Wdw Confessionals!!

I was looking through some old pics we have from our last trip and I realized we commited ANOTHER Disney sin.

On the last trip, DH made the EXTREMELY bad decision NOT to stay on property. And we didn't have a car..we'd taken the Mears shuttle to our hotel and from there, there was a twice daily shuttle from the hotel to the parks. We would go to one park in the morning and if we wanted to go somewhere else, we hopped a resort bus to whatever place we wanted to go to. I always felt bad about doing it, but DH was like.."Nobody's going to notice and/or care."

TOV

I have some bad ones but here goes

* I have taken soaps and shampoos
* I have taken towels from the pool area
* We never have reused mugs but plan to on our next trip.

Now the big ones:
Please forgive me
* In Aug '05 I was turning in my AP Certificate at Epcot. My DS (3 at the time) was sleeping in the stroller. So we go to pass through and I did not give the CM his ticket. They never asked his age. I just wanted to see if I could get away with it. So we did all week.

* I also told the CMs at 2 buffets he was 2, but in my defense they had just lowered the age to 9 and I had two 11 yo with me. I was mad paying almost $27 for a buffet for a child.

On my most recent trip this past January, my mom and a college friend of hers and I stayed in a room @ POR for one night before moving over to BC and we only claimed 2 people in the room. I slept on the floor, and after a sleepless, infuriating night tossing and turning from the floor digging into my shoulders, hipbones, etc., imagine my anger when I rolled over in the morning and discovered a trundle bed under the bed I'd been sleeping next to. I figured it must've been God's or Mickey's or somebody's ironic way of getting even with me for being dishonest. :lmao:

Ummmm.... not really

My DM and i have this different set of morality....

She uses a friend's address to claim she's a FL resident and actually has a non-driving ID card for Disney discounts. (i for one would be mortified)
She somehow got Delaware Plates for all her cars because DL residents pay no tax and have 7 yr registration.
She's been off of work on disability (now is on SSI) for work injury (her back) because she claims she can't work but somehow manages to travel around the country half of the year going to these rondevous black powder camping events and has never seriously tried to rehabilitate herself.
She is only 55 but because she has an AARP card, she asks for and expects senior citizens discounts. (Come on now...)

Once she was mad at us because I wouldn't claim home business and stuff on my taxes to lower what I owed.

and she claims it's cheaper for her to travel than it is to stay home......

and I wonder why I had to pay my own way through college....

Maybe i'm goofy because just thinking about all this stuff drives my nuts.

Ok but I do have a couple Dis sins that I will own up to.....

* We have all shared one mug during a stay at POFQ.
* We have "borrowed" pool towels to use in our studio at SSR. (but I left them in the room when we left.)
* We used our DVC valet parking at WL to go get on the boat to the MK.
* We ate lunch at a Panera before going to the villas and we got condiment packets and butter from them for our fridge.
*I've ordered the extra bun...more than once...
*Have made a side salad from the toppings bar.
*Parked at the Poly and took Monorail to MK.
* I've packed the soap so that mousekeeping leaves more.
* When we purchased DVC we went back to ask more info and got more snacks and then asked if they could get us a ride to the BC because it had started pouring outside and we were going there for dinner.
*I might have forgotten to cancel a few PS's over the past 5 years.
* I exchanged a disney poncho after one seam ripped (the CM at the shop said we could do it after i asked if they had any duct tape to fix it.)
* One evening the regular line was long at the "Land" ride and the new CM at the line said here go throught the fast pass line. Up front they questioned us but when we told them that the other guy let us do it, she let us go on.
* We used our FP's 15 minutes late one night because dinner ran long.
* I booked mid-size suv and took a trailblazer (Alamo agent said we could though) and I plan to do it again next trip.
* We're buying DDP for my 2 yr old nephew and plan to use two of his credits for an adult signature meal. (the rest will be for him though at TS that are not buffet and for CS and snacks. He loves his mickey bars.)
* I've asked for cups of ice water in the parks.

(on DCL)
*We've brought our own drinks on board. (I like coolers and they just don't serve them)
*talked Maitre'D into getting us chocolate souffles from Palo in our regular dinner room.
*Have gone to Cable Beach as a "free" shore tour and used the pool at the Wyndham and took room service sandwiches and chips from the ship as our lunch. (we did buy drinks though.)
* Didn't realize that we were supposed to tip at Palo. (the first time we ever went there. A couple years before i found the DIS.)

Oooh i feel so much better now......

and one more
* I have taken my DD out of school for 7 days during 95-96 school yr for disney trips. 5 in dec, 2 this week. Next year it will be 6-7 for the DCL double Dip in Dec.

WOW!!!! You must feel a lot lighter now..... :rotfl2:

I have saved chairs while my family goes and gets the food.
I also have sent them on the ride line while I run to the next ride to pick up some fast passes, Then cut back in the line with them. Forgive me Mickey for I have sinned! :teeth:

I must confess that I also love the soaps and shampoos from WDW. I have quite a few saved up that I like to use when guests come to stay over. DH is sooo embarassed by my toiletries snatching habit  .

GraysMom

My 7 yr old niece lectured me when she saw I had some.

It's so much fun reading these, and I haven't made it through all 12 pages yet!

We're pretty boring - haven't done much sinning at WDW. What we HAVE done:

- we made 2 trips to WDW in 2005; bought refillable mugs in June and re-used them in December.

- towel animal theft :guilty: To be fair, there was a thread on here before our June trip where it was debated whether or not guests were permitted to take the towel animals home. DS asked our maid if we could take them home, and she told him yes. Now I find out we're not supposed to.......

- our DS's used to not have big appetites, so they ordered off the kids' menu (and were charged kids' prices) even though they were over 9 or 11 or whatever the age limit is.

I always take the soaps and shampoos if I haven't used them (from all hotels) :rotfl: I always thought that everyone did that!

First, my minor sins..
I horde soaps and shampoos

Now, the major...
I took DS out of school for a trip to WDW. The kicker? He wasn't coming with us! I took him out for a couple of days to stay at Grandma's house while me and DH went to WDW!

Is there forgiveness for a sin this big?

:rotfl: Oooohhh, so not only did you take your child out of school but you went WITHOUT him?????? Oh, them's fightin' words for many on this board! (Not me though, I am going w/o my kids in Sept! )

My sins--I inadvertently took my son in without a ticket. I know that sounds really stupid and it was. We had been on two trips with our APs before DS turned 3, then we took a quick one before they expired but he was 3 then. I totally spaced and just put him and his little brother in the stroller and walked on in. DD had her AP and DH and I had ours and I didn't give it a second thought. Three DAYS into the trip, I looked at him and went "Oh crap. You are three now!" Well, we were leaving the next day and no I didn't get the ticket for that last admission.

Yep, that is a biggie! And I do intend to use a refillable mug that was previously purchased on my next trip. Oh, yeah--someone else purchased it and I am borrowing it. I am going to Disney Hell for sure. pirate:

Ok, I have been debating whether or not to post my DH's sin to the DIS. One night in MK we watched Spectro right infront of the castle. AS the parade ended we were blocked in and couldn't get out because Wishes was to follow shortly. DS' diaper was busting at the seams. He was very wet. So my Dh changed him right there for all to see. I was horrified, I still am to this day. But atleast he put the wet diaper in the diaper bag.

We also shared mugs with our kids. Is it wrong for DH just to stand at the fountain and fill his mug them dump his mug into another cup? :goodvibes

I was quoted a price for my package and gave my Discover card number to the AAA agent. When I got the bill from Discover, the charge to WDW(not AAA) was $300 less than what all my paperwork said. I did not call about the mix-up, but boy was I nervous that I would arrive and something would be wrong( not enough nights, not enough tickets). Nothing happened, the package was as it should be and I plan on using the $300 for my next trip!

Once, even though we were staying at Pop Century for $49 a night, after eating at the Kona cafe we stepped foot on and besmirched the pristine sand of the Poly beach to watch the electrical water parade.

In my defense, I was too looped on that rummy drink that comes in a pineapple to see the sign forbidding us from using the Poly beach, but luckily somone from the resort board was later able to post a picture of the sign so that I learned the error of my ways.

Please forgive me...

I always re-use my mugs.....AND my 3 year old will be 2 years 11 months this trip. ;) :teeth:

:sad2: No, no! Those 2 will go with me to the grave. I've been around here long enough to know that 1 1/2 years from now, someone would throw them in my face! :lmao: Lots of fun on this thread but there are people put there charting all of these sins for future use, you know!!

I am living with that fear and it is taking all that I have not to edit my prev. post!!

I am also wondering if anyone has the guts to admit to claiming extra guests who are not really there during free dining.......... :rolleyes1

(I am not doing that. I sure don't want to buy an extra ticket!)

Now I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you! As if the cost of a one-day child's pass would be worth a whole week of dining. Nope, I don't think anyone would do that. :smickey:

No, I don't have other sins to confess, for the moment... Sure I'll think of some more.

Oh, I have one more, but it's not really Disney-realted... or maybe it is..
In 2002, I went 4 days to DL and bought way too many souvenirs. Especially large collectibles in those huge boxes that don't fit in a suitcase. I used my wonderbra-in-combination-with-a-lowcut-top to get away with it at the airport. But I also waited to get that one male employee at check-in!!!!!

Now, I have asked before I went to WDW, and it's NOT a sin to use WDW-transportation (incl. resort-monorail) when you are staying offsite. Although mickey doesn't put your hotel-money in his pockets, he will still try to get your money at resort restaurants/ shops/ etc!

Next to that, all hotel prices include a mark-up for the toiletries and/ or towels and/ or other things that people take with them. So, basically, you do pay for it, so why not take it with you? They basically expect you to take the soaps with you! (supermarkets, btw, add a mark-up for products broken and stolen. No, it doesn't give you the right to steal it, but you don't have to feel that bad if you break something!)
I, for example, use my own soap, shampoo, etc at the hotel, and bring back the ones I get (if it are fancy ones!) In case I didn't bring my own, I would have used the hotel's, so in the end, the resul is the same.

Let my older brother stay one night in our room at the Contemporary, when he caught an earlier than expected flight. He got the daybed......
When my parents, who drove, arrived later that night a day earlier than expected I did say no to my mom, who thought it would be okay for them to squeeze into our room.

Pretended not to notice when my mom put a plate full of goodies in to her bag when we did the Magical Fireworks Voyage. We were appalled, but worse would have been drawing attention to it by our reactions. She felt it was paid for, so why not?

On a ten day trip, continued using our mug at the CR after we had checked out and into BCV. Used the mug whenever we went boating at the CR.

Let both kids wear their birthday buttons every day during a ten day trip. We were celebrating both their birthdays and thought "Why not?" How often are you at WDW for your birthday??

DS walked out with one of the bandanna napkins from Whispering Canyon Cafe and I didn't notice until later. He was wearing it around his head....

I am sure there are many others that will come to mind!

Ok...I don't understand this one at all. We've never done the dining package, so can someone explain this to me?
