Finally persuaded DBF that the benefits of an Annual Pass far out way the extra cost in upgrading from a 10 day world pass. Can any of you guys with passes give me the low down on what benefits we really will get.

Obviously it does depend on which AP you get. We just get the normal AP which means we get access to the 4 main parks only whenever we want. So if we just want to pop in for breakfast and then go to another park that day or even go off-site for the rest of the day we can!! Sometimes I just go in for a bit of shopping.

With the AP you also get discounts at the World of Disney Store in DTD 10% I think.

Discount on lunches at most of the EPCOT restaurants.

Discount on other restaurants as well e.g. Fultons and Portobello yacht Club.

Discount on Tours.

Discount on Grand Floridian Spa

Discount on Minature Golf.

If you wnat the Premium Annual Pass this will cost another $130 but will give you unlimited access to all the water parks and Pleasure Island in the 12 month period. As I don't get to go to the water parks that often I felt that this pass wasn't worth it for us and besides with the normal AP you can get money off admission into the water parks and PI anyway so I still save a little money if I decided I want to do those parks.

Here's some more info
and this is a breakeven chart

You also get access to DisneyQuest with the Premium Annual Pass. We brought this last year and it has proved to be a bargain for us. Last years trip 14 day's + plus this years trip 18 day's = 31 day's access :)

Thanks you gusy for the info. Sounds as though PAP is the one for us. DBF likes the water parks and I like Pl and the theme parks so I think we will be exchanging our 10 day world tickets when we get there.

Now that we're totally hooked we plan (hopefully) to go twice next year:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We plan on buying annual passes and next year we will visit 2 weeks before the passes expire and once in between (3 hols from one years pass)...we think this we will definately be getting value from the passes by doing this....just need cheap flights and we'r off:p

Florence

This just popped in to my head, When I was reading Allie's Trip Report the 2nd post. She tried to upgrade 10 day passes and Guest Relations said they couldn't do it. Might be worth sending her a PM to check???

I upgraded 10 day passes to PAP at Guest Relations in DTD. They weren't very hopeful it would work but it did!

Kaylee ~ Thanks for the heads up.

Sian ~ Are guest relations in DTD the only ones that can do it and can you tell how much money you had to pay towards it?

Thank-you.

In theory, all guest relations should be able to do it, but it is not something they are used to doing. If one says they can't I would suggest trying another until somebody sorts it for you. I asked at DTD guest relations and they said they didn't think they could upgrade UK only passes or discounted tickets as they wouldn't be on their computer system. They tried and the computerised till did recognise the passes and I was able to upgrade them. I couldn't tell you what credit I received for them because I got a Disney club discount as well and it was all a bit complicated as I didn't see a breakdown of the figures. I was just glad that they were able to do it. I think I saved about £35 - £40 over the cost of 2 x 10 day passes, plus parking, convenience and discount benefits. It was worth it but I don't think I got anywhere near full credit for the 10 day pass which I hadn't used at all. I would ask how much they are allowing against a PAP before deciding to upgrade.
