WDW Commando Club

I'm healing but it's going to take another couple of months before I'm fully recovered. DS10 started physio today with me, so he's going to start the healing process from the crash. He really enjoyed the water walking (although I had to constantly remind him it's water walking, not water running :lmao:). Have a great day everyone!!

So I tell my tale of Cyberhacking, so that others are aware of what can happen if you let your guard down for one split second when it comes to online and personal info security. I'm extremely cautious, and I still managed to get hit 2 times in the last 3 months, one with a CC being skimmed, now this Cyberattack by hackers. Just be very cautious out there, and don't open any file that you suspect might be suspicious. My CC has blocked all online purchases as a precaution until I give them permission to lock down the account and reissue me a new card with a new number. What a royal mess. I felt the new user name for me was appropriate as with all the stuff I'm going with this year, it feels like a fresh start and new beginnings.

I am so sorry to hear you got hijacked. I know it is a lot of work to get all of it cleared up. Hang in there.

Well I've lost control of my Webshots account and the hacker has gained full access to it. I'm completely locked out of it, which royally ticks me off. I guess it was their parting shot after I closed my email account. I've tried at least 3 times over the past couple of days for Webshots to do something about it, and they've done nothing. I didn't have more than 20 pics in there, as I didn't feel comfortable with posting pics online. So does anyone know of a safe place to put my pics online??? Open to suggestions at the moment. I've emailed them to close the account, but since they did nothing about the getting hacked issue, I doubt they'll do anything about it. If they don't I'm going to have to attempt to find a phone number for them and give them a piece of my mind over this.

I use photobucket for my photos, but they are just connected to an email account as well. I think you might be able to have a secondary email account with them so you can retrieve your pictures if something happened to the other one.

Thanks for the info Norm, I'll look into it. I think when I closed the hacked email account, it locked both me and the hacker out of the Webshots account (at least I hope so). Without a valid email attached to the account I think it automatically locked down on it's own. If that's the case I hope that the hacker can't get access either. If this indeed the case, while it bites that I've been locked out of my pics, I take comfort in the fact that they can't get access either. I'm in no rush to open another online photo account, but I know that I'm going to have to in the coming months. I promised the person that runs the DL Christmas thread a trip report heavily loaded with pics from Knotts Berry Farm, and I intend to honor that promise. To do so I'm going to have to open another online pics account sometime before my trip.

I hope you can retrieve all your pics, I must say after all the stuff that has happened you always pick yourself up quickly and try to resolve the situation, this is true Commando attitude:thumbsup2

Looking ahead a couple years, finally in 2015 both my son and wife should be off from school at the same time for Easter vacation, I've always wanted to go at that time so this could be my chance:goodvibes

The pics that I uploaded into Webshots are gone, as is the account. They finally got a hold of me telling me to change the password. After a couple of attempts I gave up and emailed them to close the account. So I'm on the hunt for another place to upload my pics into. I will admit that I did a rare thing when I discovered the Cyberhacking, I did panic briefly, then set to work on locking everything down online. When you've been through ID theft a couple of times, you get to know what steps to take to resolve it. And Cyberhacking the steps are the same in that you put alerts up everywhere, then lock down as much stuff, change email addresses etc to avoid any further raids. The Easter 2015 trip sounds like alot of fun, especially since you've been wanting to go during that time. Have a great day!!

Cool! Should be a fun time to go there! And it will probably be during Epcot's Flower & Garden festival which seems really beautiful!

Except for Christmas and Halloween, I have never seen any other festivals/holidays in WDW! And my october trip in 2000 didn't even coincide with the Food & Wine festival (at least I didn't remember any booths besides those of the Millenium Village as part of the millenium celebration).

I need to find a way to visit during both F&G and F&W (with MNSSHP)!
And to squeeze a visit during Star Wars weekends as well! :darth: (less likely, because as much as I love SW, I hate hot weather and to leave Brazil in late fall/early winter for the really hot Floridian early summer would be tough!)

I hate not having any Disney trips to plan in the foreseeable future! :sad2: I'm loving planning my Honeymoon in South Africa though! :bride::groom:

Wow South Africa, are you doing a safari:confused3, now is South Africa closer then WDW from where you live:confused3. If you go to the cape be sure if you see any penguins to take pics, I know some people who think they live in Canada:lmao: Truth is penguins live closer to you in Brazil then Canada, when is your big day:confused3

So it seems DTD is getting a face lift starting soon and going till 2016, adding a bunch of new stores, giant parking garage (seems like a lot of the parking area is going to be built up:confused3) and the thing I'm looking most forward to is new restaurants:thumbsup2, I do enjoy my time at DTD but most of the stores is like going to the stores in the parks, I hope they add some interesting stores but don't make it like a outlet mall, looking at the plans it looks like it will be really neat when it's done, now let's see who moves in:rolleyes1

We're getting married in September 5th and leave for a 12-day trip to South Africa. We'll do both some days near the Kruger Park for safaris and the rest in Cape Town to see, among other things, penguins, whales and sharks.

Actually South Africa is a little bit further away than WDW. If you consider the first flight from Sao Paulo in both these trips (our WDW in January and the Honeymoon in September) we have a flight to Miami with 4070 miles and a flight to Johannesburg with 4626 miles. Cape Town is actually a little bit closer than Miami (about 3900) but there aren't any non-stop flights from Sao Paulo to Cape Town!

Some people really thing that polar animals live in both poles, but Penguins live only in the south (Antarctica, south of Argentina, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa, except for the Galapagos penguins who live in the Equator!) while Polar Bears and Reindeer live only in the north (Alaska, Canada, Greenland and northern Europe).

DTD is one of our favorite parts of WDW, we love the atmosphere, the stores (LEGO!), the snacks (Ghirardelli!!!) and the restaurants (specially Wolfgang Puck Express in Marketplace, we read about it here in the DISboards as a great restaurant to use QS/CS credits of the DDP and we went there, 3 times, in our January trip! :thumbsup2).

We also love DisneyQuest! I wish they do a good refurb of DisneyQuest during the making of Disney Springs, maybe substituting some outdated attractions, but please keep the great Pirates of the Caribbean, the awesome arcade zones with classical games that you usually don't find anywhere else!
We haven't had the chance to try Splitsville (I was the only one in mood for bowling! :sad2:), but it sure looks fun and worthy of being in DTD!

I haven't had a chance to eat at all the current restaurants at DTD, although I've been to most of them. I agree with the outlet mall descriptor. I like DTD on the market place side. Yes, there is the BIG World of Disney store, but then there are the different restaurants, pin traders, water area, carousel, and the boat launch. I don't like that walk over to the West side from Characters in Flight where everything looks the same. I know the stores inside are different and you are walking outside, but it as that mall feel to it. Seeing all the different restaurants on the West side boat view is really cool.

Early Congratulations on your wedding and trip. Sounds like a great trip.

This will be the ultimate test of the Commando. This year would have been our first time during Easter, and I am glad we missed it. The parks were all projected at 8,9,10, & recommended leaving the park in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. You know my strategy - RD to close - can't leave park. Good luck. Our plan is to go on the Dream that year at the end of July, and am maybe go to HHI Resort for Easter. We do like the Flower Festival and go during April, just not during Easter week.

Welcome All Commando's to The Commando Planning & Strategies Club - To Infinity And Beyond!

This originally started out as a thread looking for other Commando's, I was overwelmed to find out how many of us are out there, Figured a club was in order!

I'm sure most of us on other threads at sometime felt like outcasts for planning a full agenda & have been critized negatively, That is not the case here! Fellow Commando's can help each other to fulfill their plans, instead of putting what you would like to do down!

If you are mild or extreme, or even a beginner, This is a place where you can kick off your boots and relax while planning your trip, share Commando adventures & strategies, but most of all have some fun doing what you enjoy!

Add Brerdawg to the Commando team!

:welcome: You are member #229:cool1:, Your next trip is a Great time of year, lots of stuff going on, and those like yourself who tour Commando instead of textbook touring like most do will most likely be most triumphant::yes::

This will be the ultimate test of the Commando. This year would have been our first time during Easter, and I am glad we missed it. I am not afraid (well maybe a little about the rabbit it's got really big teeth:lmao:) I don't worry about crowd levels, I don't even check on them, it's something you can't control, if you lay out a good plan and be flexible to change it at any given time, for example at RD it is wise to do A,B,C since it's not busy but after that when most will do D,E & F I might do H,I & J on the list then hit X,Y & Z and backtrack later on or hit those rides on a EMH at night, I'll be the 1st one to say if you follow they crowd your going to get frustrated and loose a lot of time, if you think out of the box and go against the grain and take the path less taken you can knock a lot off the list and beat the crowd, everything you skip you hit later when everyone already did it and the lines are shorter or use FP:thumbsup2

Your future wife is a lucky women to have a guy that likes to travel and is willing to go places:thumbsup2

So I got to know How did the Commando Club's advice pan out for you:confused3, I know that everything will not happen every time or sometimes goes outdated since they are always changing, but to strengthen our group do we need to improve in any areas, I feel I would not be a good leader if we need some improvement in a certain area and never ask or try to improve something for the good of the club:thumbsup2. So basically I guess the question here as a club How are we doing:confused3
