Yesterday pm was Hel.....at work....we were down 3 agents so phones were super busy. Had a headache for most of the day too....turned into a migraine, so after I got home at 8pm I lay on the couch for about 1 hr in a dark & quiet house then went to bed at 9pm. Still have a bit of it left so I sit here at my desk wearing sunglasses as the lights are REALLY bothering me. I am typing at a sllllllllllooooooooowwwwwwwww speed as this is bothering me too. Nauseaus too. Looks like it will be a fun day....

We'll see how today goes - we're down 2 agents & it's a Friday.

Is it October yet??? I really need to know what DCL is doing in 2010! I have some planning to do!

Monica - come over here and get a big HUG. Then tell me who you want me to kick the crap out of.

1st of all - thank you for the chuckle & the hug....
2nd -- just about all my coworkers ;)

Thanks all for the nice hi back! Now that we have 2010 so close on our horizion, we have something to plan again! Isn't that fun?? I know some of you already have your plans for 2009, but I think that is just going to be too soon for us. If I recall right, they don't release the whole year at one time...I wish they did as I think I will be booking for later part in 2010. How about everyone else??

Off to do last minute shopping before school starts. Did you hear that the average family spends $600 in back-to-school shopping? I suppose that might get up there with some families buying a lap top or computer.

Lisa

I couldn't get on last night and so I've just sped through a bunch of pages to get all caught up. I think I've retained the key points :joker:
-Ian & Sukie want donuts and donkeys at the wedding and the music should include the tea song from 70's commercials in Britain. Gumby and Pokey will be standing on cupcakes with sprinkles. I'll be missing a fantastic event next month! :lmao: If I only had more vacation days, we'd head down for the big event. ::yes::

Monica - I hope your migraine ends soon :grouphug:

Ken took the girls and our nephew to Vancouver today to watch a football game tonight. They'll drive 7 hours today, watch the game tonight and drive home tomorrow, so I get one night alone in my house :cool1: :yay: I can't remember the last time having 24 hours alone! I'm so looking forward to going home after work and having a little nap, then just vegging all evening and sleeping in tomorrow. Well, actually the vegging will include :laundy: , and after I sleep in tomorrow I have a whole list of work to do!

Have a great day everybody!

must be some families buying computer or fancy calculators (the one I had to get for my classes was $100). I also heard average price for shoes for back to school is $110 :scared1:

Good Morning Cruisers!

I'm up and about today.....it's time to pay the bills! YUCK!

Monica, I really hope you feel better soon.

Lisa/calmom welcome back onboard.....glad you had a great summer.....sorry you're not happy about school starting, but it will be okay once you get back into a routine.

Shannon, it sounds like you're getting a little mini-vaca.......enjoy every minute of it.

Michelle, I hope you hit BIG today! Good Luck!

John is working late tonight and all day tomorrow. YUCK! Hard to believe that before I got married, I lived alone and loved it. Now when I'm going to be alone so much I don't enjoy it. I miss the company.

Nothing like procrastinating when you don't feel like doing something......but I guess I better get started. It's not going to get done all by itself. Cya later. Everyone have a great Friday!:goodvibes

Did the WONDER go to Port Canaveral or to Fort Lauderdale? :confused3

Jan :earsgirl:

THe Wonder departed from Ft. Lauderdale....Port Everglades. I imagine it was a disastrous day  for the DME and DCL transportation cast members.....
I wasn't scheduled until 11am, so I only had to deal with a few upset passengers......the departure from our resort was at 1:25pm. Our guests were actually pretty good about the whole situation.......it helped that they knew the sun was shining south of us. :beach: I sure hope it's nice on Castaway Cay!

Connie

I haven't seen the post yet... I'm hoping for the Med but there's lots of talk about N Europe... Anybody in? :dance3:

I would love to go to N.Europe! My friend, Dale, who is a cruise specialist is planning a wonderful trip for next year. I am tempted to do it instead of the 7 day Eastern on the Magic......

Oh, one of the kids on our 09 cruise said they've cancelled the 10/3 Halloween Party at MK and there is going to be a 'press event' there instead. Hmmmmmmmm.........:confused3 DCL announcements perhaps?????

.

Maybe that's why they recently added Oct 4th to the dates of MNSSHP.

I was thinking that Deborah. Perhaps it will improve for them as they head south again.

A question for Ian.

What is 'tilting at windmills'? I hope it didn't take up too much of your day!!:lmao:

Marilyn

I do hope so and I hope they have a lovely weather at Panama Canal on Monday. Ian think it might not.

I said let wait and see. Keep my finger cross, hope they get a lovely day on Monday.

An act of futility.

Here is a more formal definition from Wikipedia:

Tilting at windmills is an English idiom which means attacking imaginary enemies, or fighting otherwise-unwinable battles. The word “tilt,” here, comes from jousting.

This idiomatic phrase originated in the novel Don Quixote, and is often used today in reference to persistent engagement in a futile activity. At one point in the novel, Don Quixote fights windmills that he imagines to be giants. Quixote sees the windmill blades as the giant's arms, for instance. Here is the relevant portion of the novel:

Just then they came in sight of thirty or forty windmills that rise from that plain. And no sooner did Don Quixote see them that he said to his squire, "Fortune is guiding our affairs better than we ourselves could have wished. Do you see over yonder, friend Sancho, thirty or forty hulking giants? I intend to do battle with them and slay them. With their spoils we shall begin to be rich for this is a righteous war and the removal of so foul a brood from off the face of the earth is a service God will bless."

"What giants?" asked Sancho Panza.

"Those you see over there," replied his master, "with their long arms. Some of them have arms well nigh two leagues in length."

"Take care, sir," cried Sancho. "Those over there are not giants but windmills. Those things that seem to be their arms are sails which, when they are whirled around by the wind, turn the millstone."
