OK, Here goes!

I have seen so many wonderful trip reports on here, so I'm gonna give it a try!

The players:

DH-Tom-41-The most laid-back person I've ever met-until this trip!

Me-Mary Beth-34-Disney phanatic-or so I thought-until I started reading these boards!

DS-T.J.-12-Most politically correct people would call my child "Spirited"-which he is-and sometimes, a royal pain in the rear!:scared: Also, a very handsome young man! I know in a year's time, my phone will be ringing off the hook with messages like this: "Helllllloooooo, is TEEEEEJAYYYYYY therrrrreeeee???"
All the while hearing Bubblicious gum chewing and cracking in the backround!
UGH! I am NOT looking forward to this at all!!

Let's start at the very beginning--it's a very good place to start! (To quote one of my favorites! The Sound Of Music!)

The ball really started to get rolling on this trip in September, 2006. I had been thinking about taking the trek down south for a while. Well, since my previous trip in 2004, Actually---since the minute I got in the car to leave! What? Doesn't everybody do that?;)

My aunt and her crew (Seven kids--ranging in age from 28 to 8, significant others, and 4 grandchildren--you should see her!!! She looks fantastic!!!)were going to WDW in October. She came over my mom's house for a visit and she gets on the computer to show me where they are staying, what they'll be doing, etc. All of the sudden, I just blurt it out--we're going too!!
I thought my 83-year old grandmother was going to fall out of her chair! My family aren't exactly "Disneyfied". The following are a few things I'd hear from time to time:

"What's the big deal?"
"Aren't you a little old for that stuff?"
It's just a glorified amusement park!"

Just to clarify, these people have never even BEEN there! How can they make such horrible statements!

So now the announcement is made! My son is thrilled! (I'm glad SOMEONE is !)

I decide to invite my best friend to join us. She is a single mother with three children. We went together in 2004 right after my father's death. She was a great comfort to me and I wanted her to come with me then to keep my spirits up. We've known each other since we were babies and our mothers are best friends! We grew up next door to each other in Southwest Philly (if there are any people from Philly reading this, you know what it means to have grown up there.) It turns out that I had to be a comfort to her on that trip. Her boyfriend (also her youngest child's father) was supposed to propose to her on that trip. All of the sudden, 2 DAYS before the trip, he says he met someone else and he didn't feel comfortable going on the trip! SHE paid for all of HIS expenses! What a loser! He decides to go because he felt bad that everything was already paid for! What a guy! Gee, thanks a lot! To this day, he has never given her a dime towards that trip!

So, she says that she'll go and since she has the kids, they will be company for T.J. Good thinking, huh?

We decide to rent a house from ALL STAR Vacation Homes. The prices are pretty reasonable and besides, we could split the cost! I was loving this plan already!

Ok, that's it for now! Today is my son's Confirmation day! Gotta get ready!

Next Up: I Can't Believe You Are Sticking Me!, Flight Delays! My Son's First Plane Ride!!!

I am soooooooo hearing you about .......you are going where??????? WHY for goodness sakes....oh well

Pumba, I have a motto:

If you haven't experienced Disney for yourself, keep your darn mouth shut!

Actually, my mom did go with me on a trip in 1998. All she kept saying the whole time was. "I'd rather be at the Shore!" Meaning the Jersey Shore near Atlantic City. Huh? I like the shore, don't get me wrong. But I've done that scene every year for the past 34 years! Hey, mom, you like to go to Bingo on Wednesday nights, I like the Mouse's House! My mom and me differ on most everything! I don't know how we have the same blood in our veins!

Thanks for reading!

Oh yah.....we leave in 20 days and I can hardly wait.......am I counting......YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT.....

Ok, I don't know if anyone will catch this, but....

I spelled fanatic with a "ph"!:rotfl2:

The name of the Philadelphia Phillies mascot is the Phillie Phanatic!

I can't believe I did that! I am so used to seeing it spelled that way that I thought that was how it was really spelled!:lmao:

I ain't gonna change it!

I like it that way!:lmao:

So I start making all the plans for the trip. ADRs at O'Hana, and Chef Mickey's, what parks we'll go to on what days, etc. My friend was calling me a dictator by the middle of the last trip, but she finally agreed that if it wasn't for the plan that I made, we wouldn't have seen half the stuff we saw.

I wasn't really familiar with the Dining Plan so we decided not to do it. Boy, was that a mistake! Next time we go (May, 2008) we are definitely going to participate in it.

Things are going fine and we are patiently awaiting the big day! I informed my son's teacher way ahead of time. If you can take your kids out of school, I would recommend doing it. The crowds are a lot smaller at the time of year we went. First week of March. The only thing that my son's teacher wanted was a journal of his vacation. He worked on it every night when we got back from whatever it was that we were doing while it was fresh in his mind.

Like I said earlier, my family are Jersey Shore People. At around the end of March, something strange happens to the members of my family. They start the mutation process. Once the temprature in Philadelphia goes above 50 degrees, they turn into sun-worshipping freaks. The topic of any conversation magically turns into Shore Talk. Anyway, there is an organization that my son belongs to called the Artisans. Basically, they are a supplemential insurance company. The Artisans have a gathering in Ocean City, New Jersey every June. My mom really gets hyped up for this. It's only a Friday and Saturday night in Ocean City--not really a big deal to me. But, I like Disney and she doesn't, so I let her go on about it!:sad2: Me, DH, DS, and my mom go with My friend's family every year.(This is the same best friend that is going to WDW with me.) One evening, about 2 1/2 weeks before the full balance for the All Star home is due, my friend's mom comes over for a visit (which she does on a regular basis). We start talking about the Artisan trip and I say I don't think I am going this year because we are going to DW and I can't afford both vacations.(and you KNOW where I'd rather go!!) My friend's mom tells me that my friend and her kids are NOT coming with me to DW!!!! WHAT?!?! She did not inform me of any of this!!!! I was just talking to her on the phone THE DAY BEFORE and we were saying how much fun it was going to be!! Never once was there a hint of her saying she wasn't going!!!!! Plus, I had to hear this from her mom--she didn't even have the guts to tell me herself!!!!!

So, now I'm pissed!!! I was expecting to split expenses with her so it wouldn't be so expensive. I immediately call her up! My blood is boiling at this point! I said, "I can't believe you are sticking me with this gigantic house!!! What the hell am I supposed to do!!"

She said that she really can't afford to go because her tuition payments for her kids are going to double because her daughter is going to be entering high school. (All of our children attend catholic school.)

Y'know, that's fine and all but WHY didn't you tell me this sooner!! I paid a $200.00 non-refundable deposit on this place and if I would have found out like, 3 days later that she wasn't going, they would have automatically debited that balance from my card!!! I would have been out 1,500 bucks!!

I'm glad her mother told me when she did! :scared1:

So, I called All Star Vacation Homes right after I hung up with her, and I was able to cancel the reservation. But, the $200.00 deposit would have to be used for a "future stay". Oh well, that will never happen because I'll never stay off Disney property agian!!!

I'll tell you why later in this TR.

So, after a very quick pow-wow with the DH and DS and looking on the WDW website, we decide we'd like to stay at POFQ.

The bad part of all this is that my son wouldn't have anyone to hang out with!:guilty: EXCEPT HIS LAME PARENTS!

Next up--Flight Delays, My Son's First Plane Ride!!!:wizard:

When we got our income tax return, we went to a travel agent and booked the trip:

March 2-9, 2007
POFQ Standard Room
7-Day Magic Your Way Passes With Park Hopper Option
Disney's Magical Express
AirTran Airways Roundtrip

After we booked the trip, I went into hyper-planning mode. I started planning what parks we would visit on what days(to coincide with Extra Magic Hours), where we were going to eat, what day was going to be our "down day" (aka shopping for souviners), etc. My profession is a wedding singer (No, not an Adam Sandler type, I sing at catholic church ceremonies), so I work on weekends. That makes my weekdays free. So I don't have to tell you what occupied my time!!!:thumbsup2

I started packing for this trip about 3 weeks in advance!!! I'm not nuts, am I?:rolleyes1 I had to drag the summer clothes out of the laundry room and seperate them according to person. It took me about a week just to wash them!!! My family is always complaining that they don't have any clothing!!! That is not the case!!!:rotfl: I managed to pack everything we needed in two large siutcases and two duffle bags. We also had two carry-ons and a small back-pack with my son's electronic equipment (Nintendo DS, portable DVD player, and I-Pod). I also bought ponchos, umbrellas, nice outfits for our dinner at O'hana's, and new make-up for myself! I hardly wear make-up, so the stuff I had was pretty old! I also had to remind myself to pack my contact lenses, saline and Motrin. I am prone to migraine headaches---I never go anywhere without Motrin. Ever!!!

Finally, the day of the trip arrives!!!! I was so excited I could barely sleep all night! DH works night work, so he said it would be good for him and it made the night go by faster. DS went to sleep early. He said he wanted to get plenty of sleep so he'd be ready for the trip. He had school that day so when my husband got home from work, he took DS to school, and went to sleep when he got home.

We were watching the weather reports all week, for Philly and Orlando. The day we were leaving, it was raining, but not that bad. We kept checking the Air Tan website peroidically all day (our flight was scheduled for departure at 7:05 p.m.) and it said the flight was on time. Right before we are about to leave for the airport, it said the flight was delayed until 9:21 p.m. Uh-Oh! The website recommended that you still show up at the airport 2 hours before the scheduled departure of your flight because the flight still had a chance to take off at its scheduled time with little notice. Ok, I'm still relatively calm. I really want to get going, because I am very impatient!:scared: So, we wait around an extra half-hour and then I can't take it anymore!!! Besides, my little nephews came over to see us off and They are soooooo cute!! I wanted to spend a little extra time with them.

Now we get to the airport, and we look on the board and the flight is still delayed until 9:21. Ok, now by this time the sun is shining brightly in Philly. Why was the flight delayed? We check our bags (we printed out our boarding passes on the computer before we left--BIG time saver) and we go up to the gate. The line for security is SOOO long!!! We get closer and closer to security and my darling son--my "spirited" boy-- decides that his electronics are absolutley NOT going through the detectors!!! He was afraid that after they went through, they wouldn't work properly! My DH and I assured him that wouldn't happen, but nothing was going to convince him otherwise. After a lot of threatening (We're going to take you home, throw out the I-Pod, etc.) he FINALLY stopped. He also did not want to take his shoes off for the security check. What is his problem? You see, my son has ADHD. Also, it doesn't help that puberty is starting to kick in. OHHH BOYYY!
It's sooo fun!!!!!

So now we are finally past security and we head up to our gate. We see the sign for our flight---it is now delayed to 10 p.m. C'mon, man!!! After asking numerous times why the flight is delayed yet again, we are told ("we" meaning myself and other frustrated passengers my DH and I met while waiting at the gate)that the flight is currently grounded in Boston. The flight originated in Boston (I already knew this from the website), and there were weather problems there. We decide to get something to eat and buy some magazines to read to pass the time) Now, what are we going to eat? There was a restaurant/bar next to our gate, and my Dh wanted a drink. Airport food is pretty expensive so I asked by husband to do something else. OK, I TOLD HIM!!! I was pretty cranky and we have already been at the airport for a few hours. Also, with my son's mini-meltdown, I was starting to lose it. We wind up eating at Burger King! My Dh is not pleased! He says, "This is my vacation and all I want is a lousy beer!!!" I came back with, "We ain't on the plane yet, the vacation HASN"T started yet!" Ya think I'm a little mad, or what!!! Plus, we are on a very limited budget. I wanted to save the little bit of money we DID have on WDW itself!

So the plane finally arrives and it is time to board! The flight was pretty uneventful, but my DS was scared!!!! There was a tiny bit of turbulance, but not that much. Whenever there was a itty, bitty, bit of something, my son was grabbing on to my arm for dear life! (Actually, it was very sweet that he still wanted his mommy--I know THAT isn't going to happen much anymore!) We sat next to each other on the plane and I let him have the window seat. DH sat across the aisle from us and promptly fell asleep. I guess he was still mad at me!!:headache: DS and I decide we are going to watch "Invincible" on his portable DVD player. Remember my aunt with the 7 kids--her husband has a cameo in the movie. Hysterical! He is about 5'5" tall and he looks like Tom Petty. But, he has the greatest personality ever!!! He always runs into somebody he knows everywhere he goes!! I always say he should run for Mayor Of Philly! The movie takes my son's mind off the flight and we make it to Orlando at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday morning.

Next Up: Disney's Magical Express, POFQ

Great start so far! That stinks about your friend backing out, and you having to find out from her mom. Cannot wait to read more!

I was beginning to think that no one was interested in my TR! Thanks, Beauty!

My friend has a problem with confronting situations that might result in someone being mad at her. It turned out for the better anyway.

Can't wait to hear whta happens next! Totally agree on getting DDP. We love TS and character meals so it's almost like getting a snack and CS free!:cool1:

Thanks for reading, ballarinamom!

The travel agent asked if we wanted the DDP but I didn't know much about it.

Imagine that--ME not knowing something about DW!!!!

Anyway, when we saw what people were eating and how much it costs, I couldn't believe it! I figured there has to be a catch somewhere. Turns out, there isn't!!!

My DH and DS love to eat and my DS is an adventurous eater, too!!

I've already got it figured out for next year!! Jiko is a definite and our traditional visit to O'Hana!

Don't know if we'll do a character breakfast--You'll find out why if you keep reading my TR!!!!

Thanks again!!!

We get off the plane and look for the Disney Magical Express counter. I did not know about this DIS boards until after we came back from our trip. If I did, Temper Tantrum #2 probably would not have occured!!! I was exhausted from the delay at the Philly airport and I didn't get a chance to sleep on the plane because my son was so nervous on the flight and I wanted to be awake for him.

When you recieve your documents for DME in the mail, the brochure tells you to go to Level 1 in the Orlando Airport. But, WHERE on Level 1????? Level 1 was pretty big!!! Dh and I did not see any of those "Mickey Hands" that everyone keeps talking about! Boy, I wish I did because I was really starting to get aggravated!!! DH kept telling me to ask somebody where the counter was. I'm like, "YOU ASK!!! WHY DO I HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING???" So, then I go on a huge tirade about I did all the planning, packing, etc. and he didn't have to do s@#*! He shot right back, "I PAID FOR THIS VACATION!" Mr. Laid Back--the wonderful man I love--never threw anything up to me during our entire 13-year marriage! I was really upset at this point. My DS was actually the calm one! He said, "C'Mon guys, we are here. We'll find the counter. I'll go ask somebody."

So, he proceeds to ask one of the drivers of a shuttle service. He points us in the right direction all the way at the end of Level 1. The only good thing about this was that we didn't have to carry all our luggage with us.

We get up to the counter, and the CM who was waiting on us could tell there was something wrong. He was very nice and understanding of my immature crankiness. We check in without a problem. We are directed to our bus by another very nice CM. It's so cute!! There is a little red carpet that leads you to your designated bus. We get on the bus and wait around for more passengers. About 10 minutes later, we were on our way. Cute video on the bus. It passed the time while we were driving to the resorts. The bus stopped to drop off passengers at GF, (Looks like a gorgeous resort, I would LOVE to stay there some day. Yeah right, like THAT will happen!) There was also a stop at Fort Wilderness Campground. Nicely themed, looked like a great place for those of you who like to go camping. Not for me. I don't like bugs.:scared:

Finally, we arrive at POFQ. I made a half-hearted attempt to soak it all in, but I was just too damn tired!! By this time, it was 2:00 in the morning, and I just wanted to put my head to pillow! The CM at the check-in counter was just too chipper for my taste at that ungodly hour of the morning! She was very helpful and gave us a few brochures just in case we were interested in the Pirate and Princess Party. DS fell asleep on the couch in the lobby. Poor Kid. CM handed us our out KTTW and off to the room we went.

We got in the room and went to bed. I just didn't have the energy to check the room out at that point. I would do all that in a few hours when we would be refreshed and ready to tackle the parks!!!:cheer2:

Next up-- ESPN THE WEEKEND AT MGM

We will be arriving late in Sept. I am affraid this will be us too. I didn't want the boys to miss to much school so are flight is at 7:30 arrive Disney at 11:00. With a 9 and 6 yr old this is going to be way LATE. Did you luggage arrive first thing in the AM ? This is a big concern of mine. Can't wait to read more. :surfweb:

We took a late flight in December and arrived in Orlando after midnight, we had decided to stay off site the first night since it was going to be late. That meant rental car and finding hotel. We had our 4 year old DD and in laws with us. We finally laid down about 2am  ourselves and it make for an exhausting trip! I would suggest if you are going to be late getting to WDW plan your first day to be VERY RESTFUL. (DTD or RESORT!!)

That wasn't the case with us on our trip, we were raring to go, as you'll see if you keep reading my TR!!!

Notice how I keep plugging it!!!!:rotfl2:

Thanks for reading, srandsr76!!!

I forgot to mention this in the TR mas6010,

Remember the very chipper CM at the POFQ counter:

She asked if we wanted our luggage as soon as it arrived, or if we wanted it delivered when we woke up. I chose the latter option because I wanted to get a decent night's sleep. Ya think???

When I woke up, there was a message on our phone to let us know the luggage was there and just call the front desk and they will deliver it at our convenience!

Wasn't that nice?

If the CM does not mention this to you at check-in, make sure YOU mention it. It was nice not to get a bang on the door at 6:00 in the morning!

Hope the info helps!! Thanks again for reading!!:thumbsup2

OK, we get up around 7:30 and I call the front desk and the nice man delivers our luggage. I start to unpack a little and I noticed how nice this hotel room really is. It is a lot more spacious than I thought it would be for a Disney hotel room. I really liked the privacy curtain the divides the bed area from the sink area. It was nice that if someone had to use the facilities in the middle of the night and you turned the light on, no one was disturbed. The decor of the room was very nice and there were Hidden Mickeys in the bedspreads! I start to rouse the troops around 8:00 and we got dressed and walked over to the food court for some breakfast. I NEED COFFEE!!!!:surfweb:

The grounds of POFQ are absolutley beautiful. The landscaping is gorgeous! There are cobblestone streets and iron gates, cute lamposts with funny names on them like "Rue D'Baga and "Cake Walk", beautiful fountains, and lush greenery. While we were there, the groundskeepers were planting new trees and flowers. The attention to detail is fantastic. The best part of this resort is the close proximity to everything from anywhere on the property. We were in building 7 (the farthest building away from everything) and we still only had about a 5 minute walk to the food court, pool, lobby or gift shop.) The pool here is amazing! A lot of fun for kids. My DS loved it!! The dragon slide is made from an old Mardi Gras float. THAT is some Disney trivia I didn't know until I got there! At the back of the resort, there is a lovely walkway along the Sassagoula River that takes you to POFQ's sister resort, Riverside. You can walk there, or take a carriage ride. There are also boats that take you to Riverside and DTD. We took advantage of this twice. Very relaxing! One of the boat captains told us some little known facts about Disney World. That's how I found out about the pool slide.

The food court---this is where the Mardi Gras theme is really showcased. Beads and candy and clown faces hang from the celing. I know people get freaked out by clown faces, but these were more like court jesters. I had heard several times about the signature dessert at POFQ--Beingets!!! Let me tell you, these things were delicious!!! We had them for breakfast with coffee every morning! BEWARE THE ATTACK OF THE POWDERED SUGAR!!! That's all I'm gonna say!:lmao: Otherwise, the food was fine at the food court. Nothing to write home about, just OK. I've seen numerous times on these boards about the coffee at WDW. Everybody says how horrible it is. My DH and I LOVED the coffee!!!!! I don't know if we are just plain cuckoo, or we are just so used to Philadelphia water (aka Schuylkill River Punch) that water everywhere else tasted like heaven! I don't know! We LOVED the coffee! The best part for me was the cool jazz music playing both inside and outside the food court. I wish they sold a CD of that music! Did I mention that we LOVED the coffee????:lmao:

So, were finished breakfast and it's off to MGM Studios for ESPN Weekend!:cheer2: Booking this trip while this event was going on was a complete coincidence. The travel agent told us about it. Now, my DH and DS are football fanatics!! E-A-G-L-E-S----EAGLES!!! DON"T MAKE ME BREAK OUT THE EAGLES FIGHT SONG!!!!! I love the Eagles as much as anybody in the Philly area, but those two are FREAKS!!! So, DS and DH don their very best Eagles finery (McNabb and Westbrook jerseys, caps, and my DS took his Eagles hoodie for good measure--even though it was about 80 degrees out!!!) and off we go! We hop on the bus (BTW, Disney's transportation system is great--I think the longest wait we had for a bus was 10 minutes!) and before we know it, we're there! We get inside the gates, and there is a HUGE stage set up for interviews of athletes and live broadcasts of ESPN programs. Those of you who are familiar with ESPN --when they are on location, the crowds can get pretty big in front of the stage. This was the case when we arrived. DS was getting himself in such a tizzy as we were walking up Hollywood Blvd. that I thought he was going to faint!!! It was so cute to see him so excited about this!!! Very rarely do we get to go to a sporting event in Philly because the ticket prices are so high, so this was HEAVEN for him!!!:cloud9:

ESPN weekend was continuing the next day (Sunday) so I made a suggestion:

"Why don't we do all the park attractions today, and you can do the sports-related activities tommorow? We'll plan on getting here at rope-drop tommorow morning, and we can spend the day seeing the shows and getting autographs and whatever else that's offered---How's that sound?"

Now, I don't know what came over this child--what forces pulled him in the direction of right--but, he actually AGREED to this!!! "OK, Mom, sounds good!"

I was taken aback a little, but I just went with it! We went on all the rides that we could (DS loves RNRC--He and DH went on this 3 times during the course of the trip! I like The Great Movie Ride and Muppet Vision 3D! DH just goes with the flow--Mr. Laid Back, remember?)

So, in my opinion, great first day at the park! Nobody had a hissy-fit, the sun was shining, and we were heading back to the hotel to get ready for the one thing I have been looking forward to since our last trip to DW over 3 years ago---DINNER AT O'HANA!!!!!!

So, by this time we are back at the hotel and we got ready to go to O'Hana at the Polynesian Resort. Like the Pointer Sisters--I'm So Excited!! The menu has changed at O'Hana somewhat since our last visit in 2004, but not that much, IMHO.

Let me back up a bit:

This trip was the first time we've ever used the Disney Transportation System. The last time we stayed on Disney property was in 1998, and we did not make use of the buses because we drove to WDW. So, we just drove to all the parks. This trip, we didn't feel the need to rent a car because we were going to stay at POFQ . We had to take the bus to the MK to get to the Polynesian--that much I knew. However, I foolishly thought that the MK bus only took you as far as the TTC. I figured we would take the bus to the TTC and walk through the parking lot to the Poly. Wrong!!! The bus takes you to the Main Street U.S.A. entrance! I also forgot that you can get to the Polynesian via monorail. I don't know, I was in some kind of fog or something!!!

So now we are running late for the reservation because I didn't plan on the bus going to the Main Street entrance. I shoot out of my seat and ask the bus driver what was the best way to get to the Poly. "Uh, see the GIGANTIC sign to the left that says RESORT MONORAIL? LOOKIE, IT SAYS POLYNESIAN RESORT! Just walk up the ramp and get on the nice little train-like
thingy and it will take you where you need to go, OK! Would you like me to hold your little hand up the ramp, you poor unfortunate soul?" (Little Mermaid plug!)

Ok--he didn't really say that! But, the look on his face said it all! Actually he was very nice and was kind enough to point me in the right direction!

We get on the monorail and we are now 15 minutes past the reservation time. I kept saying, "There not gonna let us in--It's too late, It's too late!!!"
I was beginning to sound like the Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland!!:rotfl2:

We finally get there about 25 minutes late and I run up to the front desk at O'hana. I tell them the whole story about why we are late, and the very patient woman nods at me as if to say, "I really don't give a crap, lady! Can't you see the 500 people waiting in this lobby! I really don't want to hear your sob story!" But, she just smiles sweetly and says: "Oh, it's okay. we're running a little behind anyway because the fireworks are about to start and people like to eat here while the fireworks are going on. It will be another half-hour anyway." Bless her little heart! Now, at this point I have no right to complain because I was late myself. DH and DS just shake thier heads!:sad2: She says that they ran out of little light-up pager thingys and to check back periodically to get one. DS checks out the lobby and decides he is going to load up on about thirty-five Disney Vacation Club buttons and he proceeds to pin them all over his hoodie! Do you think he's trying to hint at something, or what?

DH and I order an "Island Sunset" from the bar. It was a wonderfully delicious tropical drink! Yum! DS asks for a cherry coke. The bartender puts about 17 marachino cherries in it, and my son couldn't be happier! It don't take much to please him, does it? I send DH back up to the podium to see if there were any pagers available and he is told by another woman that our name is not in the system!! Oh, no she DIDN"T!!!! DH comes over to me and tells me this little tidbit of information, and I'm ready for--you guessed it--Temper Tantrum #3! Right as my blood is about to boil, A nice young man comes over and says he has our table ready but did not want to shout out the last name because he was afraid he would mis-pronounce it! That's a sin!:guilty: You see, our last name is of German derevation. Luecke. That's it. Pronounced LOU-KEY. You should see my maiden name--Hungarian! I won't even get into that right now!:) I think the poor guy went around to all 500 people in the lobby to ask they were the "Leaky, Lucky, Lanky party!"

All told, I think we waited around an extra ten minutes. Not bad for being told it would be at least a half an hour. Off to the table we go!

The food is delicious! First, they come out with wontons with 3 dipping sauces. The peanut sauce is great! Then, a salad with a sweet dressing on it! SOOOO good! Next comes honey-corriander(Sp?) chicken wings.(DH considers himself a chicken-wing expert, he and DS declare these delicious as well.) There are also peel-and-eat shrimp, and cheesy scalloped potatoes. These potatoes were AWESOME!!!! DH doesn't like cheese of any kind!! Can you imagine that!!!!!:confused3 When I found out that little tidbit when we first started dating, I should have turned around and RAN VERY QUICKLY IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!!! Who doesn't like CHEESE for God's sake!!!! Also, there were mixed sauteed vegetables. These were good as well.

Ladies and Gentlemen, HERE COME THE MEAT SKEWERS! Turkey, Pork Loin, steak, and sausage! If you like barbequed meats, this is the place to go! Loved them all!

Last but certainly not least--Tadah! BREAD PUDDING WITH VANILLA ICE CREAM AND BANANAS FOSTER SAUCE!! Hello!! This was by far and away the best dessert I've ever had at WDW! If I wasn't the very prim and proper young lady that I am, I would have picked up the plate and LICKED it!! I didn't though. Or, did I?

Nah, I didn't. But I wanted to!

As we were finishing up our meat course, Wishes was starting. The music from the fireworks show was piping into the dining room and the lights were dimmed. It is a nice ending to a wonderful meal. I forgot to mention that our waitress was extremely nice and took an Island Sunset off the bill because in her opinion, it took too long to get to the table for DH. In OUR opinion, it didn't. But, SHOOT, who are we to argue!!!

Another great day over. Back to MGM tommorow!:cool1:

I love Ohana's. It is one of my favorite restaurants there. Yummy. Disney transportation can be a little troublesome if you do not know all the stops and everything. Cannot wait to read more!

Beauty, my friend, thanks for your interest!

Don't you just LOVE O"Hana! I think the changes in the menu are great!! The potatoes!! Those wonderfully delicious potatoes!!! I dream about them!!!

And I've learned my lesson about the buses! Practice makes perfect, Right?

I'll just have to go back quite a few more times to get it right! Don'tcha think?
