Jon always wants to buy me fancy bags and jewelry because his friend's wives have them and I always tell him to take me on vacation. Our friends rarely go anywhere and that is not acceptable for me.
Never a snow day off work?
![]()
We got that once in the 14 years we lived in our first house. The snow fell so fast and heavy all night that the plows could not keep up. It was upstate NY where they KNOW how to handle snow.
Unusual to have a "snow day" when you're an adult

Hi everyone! I am sorry I haven't stayed up on the boards. Summertime just seemed to fly by. Just wanted to pop in and say hi, hope everyone is well - and best wishes Ian on your upcoming wedding.
Lisa
Hi Lisa!
Can't believe the kids are starting school already...I feel like I'm still in spring time, but before you know it the school busses will start to roll through the neighborhood waking me at the crack of dawn...
I've had my days... good and not so... I just found a whole bag od Tart N Tiny's that I believe will temporarily make me feel better... I cannot get hold of any Smarties until daybreak...(that's my story and I'm stickin to it...)
I haven't seen the post yet... I'm hoping for the Med but there's lots of talk about N Europe... Anybody in?![]()
Nope, still not familiar....
Is it from a show?![]()

Most electrical appliances and machines are toddlers. They do as they like, they push the limites, they don't believe you are serious until you threaten them or actually put them in time-out.
My computer requires time out from time to time. I tell it that if it cannot play nice, then it will be timed-out and it can come back in 20 seconds and stay out if it plays nice. But if it doesn't play nice, it gets another time out.
Then I turn it off, count to 20 and turn it on.
I am NOT kidding here.

I just think it is an old song. It became better known 10 - 20 years ago with being used for a tea advert. Conmtrary to what some of you might think(Gaylean!!!), I wasn't alive when they sounded like that when they sang!!!!![]()
Marilyn, thank you. You made the morning here at Eastwood Manor.
I personally am not familiar with it, so I called Sukie into hear it. He said everybody in England knows it. Apparently it was also used in an advert in the '70's.
Hearing it seems to put Sukie in a very good mood this morning!
Marilyn,
You cause a fury at Eastwood Manor with the "Cup of Tea" song. Sukie, now urgently needing to know the origins, fled to the Internet where he found this:
"I can't give you the specific answer you're looking for on this one but perhaps I can clarify one or two things for you.
Firstly the original song 'Nice Cup of Tea' was written by the English humourist and playwright AP Herbert for his musical revue 'Home & Beauty' which was first performed in 1937 to celebrate the coronation of King George VI.
In the 1970s the song was used by Brooke Bond for their 'D' brand of tea so the lyrics became 'I like a nice cup of D in the morning'. I believe that the former F1 world champion Jackie Stewart and his wife Helen featured in the advert.
So the fact that 'tea' was altered to 'D' obviously meant that the jingle was recorded specifically for the ad rather than an old version of the song being used. Chances are that it was recorded by a session/jingles singer rather than an established artist which would make them almost impossible to track down 30+ years on. "
You have to remember, he's the one writing a history book.

Gee.....I wish I knew what I was doing on Saturday, Sept 6th...Will I really be icing cupcakes, making Gumby colored frosting, shoveling donkey poop?????

Hey Michelle! The kids are doing great. School starts on Monday and I am DREADING it! Life changing so much...no more sleep in days for the kids, homework, sports, music....argh. It is great for the kids, and might be great if I didn't work, but trying to juggle it all is always the biggest challenge.
How are you doing? Feeling well?
Reading about all the donut talk really gets me craving one! Did you guys catch Andrew's post that 2010 will come out in Oct?
Lisa

Had a long conversation with cousin Jo. She has been studying the Unoffical Guide to WDW for months now and had a big old list of questions for me. I had a blast talking to her about their trip (she'll be there for my birthday)
Did you guys hear that Four For A Dollar are no longer doing the pre-show at Beauty and The Beast at MGM.....excuse me, Hollywood Studios. Man, I LOVED those guys. They are individually being interviewed/considered for other positions for Disney however.
