I stayed in 4 resorts so far... My favorites are not exactly in that order but here is what I think is the best for a fun/romantic experience for a couple:

1) Polynesian Resort: although I've never been a fan of the pool and can't wait to see what the new pool is going to look like, there is nothing more romantic than walking on the paths at night (with the torches) and the flowers scent (hibiscus?) ... And what a pool!!!

2) Coronado Springs: beautiful site, the best sunrises and sunsets I've seen so far. Also, there are more adults than kids in the resort.

3) Animal Kingdom Lodge : having breakfast on the balcony while watching the giraffes roaming around... Hard to beat.

4) Port Orleans French Quarter: A walk along the river and through the different path and the feeling to be (almost) alone.

And you? Which resort do you consider the best/the most romantic for couples?

We changed from to CBR to CSR for the more adult atmosphere. Never stayed at CSR, but it looks beautiful and the deluxe amenities at a moderate price are a bonus.

There are many people staying there to attend conferences so you'll meet a lot of people in suits with a suitcase on your way to the lobby. Most children you'll see, you'll see them at the kiddie pool.

I think they can ALL be romantic, depending on what floats your boat:love: As far as traditionally romantic I would go with GF and AKL for deluxes and CSR and POFQ for moderates. The Poly would normally fit the idea of romance but it always seems so inundated with small kids I just don't feel it there. I actually don't really like CSR for other reasons, but I do think it has a VERY romantic feel. Maybe because it is a convention resort and therefore less family oriented???? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against kids (have 4 of them myself) but they dont usually add to a romantic vibe for me

CSR was very spread out for me, but then I stayed solo. Have you considered Yacht Club?

Maybe I have been lucky so far (it is true that we always go during october-april-may which is low season) but I've never noticed that much kids on-site, except in the restaurants.

Or maybe kids don't bother me enough, therefore I never notice? :rotfl2:

Really? From the farthest building, it never took us longer than a 6 minutes walk to get to the lobby... I'm always surprised when people talk about "long walks".

Of the resorts I've stayed at, YC was by far the best for an adult-only trip, IMO. That's where DH and I stayed for our first kid-free trip last year. This time (5 more weeks!) we are going with WL. I think probably any of the deluxes would be great for couples

Hands down...

Honeymoon Suite Grand Floridian ,, Main Building Theme Park View... Private floor.. :cloud9:

I'm thinking of staying one night at YC during our next trip (we love split stays) just to try it and see if the Stormalong Bay is THAT awesome! :lmao:

My husband and I stayed in the POR Royal Room and had quite a romantic time. Such a beautiful resort with beautiful walkways to stroll along the river. The noise of horse steps as the horse carriage comes by, or the sounds of the waves of the river while a boat makes its way to DTD makes POR one of my favorite resorts. Boatwrights is also delicious and it's usually not a crazy restaurant in terms of noise and busyness.

We are stayign at WL this coming Sept and think it will be another new favorite for us!

Before children, my husband and I stayed at the YC. Especially liked our evening walks "home" from Epcot through the International Gateway.

My vote goes to the BWI. It seems quieter than other resorts and the quiet pool is really quiet:goodvibes. Plus there's lot of places to stroll and being able to walk to 2 parks is huge for us.

Ooooh....yeah, the quiet pool at BWI is beautiful , especially when the roses are in full bloom. I like the lounge at BWI also. Stormalong Bay,although awesome for older kids and teens, is the least relaxing and romantic spot I can think of outside of maybe Fantasyland. Definitely worth checking out if romance and relaxation is not your goal though.

What's BWI?

Love this thread!
Right now we are planning on doing a split stay on either side of our Cruise.

First part of the stay - 3 nights at a Moderate (leaning toward CSR)

Second part of the stay - 4 nights at a Deluxe (can't decide between Poly, BC, BWI, and GF)

Think maybe we could do a Poll for each resort level? So people can vote for their favorite?

When are you leaving? Because right now, the Polynesian Resort is going through pretty important refurbishments (the pool closed today and might remain closed until March 2015)

I think a poll would be a great idea!

Yeah that is one of the main things keeping us from picking the Poly... I keep hearing construction horror stories.
We would be staying in early May 2015 so I hope it would be done then.... but I'm not sure if I want to risk it. :confused3
