WDW/DCL Western Caribbean Honeymoon Extravaganza!! DONE!!! - PG 51!!

If I drank that much in a day I would've passed out to. The Golden Mickey's are on YouTube. Not the same as seeing them in person, but it's good for a fix.

Well, let me tell you, that was the BIGGEST and STRONGEST margarita I have ever had in my LIFE!! It was so big, in fact, that when she was pouring it from the shaker to the glass, she kept making me sip it to add more in!

:thumbsup2

Just a few days ago, we had a similar experience. We had driven to Santa Barbara to see Depeche Mode (yea, I'm OLD) in concert, but we stopped at a restaurant ("Left at Albuquerque") for "dinner" (actually, appetizers and drinks). We both wanted maragritas, so I had the bright idea of ordering a "Route 66"; 66 ounces of margarita (actually, 58 ounces or so, but you get the point), to which I added the "top shelf option".

So in comes this FISH BOWL, and it was STRONG. I told my wife that we needn't finish it, and as I had 2 miles more to drive before we parked for the concert, I wouldn't be drinking much.

Well, I forgot how much she HATES wasting money, so at the end of our meal, the whole thing was EMPTY.

And I hadn't drunk much at all.

And my wife is a bit of a "lightweight" when it comes to alcohol.

And we really hadn't eaten much.

And a good, strong margarita doesn't hit you full force until about 30 minutes later.

Needless to say, she doesn't remember much about the concert...

Are any of your family reading Buffy Season 8?

Hubby is - he's really enjoying them and keeps telling me tidbits.

I am unfortunately a philistine and don't read graphic novels!:confused3

Nikki - you are painting a brilliant picture of life on the cruise and I think I would feel the same as you! I would love to go for the experience but I'm worried I'd just feel a bit hemmed in and....bored?:scared1:

I'm also quite surprised by the quality of the food - I wouldn't have expected that!

Loving the updates!:thumbsup2

Bunnies, bunnies - it must be Bunnies!

Oh I'll have to check it out!

I bet she had fun though! I LOVE Depeche Mode! :thumbsup2 How was the concert?

I'm not reading them either and I really don't even want to know about it. In my mind, it ended when it ended.

Glad my TR is painting a picture for you! I'm just kind of telling it as it was. Ya know, I was reeeeally surprised by the food, too!

Bunnies, bunnies - it must be Bunnies!

Or maybe midgets....

I can tell you that both my sister and I love it as well. Heck, when I got the CD, my sister paid me so I would let her put it on her iTunes first. :rotfl:

My mom never thought Buffy was a good show either, until she actually sat down and watched an episode. My sister and I always watched it when we were in middle and high school, but my mom thought it was just a teen show. But then I bought the DVDs when I lived with my parents after college, and she actually watched a lot of episodes with me.

I always meant to put on the Once More with Feeling episode with her, and I think it was Easter, since I was telling her it was a musical with a song about bunnies, and bunnies have a lot to do with Easter.

Awesome! Yeah from the outside it looks "stupid" but once you actually sit down and watch, it's so good!

I hope you weren't too hungover when you woke up the next day after drinking all that tequila.:drinking:I know I wouldn't be able to get out of bed if I'd drank that much.

Hi Nikki,

De-lurking to say: I love Buffy, too! I think I've watched the entire seven seasons at least four times. It's a sickness.

I've always thought they should show Once More With Feeling at movie theaters, Rocky-Horror style, so everyone in the audience could sing along. :dance3:

Sorry your cruise wasn't as fun as you'd hoped...I've been on a few non-Disney (gasp!) cruises, and really enjoyed them. BUT the food was excellent, and the ports of call were super-interesting (Europe), so they were the perfect combinations of activity, relaxing, and food. Your cruise sounds like way too much relaxing and not nearly enough good food! Bummer!

Haha! Well considering I fell asleep around 5 or 6, I had slept it off by the next morning!

YES! We've said that too, about it playing in theatres Rocky Horror style. We would definitely go see that! I'm so excited about all the Buffy love!

Oh no! Just saw a commercial for the new Survivor...guess where it is this season?? SAMOA!! You remember in an early update my deal every time I passed the Samoa building at the Poly! Now every Thursday I'm going to be singing...

"Samoans! Do the humpty hump!"

I really should sub to this report. I see you post elsewhere and I think, "oh, I wonder if she's posted anything new..." and I meander over here and there's another 10 chapters up. (Ok, more like 2...whatever.)

So I'm just putting it out there that I'm officially subscribing. My boyfriend's talked me into a Carnival Cruise this winter. I'm not sure how that'll go yet...but considering he's been coming to Disney without complaint, I gave in :)

Newbie here...really enjoying your TR!!!

And also enjoying a new perspective on the cruise. But I can't believe you missed the Golden Mickeys!!! And formal nite - I was so looking forward to hearing your review (and seeing your attire!) ;)

Oh well...I am hoping for a big blow-out last nite in WDW when you get back to dry land! :goodvibes

Help the newbie out..what are the Golden Mickey's? :confused3

So far a lot of how you feel about cruising is the same as my one non-Disney cruise experience. I am glad I went, but at least for me, I'm not sure I would do it again. All I'd think about is all the time and money I could be spending somewhere I KNOW I'd have more fun, y'know? I'm not knocking it for those who love the experience, I can totally see why, it just doesn't seem as good a "fit" for my personality and my family.

HA ok ya I feel your pain for passing out early after all the drinks.. We did Te-KILL-YA and then Martini tasting in the SAME DAY.

I too missed the Golden Mickeys but I actually made it to the theater.. just ended up passing out in it LOL. sooooo.. again, dont feel bad LOL

Huge Buffy fan here too. I watched it from the first season and I now own all the DVD's. Big Angel/Firefly/Dollhouse fan too. :thumbsup2

Love the tipsy pictures. :lmao:

Glad you finally decided to join us!! I think going into the cruise with lower expectation will work in your benefit. My high expectations were part of the problem.

Haha, sorry about formal night! I just had no choice really. There was no way I would have made it to dinner! We didn't spend another NIGHT in disney but we did spend our last day in EPCOT and it was FANTASTIC!!

Help the newbie out..what are the Golden Mickey's? :confused3

Golden Mickey's is one of the broadway style stage shows that plays on formal night. I don't really know much more, since I missed it! ;)

I am really so thrilled that other people think the same about cruises. I thought I was the only one!!

Haha! Well, you made it closer than I did! Although I'm sure I was more comfortable!

:woohoo: Tom started really into Buffy and Firefly. I started watching Buffy when he had it on and just got dragged in! I've seen the beginning of the Firefly movie a bunch of times but I don't think I've ever seen the whole thing. (There was only one season, right?) Tom wants to get the Angel seasons now but I'm skeptical like I was with Buffy in the beginning. I'd rather just watch Buffy again! Never watched Dollhouse.

You really have to watch Angel! It's soooo good (and has cameos from Buffy people!). As for Firefly. It was the most perfect one season of TV ever. It's all good - you like Buffy, you'll like these - promise!

Where were we - oh yeah - you were totally legless on the cruise!:rotfl2:

Well, a little while ago, I saw Angel on the guide so I put it on just to check it out and just in the 20 mins or so that I saw, it totally spoiled the end of Buffy for me!! Spike was on, I learned he was a ghost AND he mentioned that he got his soul back. We were like halfway through season 6 when I saw that. Oh well! I'll definitely watch it eventually.

Okay, back to the cruise!

I can't believe you drank ALL THAT!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I wanted to do that tasting, but Pods doesn't really like tequila (pronounced TA- KILL- YA ;)) so we skipped it. OMG, we LIKE to drink, and 3 shots of tequila and 2 lil ritas would have made US silly- can't imagine what it did to you!!!

Although I did love seeing the effects at Bingo!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: You look awfully happy there, sweetie! :jumping1:

Day 10 ~ July 28, 2009
Grand Cayman ~ Breakfast and Dolphin Discovery

Well, being that I slept about 12 hours, I woke up pretty early. I went out to the verandah to watch us pull into Grand Cayman. There were 4 ships there that day. Us and 3 Carnival!

ry%3D480

Okay, where to go for breakfast....Topsiders? NO! Lumiere's? NO WAY!! Let's
try Parrat Cay.

ry%3D480

Parrot Cay was MUCH better, mostly because it was a buffet and I could SEE all the fod before deciding what I wanted.

My plate.
ry%3D480

Tom's plate.

Again, we had the hovering server problem. So we just ate quickly and got out of there.

Then Tom made a really stupid suggestion..."Wanna get off and walk around Grand Cayman before our excursion?" And I gave a really stupid answer..."Sure!!"

Ugh, what were we thinking?!?! Again, it was really hot and it was ALL stores!! We went in a few but didn't buy anything. And the worst part was, there as no point in going back to the ship now, especially because we took a tender boat, so we just had to walk around and WAIT until 12:15 for our excursion meeting time.

Ooops! I'm getting ahead of the pictures!

Tendering Tom! (And pics we took in Grand cayman!)

This was a little shopping area RIGHT on the dock. We came back here again after walking around because it was in the shade and we could see the meeting place for our excursion. The view wasn't bad either!
