Holly - how did day 2 go for Tyler?
A bit better. Apparently he was in a fight over a swing with another boy, and the teacher told them they'd have to work it out, and they did. I told her THAT'S a major deal for Tyler and told her how in the past, once he got to the point of being physical, there was no stopping him...a runway freight train. So the fact that he was able to work something out with somebody is major for him.

I shared Cheri's words with his dad in an email this morning and he agreed and says he thinks Tyler just needs some extra nurturing while he adjusts. He told me Tyler said on the way to school this morning that he thinks "1st grade is stupid". That's just frustration speaking though. But it made me feel even more that I want to run up to school on my lunch hour and give him a big hug.

Give it a couple more weeks Monica. Sorry you have to go through this though.

Thanks - I'm just glad that I have control over my tongue - if not, I'd have alot of angry coworkers!! :lmao:

BTW - thought of you this morning - passed a Meijer's truck on I4. Made me also remember my aunt - when she & my mom are together, they don't go shopping, they go "Meijering"

Hugs are never a bad thing  Give him one for me too.

Glad Dad is finally getting things--it'll make things so much better for Tyler.

Ok - what else can I say.....I haven't noticed anything yet w/ the new meds. Still close to yelling at people at work (right now I want to tell them all to shut up). Still teary. It's only been 2 weeks so not expecting any miracles yet.

As they say....same ol' same ol'.

Keep going Monica. Some things take time, but you must be feeling fed up of feeling fed up by now!!!

Sometimes he gets it, sometimes he's still clueless, but he seems more and more open to things I say ever since the latest blowup after Tyler had been on meds only a few days and dad & stepmom were trying to say they were seeing negative side effects and I told them off, etc. ;)

OH! I totally forgot to mention....speaking of stepmom, I still hadn't seen her in almost 2 months because she storms out of the house or room whenever I come over. Well, when they dropped Tyler off at my house on Sunday after their camping weekend, she stayed out in the truck for the FIRST TIME EVER. She always comes in with Tyler and his dad to say goodbye to him. I had to laugh at her stubbornness. Well, yesterday on my way to drop Tyler over there after karate class, his dad called me and said, "I'm really sorry, but I'm running late, so you'll get there before me. Sheilah is there though, but sorry about that." Or something along those lines. Well, she had a very friendly hello for Tyler and didn't even make eye contact with me, AND still stormed out of the room as soon as she let us in. :rotfl2: Tyler went to put his things in his bedroom and I'm standing alone in the living room. I called him out to give me a goodbye hug and then I left. It just cracked me up! I just think it's hilarious though that his dad apologized in advance. :lmao:

Methinks she is childish, but is obviously very insecure at the moment too.

I agree, but it still makes me laugh. Yup, I'm mean, but can't help it. I'm glad I don't have her life. She very rarely smiles, even when she's not mad at me. She's one of those people who isn't happy unless she's complaining about something. She's always saying how tired she is and how she feels sick, etc. Yet she still tries to get pregnant.....can't imagine her dealing with pregnancy well!

Oh, I don't blame you for laughing Holly. It isn't easy dealing with this woman whether she is there or stomping out and making a 'statement'!!!

I just hope she behaves better when within the family unit with Tyler.

I hope she does too, but I doubt it. Tyler's mentioned before how angry she gets and how she's always yelling at other cars when they're driving somewhere. Good grief. I always tell him, "Well, we all get impatient sometimes, but we just have to remember to try to remain calm." or something along those lines.

I don't mean to bash her. We all have our flaws, so I'm sure she finds plenty of things about me that irritate her. I just enjoy chuckling at her antics. ;)

Switching to happier topics, that 80-year old I work for truly amazes me! Yesterday he was telling me about his trip to San Francisco over the holiday weekend to visit one of his daughters. He had me look up the length of the Golden Gate Bridge because he and his daughter walked over and back. I found that it's 1.7 miles each way. :thumbsup2

Thanks Marilyn - I'm just tired of not being happy but pretending I am, and I'm really tired of being so angry all the time. That's the part of this that is new to me.

Monica, I really hope the new meds start to kick in soon. Just remember to come here whenever you're feeling not quite right.

Thanks Holly....as I told Jackie a few weeks ago - you guys here are my lifeline. You're the only reason I'm able to hold things together. I am so thankful for all of you, and as others have stated-it's amazing that I now have lifelong friendships that I treasure.

10 hours is a really long day when you have no work to do. I had about an hour of work first thing this morning, and nothing since. Just waiting for somebody to produce something for me to do!

I feel exactly the same way. Each time I've struggled with something, whether internally or something with Tyler, etc., the people here with such varied backgrounds and from all walks of life have been such a wonderful comfort as well as a great resource of information! There's really some magic going on with this group.

How is the paper clip chain going Holly. I reckon it should go from work to Port Canaveral by now!!!:lmao:
