Thanks Jill......love the new stuff.....you're so talented! Post more when you can.

Well that's one way to get me off my feet!

Unfortunately, the legs are worse again today. I just made an appointment with the wound doctor again tomorrow morning. It looks like the right leg is all infected yet AGAIN. It goes away, it comes back. I'm ready to give up!

So I'll see the doctor tomorrow and he'll do a culture and it'll probably be strep again.....it looks like I have strep throat on my leg....then he'll put me on antibiotics again. That means no champagne for me this trip.....can't drink alcohol while taking antibiotics.

I hope this is not a foreboding for how this trip is going to go. First the TV goes out and then the leg gets worse......hopefully my luck will change quickly.
Deb, I can't imagine how awful this must be. It sounded like you were doing the right things and this happens again. I hope things improve soon for that leg.

So, given all the new info/rumours about the 2010 itineraries, what are you all thinking of doing now?
It's too confusing for me to even think of any of it. I'll have to base it on what's during the summer when school's out. With all of the help Tyler's getting in school, I don't want him to miss any of that because it's really helping quicker than I'd ever expected (at least in the academic area). :thumbsup2

YEAHHHHHHHHHHH JOHN REALLY IS MY HERO!!!!!!!!!!!

He fixed the TV so now it's back to normal for everyone in the house. It was a short in the cables coming out of the multiswitch off of the satellite dish. Way too complicated for me......I just know that it's fixed now. I'll be spending all day Wednesday programming 10 days worth of recordings. But I'm so glad that I'll get to see all the season openers tonight and all week.

Nan, Survivor starts this Thursday.......Don't Forget.

I get to see Heros and Dancing With The Stars tonight. YEAHHHHHH!!!!!

Bummer we will be in the car headed to Reno (wilson's race, again), Maybe we'll get Wilson out of school a bit early, it would be so nice to check in have a dip in the pool, then sanwhiches for dinner and SURVIVOR from our hotel bed!!!

okay you may not believe this but I made dinner tonight!!!! :thumbsup2

Pulled Pork BBque sandwhiches. Still in the crock pot, I'm going to nap for an hour then get up to finish it off.

Paul is the one that cooks in our house, but no work for me so I have to get into my SAHM role...:bride:

It was still very busy, but not CRAZY busy because my coworker returned from her cruise. I asked her about the Toy Story show on the Wonder and she told me she wouldn't see it again. She said it just didn't hold her attention like all the other shows do, and there was lots of murmuring throughout the audience like others felt the same. Interesting.

I've heard similar reviews. I'll be interested to see it for myself in Dec.

Thanks Holly.....that's what I thought too! Oh well. Back to square one again.

It sounds delicious Nan. I love crock pot meals best!

Not sure if anybody remembers, but before I left work on Friday, one of the partners had a 1/2 hour conversation with me about the new job. He asked me if there's anything they can do to stop this from happening. I told him, sure, they could match the pay and number of hours (40 compared to 37.5) and toss me a few more vacation days, but the insurance is the big kicker for me. I told him I'm almost 40, so there are things that could start going wrong, and I just don't like the idea of the GIANT yearly deductible when the new place can give me the plan with ZERO yearly deductible, just the $20 copay for most things. But I told him I'm sad to leave because I really do enjoy the guys I work for, even the old guy, believe it or not, and I like the comfort level of knowing everything there.

Well, there must have been some discussions because today our office manager called me into her office and told me that same lawyer talked to her and asked her if I'd be OK with them asking me to stay with them for the same amount of pay. I told her just what I told him, and she said, "OK, I'll tell him you said no."

Well, after I left her office, I went to talk to that lawyer directly and told him of the conversation in the office manager's office. I told him I just wanted to share that info because she's not known for accurate communications. He thanked me for letting him know.

Just a bit later, his secretary (while I was at her desk working on the filing from all the work I did while she was gone) helped me realize that since they can't change the insurance plan for the whole firm, if they really want me to stay, they could take the amount of the yearly deductible (which is the main dealbreaker for me), figure out how much per hour that equals over a year, then add that onto the increased amount that the new job is offering me. It's just that simple. We came up with the dollar amount and of course, she'd want a couple dollar increase too if I'm getting one, and I asked her to go mention it to that lawyer because she's his secretary and knows how best to communicate with him. ;)

As I left today, she confirmed with me, "So it would take XXX dollars for you to stay, right?" So I'm hoping that means she's going to talk to him because I just don't have the guts to demand that.

HOWEVER, about 3 years ago I was hired elsewhere and my current job offered to match what the new place would have paid me, and I stayed. So if they did it before, they just might do it again! If not, it's fine, it's just fun to negotiate and very nice to feel appreciated! :goodvibes

OH! Tyler's day.

Morning: 1/2 smile/1/2 frown (just a straight line mouth) for "keeping hands and feet to self", and smiley face for "not disrupting class".

Afternoon: Smiley face in both categories!

So this was a GREAT day for him! His teacher said there was only one minor incident in the morning. It didn't involve hurting anybody, so that's good. He just had to keep touching another child's face and had trouble stopping. He has this thing where he just has to touch and it's sort of like tapping the person over and over again. VERY irritating to that other person, I'd imagine.

SO WE WENT FOR ICE CREAM FOR HIS REWARD! Yummy! :goodvibes

Karate class was horrible and they almost asked him to leave, but it didn't involve hurting people, so I can handle that. Plus, when it came time for him to perform his moves of a particular form in front of everybody, he somehow switched off the troublemaker switch and did it perfectly. Amazing.

He was totally exhausted though, and almost fell asleep on the way to his 5:30 OT appointment. Poor guy. Then we still had to get home, have dinner and his bath and read bedtime book. He barely made it awake through it all.

LET'S HOPE HE CAN DO TWO DAYS IN A ROW! :yay:

Very cute, Jill!

Thanks, I scrapbook/do swap stuff to relax. Its also time my mom and I spend together just the 2 of us.

I have good news:
This past weekend My DM, sister and I went to Chattanooga to go to a scrap convention and the mall. This was my moms first time leaving my stepdad since he couldn't walk. I asked Matt if he would stay with him for the day and he did. We had a fun time, I spent lots of $$$, the mall was worse than our local mall though but still fun. While we were gone Matt took my stepdad to the bookstore, target, and hardees. He took his wheelchair and they had a good time too. My poor stepdad said it was the first day no one had yelled at him for trying walking. (it scares mom when he tries to walk). We are thinking of doing this once a month now (girls day out). So all in all it worked out fine. My mom is doing better since she went to the Dr. for depression medicine. He said it was normal for people who take care of a disabled spouse to become depressed. She is starting to relax a little but she has always been uptight.

Strange thing about Tyler's day. Both his teacher and the special ed teacher told me all morning it was like he had ants in his pants. So bad, they said they've never seen him like this so far this year. It was very extreme they said, but by afternoon that was completely gone. I don't think that's a side effect of his particular med, but I'll still mention it at our appointment on Thursday, but for some reason, I'm kind of thinking it was nervousness. I say that because on the way to school this morning, one of his arms had itchy bumps all over the top part from his wrist to his elbow and they looked like hives. I told him that Grandpa (my dad) gets bumps all over when he's really, really worried about something, and asked him if he's worried about his day. He denied that of course, but I can't help wondering if he was feeling pressures, knowing his med has been increased and feels expected to have a better day. And those bumps were completely gone after school. In fact, he told me he noticed at lunch that they were gone. Strange, huh?

Maybe he did have ants in his pants and they bit him on the arm :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Great news about your dad's time with Matt. Sounds like a good idea to do that regularly. It really gives everybody a break. I can certainly understand your mom's depression and am glad she's feeling better. I can't imagine how hard it must be for her taking care of your dad and all the emotions that go with dealing with the situation.

I made baked chicken and risotto. I tried making pulled pork in the crock pot and I guess I used a BBQ sauce that was too spicy because it was just too much. My sis made it once with beef and she made the sauce homemade and it was a lot better.
