Can anyone tell me what Disney would be like in October? This would be our first October trip. Usually we go in summer and it is so hot and crowded.

Good questions, Imok, but there aren't "solid" answers. We go nearly every October and have had weather ranging from very comfortable (low to mid 70s) to really hot (high 90s). It can make a difference as to when you go - early or late October - but there is no guarantee that it won't be hot at the end of the month. For the last couple of years we have been there late in the month and I have worn shorts the whole time - and I am perpetually cold and can/will wear pants without a problem unless it is really hot. However, it cooled off nicely at night and even my husband carried a light long-sleeved pullover for later in the evenings.

Crowds: iffy as well. The Food and Wine Festival (at Epcot) brings out heavier crowds on weekends. If you want to avoid this, you can go to other parks then. This year it will be interesting to see what the crowds are like. I have heard that crowds are down due to the economy, but can tell you that people are still definitely traveling, because there isn't unlimited availability at DVC resorts this fall.

Hope that helps!

Last year we went in Oct, and will be going again this year, last it was warm and a bit humid. Enough where we werent miserable, but me being a cold loving girl wasnt thrilled. that was the first 2 1/2 days. Then it rained, and it was actually kinda chilly (perfect for me) the last 4.

Crowds arent horrid. I've been there and sworn I'd never go back. But then I came back at a different time (early spring, or fall, hence my october love) and was happier.

Weather is closer to summer-like in the beginning and closer to Florida fall-like towards the end of the month.

Usually the humidity has given way to fall though some humid days may pop up every now and then.

It is still very much shorts weather, though a light weight sweater or jacket for the evenings would be smart to pack--just in case!

In 2004 after the hurricanes, it seemed the last hurricane had sucked most of the humidity and warm weather out and it was a very nice October.

The weather should be more pleasant than say...August. On par with about May-ish.

We've been in October 3 times and it's always been in the 80s and less humid. We love October!! Have a great trip!

AFter you go in October you wont want to do in the summer again!

We went Early Sept 06 then Late Oct 08.

Sept had less crowds but A LOT of humidity!!! Daily rain storms, but lines are almost non-existant (at least for us!)

Oct had bigger crowds (less than summer I'm sure) and was perfect weather! Shorts during the day and at night. Swimming during the day....at night it could get a lil chilly, but we were still in the pool.
There seemed to be a lot of non-USA folks there, and as someone explained it to me, it's a heavier time cause they vacation then. Don't know if it is true or not!

Avoid Columbus Day weekend as it is more crowded!

The weather was great last year in mid October, the crowds were a bit much. We are doing the end of Sept. this year.

Last Oct. was beautiful. We were there the Fri.after Columbus day to Wed. Weather was in the 80's during the day and high 60's to mid 70's at night. Shorts during the day with a sweat jacket at night. Crowds weren't bad, longest wait for us was 30 min. at Test Track on a Tue.

Late Oct. 2006 - Temps in the 70s, perfect for touring during the day, dropping to the 50s in the evenings. Light fleece coats for all worked great.

Late Oct. 2007 - 1st 3 days, temps in the high 80s, one day at 91 - very warm & humid, spent lots of time at the pool, less on the go. Finally cooler weather by end of trip, but very different from previous year.

Crowds are definitely down from summer, but weather may not be too much different.

Well, for us, when we went in October is was hot to very hot the entire week. The one day we woke up to rain and we had the morning news on while we got around....it was already 84 degrees at 8 am. Of course, the rain only lasted a short while, and by the time we arrived at the gates to AK, the sun was out. Then, it was 90 degrees and H.U.M.I.D. I was sweating already at 9 am!! Oh well, it's Disney. We got our mini fans out and just dealt with it. Thank God for air conditioned rides and shows.:lovestruc

Now, the crowds were not bad at all. We were there during some magical celebrations thing (07) and our whole family won "free" fast pass lanyards for the entire day at AK, so we walked right on everything, but if I recall, the lines were never long anyway.

Sorry to post again, but i wanted to comment on the non-US guests. We encountered a ton of European guests when we went one October. DH spoke to a nice woman and her grand daughter on our tram back to the our car...they were from Denmark and the little girl spoke no English, but her grand mother wanted to tell us that she thought our DD was adorable (DD was 9 mos old at the time). I guess it's a very popular vacation time for Europeans. It was pretty obvious to us....I think we heard more foreign language spoken on that trip than we heard English! lol

We have gone every October for last 4 years and are going again this year. We usually go 2nd week in October but this year is the week after that. We have always worn t-shirts/ shorts the whole way, with a sweatshirt for the drive back home. We love October.

You will love how MK is decorated! The last time we went in October the weather was perfect, 75-80 during the day, 65-70 at night. Hopefully it's the same this year :)!!!
