WDW and Universal. Who wins?

I'm thinking you're opting to miss the point.

What you're mentioning above is Disney saying they are redoing the front of Epcot to FIT their IPs they want in there. That's the complete opposite of the past and a slap in the face of what the parks actually are. And you side-stepped the "re-using" part, when it came to Universal you're all on them but choosing to ignore when Disney is doing this.
IP has always been a huge part of Disney parks. I’m not understanding why you think that’s a change at all.

As it happens, I understand healthy criticisms, but there is downright anger towards Disney on these boards. Is this a Disney board or not?

Not trying to be snarky in any way (I know that is hard in written form!) but what is the current theme of HS, if it's not movies?

California Adventure is hilarious when you find out that the park's best land is based off of a location in Arizona, not California.
AND when you find out the inspiration for Cars came from a little town in Kansas :goodvibes

You can see the town by the way on Route 66 which has put in Cars theming next to the inspiration of Mater

Okay, so for those not keeping track at home: Cars is inspired by locations in Arizona and Kansas, but not California....in a park called California Adventure.

I would buy all of it if it meant the ride could stop being embarrassing and the interactive area didn't look EXACTLY the same as it was when I was a child.
Yeah the modernizing they’re doing in the Communicore area needs to be extended to the Wonders of Life Pavilion and the Imagination Pavilion. I’m good to move on from the 80s/90s mall vibes.

Ok, but then you all complain about Guardians and the Moana attraction, saying they don’t fit in Epcot. There’s no winning.

I never complained about either attraction and don’t have an issue with where they are placed in EPCOT

If they're going to keep the Imagination pavilion looking like we're back in 1999, they should at least commit to the aesthetic and make some seating area look like a 90's Taco Bell

I'm critical but I hate on them but I can understand it. Some of us want our Disney of 5 years , 10 years ago or more.
Especially us Floridians and AP holders.

We’re also AP holders and DVC owners. What precisely do you want back, other than free FP?

In fairness the Disney World Parks of 10 years ago or more basically went neglected for a decade+.

Your complaints varied from repetition, adding IPs to another park, cohesion and more. All of which I and multiple other posters have given you examples of what occurs at Disney.

It's actually much more than a Disney board. You are on the Disney Rumors and News subforum but there's SeaWorld & Discovery Cove, Universal, Other Lands, Royal Caribbean, and more.

As far as your feelings I'm not seeing anger at Disney for this thread, I'm seeing a pushback on comments aimed at Universal without consideration towards Disney. Even right now most of us Universal park-goers will tell you the Fast and Furious ride is awful. I mean I thought it was corny but in a cheesy good feel way but what a waste of an opportunity, but the moment someone said a complaint against Figment you're like "My 6 year old adores that ride." and yes of course your child may love the ride but arguably it's a waste of an opportunity for a better ride/theme. That doesn't mean someone is hating on Disney anymore than they are hating on Universal for Fast and Furious.

Given that it’s called Disboards, I thought it was primarily for Disney fans, albeit with forums for other parks. Now I get it. You’re a Universal person.

Just going to step in before this gets anymore heated. Sometimes it's ok to agree to disagree and sometimes you can enjoy both Disney and Universal :D
The "Theme Park" war between Universal and Disney should only benefit us guests as each new addition should push the other one to do something new, which we as guests can enjoy. Whether you are just for Disney or just for Universal, there is no denying that the two's "competition" has given us some great new attractions

As I've said multiple times I love Disney every so slightly more than Universal.

But your question was "Is this a Disney board or not?" Sure but it's more than that. People who go to SeaWorld have a place, and Universal as well, so do Royal Caribbean people. There's a UK and Canadian side, there's also ones for Photography enthusiasts, DIY people, Budget board (which goes over a ton of CC information) and more. Please don't be facetious about your question if you weren't looking for the answer.

True. I admit I’m a little more revved up because we’re coming off a magnificent Disney trip, but also 2.5 days at Universal tant were mostly stressful and showed Universal to be, for us, mediocre.

We waited 70 minutes to check into Royal Pacific. Our room was dated. We waited 20-30 minutes for popular attractions, even with Express Pass. Half the HP rides broke down while we were waiting for them.

I also saw 2 Universal employees yell at a group of guests who wanted to return merchandise but didn’t have a receipt. It was by far the worst behavior I’ve seen from customer service people anywhere. The customers said, “we were here yesterday.” The employees said, “we don’t remember you. We see thousands of people. You have to have a receipt. Do you understand? We don’t remember who you are.”

They both have pros and cons. I'll keep going to both and enjoying the benefits ✌️

I do like Disney more overall but Epic Universe appeals to me more than anything the Disney company is cooking up. If Universal removed some of their mediocre screen rides for some S tier experiences like Hagrid's and Velocicoaster then it could be a game changer.
