WDW/DCL Western Caribbean Honeymoon Extravaganza!! DONE!!! - PG 51!!

Alright, so after what seems like waiting FOREVER unti 12:15, it was finally time to make our way to the line. We stood in line for just a few minutes and were quickly "checked in." Then we waited....and waited...and waited....

OH and get this! MATTHEW WAS ON THIS EXCURSION!!! UGGGHHHHH!!!

Thankfully, he and his family were doing the extreme swim and we were doing the "encounter." But we did run into him at the Turtle Farm.

So anyway, we waited off to the side, got our wristbands and stickers and finally around 12:45, we were escorted to the parking lot and into the shady looking shuttle bus.

Tom is ready!

The driver starts the bus, we move about a foot, it putters and......dead. He can't get it started. So out we all go and into bus number 2!
ry%3D480

By the time we were actually on our way, it was 1:00.

It was more chaos when we got to the place. It was all very unorganized. It was a lot of waiting. But finally we got into the water and got to pet the dolphins! Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of that. I DID take some with my waterproof camera but didn't scan them to my computer.

After our swim, it was more of, "what now?" We were told to wait so we can view our pictures and video. After a while, we were brought upstairs to the freeeeeezing cold room to watch out video and they played the wrong video! I couldn't stand how cold it was any more so I said, screw the video! I'm outta here! We went back down to the gift shop and bought the pictures of our dolphin kisses!

Once we bought the pics, we decided to go across the street and check out the Turtle Farm. We went in the back and there was a giant pool with a massive amount of turtles. It was called the "Breeding Pond." Once Tom was aware of that, he almost vomited and was regretting leaning over to take these pictures because he got splashed with breeding turtle juice!

Once we saw the breeding pond, we were DONE with smelly turtles. BUT you can't exit without going through the GIFT SHOP of course! And that's where we saw Matthew. He was pretty much grabbing everything and completely disobeying his parents. Let's GO!

We went back to Dophin Discovery to wait for the shuttle back to the dock.
ry%3D480

There was a LONG line to get back on the tender boat but it went pretty quickly. We were on the boat around 4:00 and were pulling back up to the Magic!

We went back to the room to shower ASAP! We ordered some room service for a late lunch.

After we ate, we just relaxed until it was time for the show!! Twice Charmed.

Up Next: Twice Charmed, Dinner at Palo and we actually did "stuff" tonight!

Are we going to see the Dolphin kisses??

I would love to do that. You are lucky :)

Yeah, no fair skipping the dolphin pictures! Emmy (my 12 almost 13 year old) wants to do either that or the SNUBA with the fishes next time at Epcot).

Um...the pizza...maybe it just didn't photograph well?

I have been thinking a lot about how the food could be so different on the ship as compared to in the parks. Do you think it's just because they can't get shipments of fresh food everyday, so it impacts the menu? Is it a cost-saving measure, like maybe people eat more on a cruise? Hmm, something to think about.

Okay guys!! I'll scan the pics and post them!!!!

Oh no, the pizza was completely disgusting! I'm so glad you caught that just by looking at it. I wasn't going to even comment on it because I don't want people to think I'm just complaining about everything.

Oh my gosh---STAY AWAY MATTHEW! haha you poor things:scared1:

I do have to ask, however, where did you get that fabulous mickey swim suit? I must have one!! So sorry its ending up like this...man...It is entertaining, though!

OHH I wanna see pics with the Dolphins.

ANd so glad I didnt get an up close view of the turtles when we went it would have freaked me out.. we gota boot leg tour had to look through the fence.. DONT ASK lol

Ok 3rd, where did ya get he suit! (yet on me those lil mickeys would be HUGE lol)

Oh no! :scared1: NOT MATTHEW!

At least you didn't have too much of an encounter with him!

I love the picture of Tom working that wristband look!

Can I also add my vote to the list of people who want to see the dolphin kisses??

BTW - Revealing Spike in Angel before the end of Buffy was stoopid! Don't let that put you off - there are some amazing episodes of Angel - some featuring Buffy herself! If you don't watch any other episode of Angel - watch 'I will Remember You' from season one - you'll cry!:sad1:

:woohoo: Tom started really into Buffy and Firefly. I started watching Buffy when he had it on and just got dragged in! I've seen the beginning of the Firefly movie a bunch of times but I don't think I've ever seen the whole thing. (There was only one season, right?) Tom wants to get the Angel seasons now but I'm skeptical like I was with Buffy in the beginning. I'd rather just watch Buffy again! Never watched Dollhouse.
Angel is a good show, and I like it. But, it's not as good as Buffy IMO, and while I almost always "had" to watch Buffy, I never was as connected to Angel.

I think that's my favorite episode. It's the eighth episode right, with Sarah Michelle Gellar in it?

I can't believe you drank ALL THAT!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I wanted to do that tasting, but Pods doesn't really like tequila (pronounced TA- KILL- YA ;)) so we skipped it. OMG, we LIKE to drink, and 3 shots of tequila and 2 lil ritas would have made US silly- can't imagine what it did to you!!!

Although I did love seeing the effects at Bingo!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: You look awfully happy there, sweetie! :jumping1:

Hehe! Oh yeah, I was having a good old time at Bingo!

Oh my gosh---STAY AWAY MATTHEW! haha you poor things:scared1:

I also want to know about the suit. It's adorable! (I assume it's a swim suit anyway.)

Ugh, yes, I was NOT happy to see Matthew again! But at least we weren't on the bus with him because I don't think I could have listened to him complalin the whole ride back, which YOU KNOW, is what he probably did!

I have stuff to do today but I will DEFINITELY scan and post the dolphin pictures soon!!!

I'm so glad you all like my bathing suit!! Another purchase that I bought specifically for the cruise (like most of the things you see me wearing). I bought it from disneyshopping!! But LAST summer.

If I see something I like, I buy it WAY in advance. Last year I bought 2 maternity shirts from disneyshoppinig because they were so cute and I have no immediate plans to get pregnant!!

I'll definitely have to watch it!!

Yeah Angel just doesn't do it for me. Even in Buffy, he's probably my least favorite character. Buffyf and Spike's relationship was WAY more interesting!! I'll give it a shot though.

Yes!:thumbsup2

If you love Buffy - you've got to watch this one! And several other crossovers - Faith, Giles, Andrew, Willow, Wesley - good stuff. It probably isn't quite up there with Buffy - Buffy started it all - but it has some heart wrenching episodes!

Where are those Dolphin kisses???:surfweb:

I'm glad you slept it all off and didn't have a hangover -- that wouldn't be fun. Matthew seems like a complete twit -- kids like that drive me crazy. I love kids, but not kids like that. I love your bathing suit -- it's so cute! LOL about the maternity shirts you bought -- I do the same thing (well, not maternity clothes since I'm apparently done having kids) -- I can't pass up a great deal and I'm always shopping ahead. :-) I love your updates...and have to say that I'm surprised at how bad the food was on the cruise. The pictures of the food alone are enough to make me never go on a cruise!

(on the swimsuit)

I'm not sure but from the picture it looks like it may be a one piece? I just thought I'd let your readers know (if you don't mind a mini-hijack) that it's on clearance at www.disneyoutlet.com right now, in blue and red, only certain sizes! :)

Hmm, just checked it out. That's actually not the same one...but it is cute!

Add me to the list of bathing suit lovers!:goodvibes I think I actually spotted that on Disneyshopping as well last year. But I am always hesitant to buy swimsuits online. Looks like a great suit though, and absolutely perfect for the cruise!;)

Remind me...is it a 1 piece, tankini or bikini. I think I saw similar designs last year in both the 1 piece and tankini.

If I see something I like, I buy it WAY in advance. Last year I bought 2 maternity shirts from disneyshoppinig because they were so cute and I have no immediate plans to get pregnant!!

I am *completely* like this as well. I purchased a couple baby outfits I adored a couple years before I even became pregnant!:rotfl:

And when I find the *perfect* pair of pants, shoes, dress, ect....well, I buy a couple at a time, sometimes in various colors. And if anything my regrets always tend to be not buying enough as opposed to overbuying!;)

.......it's quite interesting to note that on my Adventures by Disney trip (coming up in 15 days! YYEEA) Ben Franklin had a word for people who "partaked in a little too much adult beverage intaking" and that is to refer them as being in a state of nimtipsicallness (hope I spelled that right).
Anywho, makes me wonder if the word "tipsy" evolved from that word as I will be doing something similiar to your tequilla tasting (during this trip on my pre-day) but it's called the "Tipplers' Tour" (you go to 4 colonial taverns - learn colonial customs, toasts, tankard songs & such while nibbling on snacks). popcorn:: .

I hear ya about the DCL food . Per se, sometimes it's just a hit or a miss.

Wonderful trip report & lovin the pics & the suggestions (esp "Beaches & Creame"....hope I said that right).

Really sorry you're not having the best of times. Have to say I am a little nervous of our 7 night cruise, firstly for sea sickness and secondly because i'm more of a get and do stuff type of person. " sea days don't excite me at all. But still looking forward to it, we've been on the Wonder several times and always loved it. I guess cruising isn't for everyone and there is nothing wrong with that. Hope things pick up.

Waiting for more updates popcorn::

Although I love to cruise I do completely understand your feelings towards it and it not being all that. I really do. We had all those same feelings on our 1st cruise.
We cruise for a different type of vacation than WDW. So we do WDW and a cruise when we can afford it.

For those with upcoming cruises...hang in there....and figure out what would make it fun for you.

cruise things/ideas we enjoy:

hot breakfast on our balcony looking at the ocean every day:cloud9: We would hand our tag out and voila we wake up and breakfast is on its way. and Royal Carib has hot breakfast. so srambled eggs and bacon for me. yumm. with a beautiful ocean view. great way to start any day.

sitting on our balcony enjoying the view. We have seen dolphins, flying fish, and a SHARK once. it was a black tip and sooooo awesome. always look around the seaweed patches floating in the ocean...we saw the shark circling the seaweed like he though it was food.

sitting at the pool reading my new book and knowing that I don't have to do anythign but relax and eat lunch.

lunch at Johnny Rockets (on royal caribbean ships)

playing cards with my Sister and her hubby and just visiting

getting snacks in the afternoon at the Promenade (royal caribb)

I loved reading the port planner for each stop making plans of where we would shop that day (for jewelry of course:love:)

and really we loved dinner every night in the dining room and specialty restaurants. we loved having the same waiter...the waiter/side waiter really can make your night a lot more fun and ours were fantastic. We love that they remember the little details of what you like and bring them each night. loved that.

I know that all doesn't sound energetic...but the whole point for US is to relax from our daily stress filled lives. and enjoy our time with family and just enjoy the ocean view and realize life is good.

oh...I want to book acruise soooo bad...I am obsessed with the Oasis of the Seas....I can dream:wizard:

Yes, the Oasis sounds awesome! Was hoping to go along with my family in April but the school that I teach at has a different schedule than everyone else! Bummer!! My cousin just went out to Florida to rehearse for the shows on the Oasis. He is doing Hairspray and a Cirque de Soile show. Would have been awesome to see him!
