Deb, I'm glad your legs feel a little better today.
My head started pounding around 5am, so I took some Excedrin when I got up at 5:30am to go pick Tyler up from the YMCA. Slept until noon (he'll probably sleep all day after being up all night swimming and skating eating pizza and having fun!) and now my head is banging again. Time for more Excedrin.
He did great at home yesterday all day for the snow day. Wasn't going to post that online anywhere while he was home alone, for safety of course. I called him after 2 hours, made him read me his list of rules as a refresher, and he told me he was playing a game on his iPad, watching Disney channel, eating Garrett popcorn and had taken a short nap. I called him at lunchtime to remind him to eat lunch and he was playing a Wii game and had been playing with the cat. He called me a bit later to tell me a random phone call came up but he didn't answer it since it wasn't on the list of allowed phone numbers I'd given him but he wanted to make sure it wasn't me calling from a different number. Then he called me at some point in the afternoon and asked me to please not call him for a little while because he wanted to take a nap, LOL! Then I called him on my way home to let him know he could go outside to start shoveling. He was so proud of himself for following all the rules!

Couldn't reschedule. Would have had to wait until the monster truck show comes back next year. No way! Not when he loves it so much. Besides, I bought our tickets long ago and wouldn't have liked to waste the money. I suppose I could have found somebody else to take him in my place, but part of the fun is that it's something WE do together every year.
Oh , and sledding never happened. Unfortunately, there was a one hour wait for snow tubes, and we wouldn't have had enough time after that. But Tyler was fine with that because he was too tired and sore from his overnight at the YMCA. I told him we can try today after church if he wants. But it looks like we're not going to church because he's still sleeping. I'm going to let him sleep because since he NEVER sleeps in past 7am, he's obviously that worn out.
I hope everybody's OK! I've only seen that much snow once in my life. It was around 1978. When you looked out the windows, you couldn't even see any cars because the snow was that deep. To get out, we had to shove hard to get the door open just a crack, enough to reach out and start digging, and keep digging little by little until gradually the door could get shoved open more and more, little by little, and so on. Then came the challenge of digging/tunneling to the car and begin digging out. Lots of work for just my mom and I! I have cool pictures of the tunnels she and I dug for fun and pics of me sitting in caves we made in the snow!
That's still my plan, if I can find a job there.
Yes, he needs the sleep, but he just got up now. Says he feels a lot better, but I predict he'll fall asleep early tonight.
My head is still throbbing a bit, and I haven't even gotten up yet. Still lying down. But.... away I go, off to start the day! Life with a kid.
