Hi Holly.....hope you have a good work day today. It's happy news that you got another job. You will do just fine. Look at it as a new adventure and you're a sponge absorbing all new information.

I used to do temp work inbetween jobs.....so every day or every week I would go to a new workplace. It was a great opportunity to meet new people and see how each different office and business runs.

You'll do fine because you pick up new things quickly. Just have some confidence. And CONGRATULATIONS! After a year of interviewing, it finally paid off.:cool1:

Good Morning Marilyn.....only 5 days to go before leaving for holiday.....I have 6 more days to go and I'm getting excited too.

Good Morning Deborah......YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I'm sooooooo glad you were able to get all your pictures back. Priceless!

Good Morning Universe

(Nan, was that inclusive enough?)

Gaylean, congrats on your new job too. How awesome that it finally worked out for you after all the trouble with the fingerprints.

Hope you and Jon and Brooke feel better soon. Glad Ethan is better now.

Enjoy your day at work today.

Good Morning Ian......I loved the justification about the "garden" hoe.....just cracked me up!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hope today is a better work day for you. At least it's almost Friday.

Here's a kitty story for you Jill, I woke up this morning to Ella (cat) acting all kinds of happy and very excited. She brought me a present......a dead baby mouse!!!! EEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

How did you think I made gravy with that type of pork chop?

Hi Lisa

Hi Gaylean - sorry I missed you last night - I was just doing a drive by.

My sister, BIL and niece are ariving tonight so I had to do stuff around the house. We're going to MNSSHP tomorrow night and spending the weekend at WDW.

Yup, I've heard there's lots of that all over, but this is my first job experiencing it. Oh well. What's funny is the days I'm on here lots during the workday, I still get about 3 times the amount of work done as our one slacker. I'm just really fast and a great multi tasker (as are ALL moms, which she's not). :goodvibes

Hey I'm not a mom - but I'm a great multi-tasker :thumbsup2

In the gov it seems they promote the slackers because it's easier than firing them. So the good people can never advance because they are too hard to replace.

Oh, one more thing before I fall asleep. Tomorrow WILL be a better day because I get to GIVE MY NOTICE! I got a new job as a legal assistant and they want me to start no later than Oct. 1. I'm HORRIBLY nervous because I've only had one office job ever, the one where I've currently been for almost 4 years. So I'm horrified at leaving that comfort zone where I know how to do everything. I'm terrified of the extra duties I'll have at the new job that I've never done, like keeping the attorney's calendar for him. BUT.....no environment can be as bad as the one I'm leaving, so I suppose I'll be fine. And even if I hate the new job and screw it up so badly they don't want to keep me, the old job will take me back immediately because they always, always, always try to ask former employees to come back. In fact, about 2 years ago I got a job somewhere else making $2/hour more, and my current employer offered me more to STAY. I accepted because I was afraid of leaving that comfort zone. This time if they offer, I won't stay because I'm just burned out and need change.

AND....I'll have vacations! Sure, I was just given that perk where I am now, but I can't use until a year has passed. The insurance is better where I'm going because the plan at my current employer has a $2500 deductible per year (and they haven't started it for me yet anyway). The current job was going to give me one week vacation starting next year, but the new job is giving me 12 days for years 1-3, 15 days for years 4 & 5, and 21 days for 6 years and beyond. Only 50cents/hour more to start, but another $1/hour added to that after 90 days, so that will be $1.50/hour more total.

Congratualtions!!
:cool1:

Hi Nan.....how's the diet and boot camp going? Are you sticking with it? Are you still crabby? It's so doggone hard isn't it?

I've been craving an ice cream sunday for a couple of weeks now, but I'm waiting until I'm on vacation in FL before I get one. I figured that I'll be off the diet then anyway, so why ruin it now. I plan what and when and where I'm going to cheat. Then I wait for it and it's so much more enjoyable and satisfying. Then I'm cured for a while. It works for me.:lmao:

Good Morning

My neighdoor went away to China yesterday and he was asking 'how you get on with your computer' and I told him good but disappointed about photos, etc had been wiped out.

That sounds like you're going to have SO MUCH FUN! Enjoy and take lots of pictures to share with us.

John took the day off and is home today. He says he didn't sleep at all last night and that he wouldn't be able to do the drive there and back without sleep.

We just shared coffee together and now he went to bed.

I think he just needed a mental health day. I think he's anticipating being in Mickey's World again soon.

Michelle, you're right......it's just like that commercial on TV.....I can't sleep, I'm too excited!

Just wanted to say, YEA Monica......glad the meds started to kick in and you feel better.

Hope you had a great dinner with the cousins. Where did you eat?

Jan and Michelle, both of you.....thank you so much for all your concern, I promise not to take any steroids while on vacation. I will be tempted because I know how good they make me feel. But I won't do it because of the consequences afterwards.

I will just have to take it easy when I need to.....I just hope it's not all day, every day!

that mean THANK YOU

You could look for something too! :goodvibes I've actually been looking and interviewing for almost a year. We have such a high unemployment rate here in Michigan, I heard on the news last night it's 8%, so there are lots of other people out there looking for work too. Close to 100 applied for the job I just got, but they only interviewed 7 people.
Oh you must be lucky

Hi Bubba, Hi V.....before I lost mom, I had asked her to write down some of my favorite recipes for me. She couldn't do it. She said, "you put some of this in until it looks like that and then you add something else until it tastes like that." So I have NO written recipes. At least she did SHOW John how to make Greek soup and Stuffed Grape Leaves.....two staples that are my absolute favorites.....he just does't make them as often as she did and she would always give me a doggie bag.

that mean THANK YOU

What is she trying to tell me???? That I'm a good mommy???? I wish she would find another way......purring works for me!

You just have to have a sense of adventure to enjoy it. If you were uncomfortable because you didn't know anything, you would stress. You have to be aware of the fact that they know you don't know anything yet and that they are willing to teach you. As long as you pick it up quickly, you do good.

Don't forget to back it up this time. Might as well do that as you're organizing them.

We are going to Orlando in 6 days and we're staying for 6 nights. We'll be meeting with Monica and Lisa and Darrell and doing Epcot Food and Wine Festival. I'm soooooooooo excited.

September 29th is our 18th wedding anniversary. Usually we're on a cruise at this time of the year and then do WDW afterwards. But since we already cruised this year, we're only going to WDW.

It's funny how excited we're both getting. You would think that we had never been there before.:woohoo:
