once in a while would see a CM in a resort cart. I have only stayed at ASMo and Pop alone.

The only time I've ever been scared walking around a resort at night was when I was wandering around ASMu around 3am, unable to sleep because I was too excited. When I heard footsteps nearby, I got a little nervous, but then I saw the person- Disney Security! :rotfl: There went my worries!

Always be careful, but the only place that I would say is "dicey" would be Pleasure island. People drink , let their guard down, and I am sure pickpockets, petty theives can have a field day on vacationers that think "Im in Disney nothing bad can happen".

If your traveling alone from PI (or anywhere) back to a resort late night, I would suggest always getting off the bus at the hotel lobby. I do believe if you ask, the front desk will call security and escort a female guest to their room if for any reason you don't want to walk down a path at night.
