We are looking to travel to WDW this September 2007. I have been here in March, twice in October and once in September. Everytime we've travelled, the parks have been relatively uncrowded. However, when we came to WDW on October 2-9, 2005, it happened to be rather crowded that week. Cast members said just a few days before we arrived (which would be the last week in September) the parks were dead. I am wondering if anyone out there knows the best week(s) to travel this year in September? Are there any local (Orlando, Kissimee etc.) school vacations or school days off, that we may be aware of? This may increase park attendance substantially. If any Florida residents (or others :)) know of any school closings/holidays/events this September, please could you post it here? I do know Labor Day Weekend is packed.
Thanks for all your help!

Welcome to the DIS!

Historically, September has the lightest crowds of the year. Just avoid Labor Day weekend (even that isn't too bad) and you'll have light crowds.

we were there the week of the 19th to the 26th of sept 2006 and the crowds were good we got to the parks in the morning and had no line ups at all. we got on soaring 3 times in a row with out waitng and it was great.

Hi,

I went the second week of septmeber in 2002 & the crowds were super light

you can check disneys website...it shows peak, moderate & value seasons

But the bad news is that it can be super humid around that time, i think thats another reason its lite.

But if you dont mind that its worth not having your whole spent in line....i love off season, im going the week after thanksgiving.

Hope this helps

Thanks everyone for your input. We will pick a week in September soon!
I've found a great place for help with all things Disney!
Happy New Year!

FYI- We were just there Sept 16/24 2006- I wanted to go after Labor Day and after all the kids went back to school that is why I picked those dates- I found that around Wed or Thrusday (9/20-21) the crowds starting picking up a bit (nothing compared to busy times- but for Sept and my taste, it was a bit crowded) I think it may have been b/c some schools may have been closed for Rosh Hashanah- didnt think about that!

A friend of mine was there a week before us and she said it was DEAD! So- if I ever go in Sept again it will be right after Labor day until a few days before the Jewish holiday- yes- I have made choosing the right time to go to Disney a science!- I hate crowds!

PS- The weather was very hot when we were there and the love bugs are out in full force- but I would take those 2 things over crowds anyday!

Good luck! And hopefully you can catch free dining!!!
