Ok, so now the story. So I got to the Casting Center(across from Downtown Disney) around 12:30. Walked into the buliding and walked up this big ramp to the reception. Waited in line to be called, then had to fill out paper work. The normal stuff (name, address, work history, hours you can work...) After you fill that out they call a group in to watch a 15-20 minute film about being a cast member. Then you sit and wait for a casting agent to call you in. From there you will have a personal interview. They ask questions like when can you work, do you have transportation to work, how much money you will make, and other personal things. Then you get fingerprinted and they get sent to the FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) and the FBI. Then you get this nifty folder of papers from Disney. They are about Disney and being a cast member. Then your done! It took me about 2 1/2 hours total. It was fun, and there were tons of people applying for jobs. If you have any other questions about the application process let me know.

How were the people? Were they friendly/rude/organized/whatever? Do you think it's going to ruin the magic knowing so much about the place? What things about being a cast member did they emphasize? How did they choose you to work Space Mountain? Did they ask you any preferences? Do you know how to end up on the "talent" vs. "running rides" end? Lots of questions :goodvibes

The casting agents were very nice. It has the same feeling like being in a Disney resort. They were very organized, and they know what they are doing. I don't know if "the magic" has been taken away now, but I felt like I got to go backstage for a little bit. There are 4 requirements that you must meet to be a cast member. It is called C.A.S.T. The first is Compensation, or how much money you will make hourly. The next is Appearance, men have to have neatly trimmed hair no hair can touch you collar and no facial hair except a full grown but trimmed moustache. For women no extreme hair colors and highlights and one set of small stud earrings. For both men and women no visible tattoos. The next is Schedule, I will quote there saying "At the Walt Disney World Resort our scheduling needs change day to day, hour to hour, and even minute to minute" Scheduling is very important. They can even work with me only coming in two days a week and holidays, but having overtime on those days. The last and most important is Transportation. You must have a reliable means of getting to work. At Disney they have a point system, if you are late you get points added to your card. I'm not sure how many points you can have, but too many and you get terminated. They are very strict about this and want to make sure they have enough cast members to work a certain area and make it seamless when shifts are over and starting again. I selected Space Mountain because my friend in my class works there and he says they have a great time working it. I would feel a bit more comfortable working with somebody I know until I get a hang of it. They do ask what your interested in Attractions, Food Service, Merchandise.... then I got to ask him if I could work at Test Track in Epcot. He said I would have to wait till they need another cast member over there but said I could change anytime I wanted to. So I guess I will wait till they get an opening over there to move to Epcot. To end up on the "talent" end of it you must have an audition. I'm not to knowledgeable on this are so visit this website at http://www.disney.go.com/DisneyCareers/wdwcareers/ and click on Entertainment. It will go over all the requirements of being on the talent side of Walt Disney World. Any more questions? Keep them coming.

You are so lucky. That is where I plan to start out, and hopefully work my way up to Imagineer. :)
