WDW Attractions for the ride phobic, staunchly (think Footloose) religious?

At MK Winnie the Pooh, Jungle Cruise, Peoplemover, Speedway, Dumbo, Mickeys philharmagic, tiki room, Peter Pan maybe (this is elevated), laugh floor

At AK Safari, And the shows here

At Epcot Nemo, living with the land, figment, spaceship earth, Ellen's energy adventure (Dinos ok?), Mexico boat ride

HS do the shows, TSM maybe, muppet vision

Hopefully that will give you a fair amount to do, maybe she will warm up to stuff once you get there!

This looks like a great starter list for you.

At MK I would add the people mover (TTA), its fun for everybody and pretty mild thrill wise, but gives a view inside space mountain which kids that might not want to brave the coaster can at least then see. It does also give a glimpse into Buzz lightyear though, if those toy aliens are a problem. if they are not a problem also do that ride, the kids will love it (definitely no chest popping going on).

Also at MK don't forget the train around the park is a ride too.

Here are some things I thought of:

MK
-Main Street trolley show/dapper dans
-MK railroad
-CoP
-Peoplemover
-Dumbo, if the height issue won't bother her
-Pooh
-ETwB
-Little Mermaid
-Carousel
-Small World
-Liberty Belle riverboat
-Tom Sawyer island
-Hall of Presidents
-Jungle Cruise
-Swiss Family Robinson treehouse

Epcot
-SSE
-Living With the Land
-Soarin' (which is a maybe, as you have said)
-M:S on green, if she is not claustrophobic
-Club Cool
-Many things in Innoventions
-Haven't been on Journey into Imagination in over 10 years, so not sure about this one
-Gran Fiesta Tour (with possible exception of the Day of the Dead celebration, right at the beginning)
-Films in Canada, France, and China
-The American Adventure
-Many things to see just walking around around WS

DHS
-TSM
-VotLM
-Beauty and the Beast show
-One Man's Dream
-Animator's studio
-Backlot Tour
-LMM stunt show
-MuppetVision 3D

AK
-Finding Nemo
-Safari
-Flights of Wonder
-Animal trails
-TriceraTop Spin - like Dumbo, so again, if height won't bother her
-Train to Rafiki's Planet Watch
-Affection Section

There's all the parades and fireworks shows, as well. Of course, there is no guaranteeing she won't have a problem with something in these attractions. If her aversion to witches, ghosts, and aliens extends to all things magical and fantastical, that will rule out a lot. But I think you'll find there's more for you to enjoy together than you think :) And may I suggest that you take a deep breath, focus on the positive, and try to respect your wife's sensitive conscience? It will be a long, exasperating vacation otherwise. You can still have a great time just walking around and enjoying the atmosphere even if you don't get to ride a single thing.

Nice, thanks!

Spinning rides are non grata for ALL of us.. We all get dizzy, naseous..

It will be a long, exasperating vacation otherwise

My plan is to ask what is no-go from the start in each park, get it out of the way.. I'll do the utubing of the rides with everyone, explain what's going to happen in Fantasmic (sounding like a no already.. Dragons, sorcerers Oh My!)..

But I'm also going to try and lay off the eye rolling and sulking.. I agree that will make for a miserable trip..

Would it be mean to suggest you leave your wife at the resort and have a nice time going on all the attractions with your kids?

The Little Mermaid ride should probably be avoided. It shows Ursula looking into a crystal ball and then of course, she casts a spell. Plus, she's a sea witch.

ETA: And in Enchanted Tales with Belle, you're magically teleported back in time through a magic porthole. I'd think that's too much magic.

In fact...I'm not sure how your wife could stand to go to the MAGIC Kingdom at all. Or really, WDW in general, since it is the most MAGICAL place on earth.

You do it! LOL

But I'm going to start a thread asking about spa packages, and just put it out there (depending on how much they want.. I'm thinking big $$$).

I'm thinking none of us would enjoy this one.. :)

The new spa at the Grand Floridian opens on December 17th. :)

Regardless of what my personal feelings are about your wife's attitude, I think it is sweet and thoughtful you're trying to find ways to involve her and find things she would like. :thumbsup2

Really? My kids loved it, and so did we, but they're little and love mermaids, so...

Sorry, should have reiterated that my boys are 9 and 12, and thankfully not that into mermaids.. :)

I'll call and enquire.. Hopefully the prices won't be too outrageous..

I am very scared of heights and hate roller coasters. The first time we went to Disney my husband was upset that I was going to take all the fun out of the trip. We learned quickly how many thing there are that we enjoyed together. There are a handful of rides in each park he wants to go on that I just can't. We bring our cell phone to keep in contact. While he is in line I get to go in the shops and look around without him being board and rushing me. I do like on some ride to stand by the screen where his fast pass photo come up and see him enjoying himself. It also makes me happy.
Even with my fears I do love Splash Mountain, Kali River Ride and Soaring. On soaring I remind myself I am not far from the ground.
As worried as you are I can tell you from personal experience you wife is just as upset and wishes she did not have these fears. She doesn't want to be left out but fears are hard to over come.
I am sure you will have a great time. With us the stress befor our first trip could have ruined the vacation befor it started if we had let it. Believe me you will find plenty of thing you can enjoy together.

We bring our cell phone to keep in contact.

This sounds like a good idea.. I'll have to figure out how to make a cell phone work in the US (I'm from Canada).

Is there anywhere inside the Park where you can get cheap prepaid phones? (we're not renting a car)

I'm even getting flak for suggesting we all go on Pirates of the Carribean.. Something about how they're bad role models, murderous thieves.

I've actually talked about this with my family before. Why, exactly, are pirates being romanticized? I'm sure people who've been attacked by Somali pirates don't find it cute.

I'll go on the ride, and enjoy myself, but really, think about it for a minute.
