WCC -- Bottomless milkshakes? Really?

Okay, you have my attention! I think I've decided on Whispering Canyon Cafe for our last night (in spite of DH's piscatarianism) -- but this will settle it for sure:

BOTTOMLESS MILKSHAKES?

We are a pro-milkshake family, so this would will be a huge draw. I didn't see milkshakes listed on the menu on allears. Are they included in the dining plan as a regular beverage? If no, how much do they cost? What flavors are available?

They are very good. I think you can get them as either a dessert or drink; I'm not sure.

I've heard that you can get them as a beverage on the dining plan, but can't confirm. If not, does anybody know how much they cost?

I consider myself a milkshake connoisseur , and did not care for the bottomless milkshakes. I tried all three flavors. They were ok. The biggest disappointment to me was how long it would take us to get a refill. I don't know if that's common or if we just didn't have a great server. But it would take 20-25 minutes for us to get another. The glasses are fairly small. I had two (wanted a third one but didn't have time to wait) and had a sip of my Dad's to try the orange one. I was disappointed as this was the main reason I was looking forward to eating here.

DH loves the bottomless milkshakes. They could be a bit thicker, in my opinion, but they are a great value if you are a milkshake lover. The last time we ate there, he ordered them and tried all of the flavors (chocolate and strawberry were his favorites). We never had to wait more than 5-7 minutes for a refill. The flavors that day were chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and orange. The glasses are somewhat small but that gives you more chances to try new flavors

DS totally agreed with this. It astounded me how long it took for refills and the flavor was just ok nothing special. If your going only for the milkshakes be prepared that they may not be the greatest.

DS had the bottomless milkshake as a beverage on the DP in May. Our server kept it full for him. So much so he ended up with "milkshake hangover."

I am not sure how much they were....for some reason $4.99 sticks in my head, but I could be off there.

DS did ask me if we go back there in February if we could do it again on a night that we have no plans so he can go back to the room and take a nap.

Yep, they are definately bottomless. DS got one a few years back. I think they are $4.99, but I could be mistaken. We don't usually get them as we would be too full to eat our skillet dinner!

Yes, you can get as many different flavors as you want. They bring you a whole new glass.

Just had breakfast there yesterday. In the hour we were there, of the 5 of us that opted for this, everyone had at least 2 refills and 2 had 3 or more. They are served in "Ball" jars (like mason canning jars, but made by Ball) - I would say 12 or 16 oz. Our server was prompt with refills, often bringing them before the first one was totally finished. We were not on the dining plan, so don't know not what they count as - but the cost was either 4.69 or 4.99.
And, having stayed at WL for the week, I can tell you the antics at WCC are as loud and wild as ever (in my opinion anyway)! Never did I walk through the lobby when someone wasn't screaming or yelling, singing a song, riding a pony or doing something "fun", no matter what meal was being served.

Thanks for this thread! I had read about them, but for some reason assumed they came in a huge container (thinking like a small bucket for some reason, lol) and I'm glad to know they don't!

The orange tastes just like a creamsicle. They are considered beverages on the DDP.

Holy cow! I'm with you WestWingKath--bottomless milkshakes + included as a beverage on the DDP = a no brainer. I'll have to try to talk everyone into taking the boat over from MK one night for dinner.

Yes, they are included as a beverage on the DDP....and of course, you can get a tap water too. DD really didn't care for them...don't know what her issue was, but she thought it was a crummy milkshake.

Agree that milkshakes aren't that great... as with almost all the food at wdw, they are adequate. My 11 yo ds ordered this and was unable to drink more than just the one, the food at wcc is HEAVY!!!

The milkshakes are one of my dd's favorite things. The ones at 50's are the very best but she is very happy to drink the ones at WCC!!!! We can never finish more than two though. It's funny that someone said they didn't think they were thick enough.....we think they are too thick. We get tired from drinking them...in fact, my dd asked if they had bigger straws!!!!

Does anyone know if the shakes at 50s Prime Time are also beverages on the Dining Plan?
