I can't find it now, but someone said that the day MK opened they expected 100,00 people to show up but only 10,000 did....

That is actually backwards. The opening day was an invitation only event. Someone took an invitation and made about 90,000 copies and handed them out. So instead of 10,000 guests for opening day there were 100,000.

Also the plumbers could only get the water-fountins or the toilets working by opening day and made Roy choose which one he wanted...he of coarse had to choose toilets. So on opening day there were operating water fountins, which caused many to belive that it was a ploy to sell more soda.

I thought this was MK Disneyland???

Oh and "Tink" has to be male, because the female's curvier figure gets in the way of said physics.QUOTE]

Tinkerbelle is NOT male. I have former students who are in the process of becoming Tink.

Did you know that Summit Plummit is the tallest water slide in the world! Also did you know that before Mickey was the Sorcerer, Walt Disney originaly wanted Dopey to play the part. That is why when you see Mickey as the sorcerer you can notice how the way he wears the clothes resembles the way Dopey wears his clothes (ex: long shirt that falls over his feet). I have A LOT more secrets but too much to say in one posting. lol. I am having sooo much fun reading all of these awesome facts! :rotfl: :teeth: ;)

Well when I worked there, my best friend Eric tried out for Tink and Peter Pan, very small guy, and he told me that they always had problems when women were Tink, b/c they never flew right.

During our KTTK tour (or was it the MM tour?), the guide mentioned that they USED to have men (boys) as Tinkerbell but they stopped using them when the cameras and videocameras (that could zoom in on Tinkerbell so close)
became so popular.

Not sure I believe the guide but that's what she said.

All the rooms in the Poly and Contemporary were constructed offsite (and completely furnished) and trucked to the hotels and inserted by crane.

Supposedly Liberty Square all the way to Frontierland is supposed to be set up to mimic US geography, with Haunted Mansion representing a Hudson Valley estate, and so on.

There is an homage to Elvis in the Rock N Rollercoaster garage area...

Did you know if you stand right in front of the castle at precisely noon and look at the highest spire the sun will reflect perfectly off the top spire and create a Tinkerbell shape. This was something that the Disney Imagineers toyed with and could never prefect. However, Many people have seen it.

i want to check it out when i go!

i have no tips :sad2: (no tips yet atleast)

The rooms were constructed seperate from the resorts, however they were constructed "onsite." There was a huge US steel facility built north of the MK. This is where the room construction was done, and the facility is now part of the WDW north area Central Shops.

I know somewhere there was a link to a word document with alot of these facts. I can't seem to find it! :confused3 Is there someone that can give me the link so I can print it out?

I'm going to read them on the long plane flight to FL. :cheer2:

THANKS!!

What about daylight savings? I don't think even Diney can manipulate mother Nature.
BTW where did you here such an obscure fact?

Didn't you know that Disney execs routinely change the weather. When drink sales are down, they make it unbearably hot. When there's an overstock of ponchos, they make it rain.

Don't believe me? Then explain how they make it snow on Main Street (MVMCP) ?!?

Hidden Mickey at MK - Pinocchio's Cafe

In the Magic Kingdom, next to It's A Small World is Pinocchio's Cafe. In the dinning room with the Blue Fairy murel the are three small clouds to the right of the fairy in the shape of a Mickey not larger than a dime. Ask a castmember about this Hidden Mickey.

Hidden Mickey just outside the Haunted Mansion Ride - MK, WDW

This is a really cool hidden mickey. It's the end of the graveyard scene, toward the very end of the ride. You have to turn around at the end of the graveyard, look over the cart and behind you to the right and you'll see the Grim Reaper. He is holding his hand up, and his fingers are curled to make a glowing mickey head. It was obviously intentional. It helps to be sitting in the right side of the cart.

THIS ONE IS REALLY COOL! :cool1:

New (er) Tombstone added at Haunted Mansion Ride, MK, WDW

The new tombstone in HM is honoring imagineer Leota Thomas who passed away. Every few minutes her head goes forward and her eyes open to reveal green glowing eyes.
