WDW Commando Club

LOL. I hope you get it.

It sounds like alot of fun Ron. I hope you get the sticker!!:woohoo:

Behold yet something else that would most likely be found on a Commando's list:rolleyes1, For myself trying to get the I Was That Guy sticker is just kickin things up a notch, going for that extra memory & something that most people's scrapbooks would be missing:confused3

I Guess it's a Commando thing:confused3

It seems like at least 3 supermarket chains in my area are offering $10 off next purchase with a purchase of $50 of Gift Cards:woohoo:

I'm going to load up on Disney Cards figure if I get $500 worth during the week that comes to $100 free food:banana:

So check your supermarket flyers to see if your supermarket is also doing this:thumbsup2

Looking at next weeks flyers they are running the deal next week also, gives me a chance to pick up some GC's for the 2nd trip:thumbsup2

Up here in the Great Wet North (unseasonably cool June here), the grocery stores don't carry them. The only place I can get Disney gift cards is the Disney Store in Metrotown (a mall in Burnaby), a 25 mins drive from here.

MMMM I guess this is a area offer, Since I know all the stores that are doing it have stores in other states:confused3, But the deal is if you buy $50 worth of any Gift Cards except that stores own card in 1 transaction you get a coupon for $10 off next shopping order, looking at the coupon it says Compliments of iTunes:goodvibes

Target has something like that here. We have debated the options.

But sometimes, is it really worth it? For example, the 10 day no expiration ticket from UT (thru Mousesavers) is the the "best value" for us. And, with our travel plans of parks every other day, we could get three or maybe even stretch it to four trips with the help of some MNSSHP tickets. I think it was around $2K for the four of us. And, if we could get 4 trips out of it, that would be $500 per trip, and avoid two sets of price increases. But, that would also be dropping all that money in advance.

The gift cards are not a bad idea, but then I'd have to carry the cards, receipt, and worry about it not working when we got there or I would forget the card, for me, that worry isn't worth the $10.

With Target coming up our way (they bought out the Zellers chain of dept stores up here) by the end of the year, there's a chance I'll eventually find them there, if Target decides to carry them.

The last couple weeks have got to be the slowest for any kind of new info about anything WDW, I got a feeling this should break soon since there are a few things that were to be done sometime in June:confused3

If anybody can come up with something WDW Commando we can discuss let's have a go at it:thumbsup2

This is going to sound crazy, but the heat has never really been a main factor for us :confused3, all the main things we already hit in the AM, so when the heat index is at it's worst between 1-5pm, we will hit mostly inside shows or all those long presentation rides that are inside, we also always have early ADR's so we are in travel to get to a 5pm ADR that is not in the park we are at in the AM.

If you stay on the move your not as hot as if you are standing on a outside line or sitting on a bench somewhere, it's like getting tired, your not tired till you stop and rest, then it all sneaks up on you:rolleyes1, a nice iced drink in your hand always helps on a hot summer day:thumbsup2

The summer rain is what you have to watch out for:eek:

This is IMO there are better parks then others to get caught up in the rain in:confused3

Worst Park IMO is Epcot everything in the WS is too far apart in the rain not to get soaked, last year we had a ADR at Teppen Edo, we were at TT when it started raining and it was coming down, Boats were not running and no matter how you do it, it's a real long way to get to Japan from TT, no matter how much rain gear you have your getting soaked:scared1:

AK is also not high on my list of down pours, things are spaced pretty far apart:rolleyes1

Best in a downpour is MK:thumbsup2, buildings are close so even if you have to go store to store to get where you want to go it's not that bad since everything is pretty close to something, also HS is workable in the rain, you can run to something even if it's a store pretty quick:yay:

Just got back from VA but put I can answer this question since it was 95+ for 3 days and of course got heavy rain for half a day, I'm going to bed now since it's late but I'll post my insight on this even though it was in other theme parks :confused3

Hi Everyone! :wave2: Soooooo.....who's planning on a Cali trip to go to Carsland?? It looks awesome! I can't even plan ANY trip yet, but now I'm contemplating DL/DCA instead of WDW...or some craziness of some sort. :worship:

I am planning one for 2020 or 2025. That will be our 20th or 25th wedding anniversary. I would like to do 4 days at DL & 4 days at Aulani. If we can go in June of 2020, then we can early celebrate our anniversary, celebrate oldest graduating from HS, and youngest's birthday. If I am going to spend that much, gotta get some value.

One of the DISDad's just got back...

He posted a bunch of pics on our other sight.

Our plans are for WDW in Aug/2015 (dates to be decided by DH, who's going to find out when the vintage truck shows are on in Maryland or Virginia), followed by DL in Christmas or sometime late fall 2016. Am actively job hunting, but all jobs locally have been filled by college students till late Aug. Do have a lead on a job that may come into fruition in the coming weeks hopefully though. May throw out some more resume's this week, and see what happens. Did pick up a couple of the Unofficial guides to WDW, and found some interesting info on them. Loved their sense of humor as well.
