WDW renegged on my old never-expiring tickets. -watch out!!!

Last year, I claimed a 1990 ticket (15 years old). The only response I got was, "Wow, this is the oldest so far today." I got a button for my effort..... :-)

CBR has an internal shuttle that will take you from one area to another
you take the shuttle when all you want to do is get a cup of coffee and dessert. Me, I'd prefer to stay in building 45, and take a 30' walk to get it.
My kids also liked going back a forth the the "big" pool take a look at the map, building 39 is a hike.

That is not the way to write a complaint letter. You'll be lucky to even get a response. I only made it halfway through.

::yes:: That was further than I made it.....

Sorry, but that is pure high-pressure, used car-salement brow beating tactics. It all fits. I can't believe it, seems so un-disney, but thats the way it went.

Honestly? I have to doubt that Disney has put together this whole multi-level scam that requires the participation of employees all the way from phone operators, to desk clerks to baggage handlers, to the guy watching the Turnstile, to the people inside the Customer building simply to "get" the statisically few people passing through their gates that are carrying leftover days on old passes. It just seems kind of --- paranoid.

I can however more than believe that the WDW property had a huge communication breakdown with you getting conflicting stories based on the experience level, computer access, and training whomever you had in front of you at the moment possessed. That happens often at Disney and it is frustrating when it happens to you.

isn't that a preferred building? did they charge you more for it? (yes - building closer to Old Port Royale are considered 'preferred' and have a higher cost) if you were not charge - I'd say you got a deal and you should be happy with that.

I see your a cast member, I am now even more sure it was a tactic to wear me down and cheat me. You are wrong and won't admit it.

Ummmm..... that's just a tag that the DIS boards automatically generates to posters after they've reached a certain amount of posts.

I can see you are angry--- But I think it is time for you to cool down and think about the happy positive experiences you had on your trip. I am sorry to sound harsh, but you have to "pick your battles" in life. Be thankful that you had the health and money to go to WDW.

I hope your next trip is a better one.

I actually find this whole session quite theraputic. and I did end up having a great time. I now also know to get everything in writing. Don't count on the computers.

That may be true Pam. But he was also right.

Well, I don't know, I just asked to be moved a little closer, My wife said the last time we were there we stayed at building 45 and that is what she wanted. They never said anything about it being an upgrade. I did take the cheapest room in CB.

You wanted them to take bags from an empty room and put in your new room for you after the change?
I can't fathom that happening...I could see you placing your bags with bell services for the day then calling down and having them delivered to your new room.

They did exactly that for us at Pop Century. We checked in early Sunday (rooms weren't ready yet), checked bags, left for Epcot, returned around 11 pm to our rooms (with the baggage there) to find they were not in the building we requested. Requested to move, they said leave our bags by the front door and they will move them next day. Next morning, we left early for MGM, returned around 10 pm to new rooms and all our baggage already delivered! The only thing they didn't leave was the case of beer, which they delivered after we called.
I didn't think it was a lot to ask...

I agree with the others that your letter should be more clear, more concise, and less accusatory if you expect to get anywhere.

However, I do agree that you very well could have gotten park hoppers on your room keys in 2001. I did and in fact have 2 room keys from CBR with 1 park day and 2 pluses on them. Shortly after that, they began offering discounts for prebuying your tickets, and then it became less popular to have PHs on your room keys, but it did used to happen that way.

the scam doesn't involve anybody but insiders. phone operators are denied access to look up keys, they are not in on it. desk clerks look up info and pass the buck. Baggage handlers? not involved they were just stupid. the guy at the turnstile and at the information booth, just following the computers. Paranoid, maybe, but I cannot explain how I else I got one set of information from the information booth and another from the hotel, and the information booth could not talk to the hotel.

No one in this whole conversation has yet to address this. Add in the reluctance to give my any information prior to me leaving my house, and ...

BTW, I not prone to paranoia, I'm also quite sure kennedy was assinated by lee harvey oswald, we landed on the moon, and aliens are not interested in landing in corn fields in the middle of noplace. ;)

Well take it from me, if you go to use those PHs, make sure you bring your receipt!!!

that's how it's supposed to work. can you imagine if at 11pm you got back to your room, no bags, and had to wait an hour to shower and go to bed?

At first I thought, "oh they must be mistaking the expiration date of the room key with the expiration of the park hopper part" That's how I started out (nicely) with the information booth. Then he got snippy and turned the monitor towards me to "prove" the cards were expired. That's when I asked him to call CB and check for himself. He said he didn't have to. All the information was on his screen. I could check with city hall if I liked, after I bought new tickets, and waited on a line at city hall, with two kids waiting to go on rides, ...

No I can't! And we were staying at a value resort! You were in a nicer place, paid considerably more for your rooms, so you should rightly expect a higher level of service!
Sorry you had all that happen.

I've stayed at the all-star, we moved to the CB in 2001 because of the pool, ammenities, we loved it so much that's why we went back in 2005. Same time frame (sept-oct) same deal (cheapest room in CB) what a difference.

Yes we did. It's to discourage the selling or transferring of tickets. It's the same reason why Disney now does the bio-metrics on everyone.

As for your baggage delivery v/s that of "Beck's mom" ... I know for a fact that baggage delivery if different between a Value and a Deluxe resort. Bell Services in a Value resort will go into your room and retrieve your luggage. Bell Services in a Deluxe resort will not go into your room. You must be in the room for both pick up and delivery. I do not stay in Moderates often and when I do I transfer my own luggage. Perhaps someone who resort hops between Moderates and other resorts can give more information on Moderate resort Bell Services policies. I wouldn't be surprised if it is more like a Deluxe Resort than a Value.

Sorry let me be more clear: 1) No-one has yet to explain why CB had my old keys down as non-expiring and the information booth/gate had them down as expiring. 2) No-one can explain why the information booth wouldn't contact CB.

Your baggage story is incorrect. CB gladly picked up my bags, and informed me not to worry, they will handle the entire switch just as long as the bags were closed. Besides that the dumbest thing I've ever heard. What they made up the room without entering it? That makes no sense. They are in and out of the room all the time. Who wants their day at a park interrupted thinking about bags and such?
