So pleased to hear Brooke is ok now.

Well, the weather is warming up nicely!!! Going to be hot at the weekend. Of course, most of the children go back to school on Monday, so this usually happens!!!

Our tv improves in the autumn!!!

Sounds like that will be a fun weekend. I love going to weddings because we get to catch up with old friends (gossip). That seems to be the only time we all get together anymore.

I'm going to the reception for Ian and Sukie but I won't be able to make it to the wedding if I start working by then. I went today to do my finger printing and when that is done I can start. I want to go because I want to see how they are dressed!!!!

I'm sorry your summer was so cold. Right now I am ready for it to be cooler. It is never cold here. I've been sweating so bad the last few days it reminds me of PC :scared1:

I haven't seen any announcements of upcoming new series etc as yet. CSI Miami started a few weeks ago so I am watching that.

I can watch that but I don't like it that much. It is alright if I'm really bored. I like 30 minute shows that are funny. They seem to keep my attention unlike longer shows. I'll be interested to check out the new 90210 show because I use to like that one.

I had a Dr. that offered this to me once. I decided that I didn't want the foreign stuff in my body. I hear it works, but it creeps me out.

So wish me luck I just signed up for BOOT CAMP! It starts after the wedding, so I can eat cake, or donuts, or whatever...

And what do you do in boot camp? Do they offer a flip-flop camp? A cozy fluffy slipper camp?

TAKE YOUR MEDS!!!! I know sometimes we migrainers don't treat them by using the meds. HOLLY TAKE YOUR MEDS
I don't have any, that's the problem. I have my preventative stuff that I take daily, but that's it. So for now, it's Excedrin to just keep it to a manageable throb. Finally, after 24 hours, I think it's about gone.

And about mirgraines

I was reading magazine called Woman's Own -

Suzanne Shaw : Botox beat my migraines

The Dancing Of Ice star, 25 tried an unusual approach to treat her headaches.

When Suazanne Shaw began to get throbbing headaches and nausea in 2006, she took drastic action ' I was getting really bad migraines with nosebleeds that came on suddenly', she says.

Her GP suggested Botox, thought to reduce muscle tension that can trigger mirgraines. It sound good, but Suzanne worried about side effects, I had it in my forehead and I thought, "Now apart from once on stage when couldn't frown, her fears weren't realised. And the treatement cured her migraines.

Thanks Deborah, I actually heard about Botox for migraines on the news here, and did check into it a bit, but from what I understand, it's quite expensive and most insurance plans don't cover that as a treatment. Maybe someday though! :goodvibes

Ooooh! Good luck with boot camp! That reminds me that I keep conveniently forgetting to sign up for the one here that I found.

Here's something funny. Remember how Tyler's stepmom got so mad at me when I "refused" to be concerned about the "negative" side effects she and his dad were supposedly seeing from the meds? And she sent me a couple nasty emails that I didn't respond to? And how she's conveniently not there when I drop Tyler off and pick him back up or she rushes out of the room or out the door when I walk in? Well, I haven't seen her in well over a month, I've lost track of how long. Fine with me, but I was sure I'd see her today because I figured she'd definitely come to the karate graduation with his dad. NOPE! He came alone! :rotfl: That woman sure can hold a grudge! It must suck being that unhappy with one's life. ;)

Didn't you find out they are ~ $6 a tablet? That is surely worth getting a few to have on hand even out of pocket. Wasting a day with a migraine has to cost more than that :confused3

I told Wilson I signed up for this and he said, "that doesn't sound like you mom" "are you sure you didn't sign up for the beauty spa boot camp" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I asked him where that was and he said he didn't know, but there was most likely one out there somewhere. He was thinking that I was going away to this camp and was a bit worried :guilty: for me. I told him it was just 3 mornings a week for an hour and he was much relived. He still didn't think I should do it, it doesn't sound like fun. That point I agree ::yes::

Nope, these were almost $300 for 12 pills. But now, when thinking of the price per pill, I'm thinking I'll call the doctor and see if he can just write me a script for 2 pills so I can have them on hand for 1 or 2 migraines for now. :thumbsup2

So, after building Tyler's excitement about going camping all summer and then postponing week after week because his dad & stepmom had trouble coordinating schedules with her sister's family so they could all camp together (her niece and nephew are near Tyler's age and he loves being with them), the sister and family are suddenly moving to Texas. Well, the move isn't sudden, but they bumped up the date for some reason. So since Tyler's dad didn't have to wait for them to be available for camping, he told me 2 weeks ago that this weekend would be the week and asked for an additional day with Tyler to extend their trip all weekend. Not a problem.

So Tyler's excitement level has been building, because they go to the same place whenever they camp, and he absolutely loves going. Well, when I picked Tyler up last Saturday, his dad told me he couldn't get a campsite, so he has to find another place. Um.......he seems to have forgotten that Labor Day weekend is a major camping weekend and campgrounds book up way in advance. Duh! I told him he'd better find something because Tyler's expecting to camp! He said if all else fails, they'll camp in the backyard. Well, OK, that can be fun, but he hadn't let Tyler know of this change, so I broke the news to him. He was a bit bummed, but not too much.

Then the good news, today he emailed me to tell me he was able to get a campsite after all at the original place (maybe they had a cancellation, I don't know), so I told Tyler the good news and he's ecstatic! Then dad tells me this is right next to a camp he went to as a kid from age 7-14 for TWO WEEKS every summer. He says his mom wants to pay to send Tyler there next year right after he turns 7. I appreciate her generosity, and I do understand his dad wanting Tyler to experience something he loved so much, but I just think 7 years old is way too young to be away for 2 weeks, especially a kid who doesn't adapt well to change, and has NEVER been away from both of us overnight at all. I agree that summer camp is such a great experience for kids, but not until he's a bit older, like 9 or 10. Trying to find a nice way to break this to his dad before dad's mom spends the money. I don't want to start an argument because I'm in favor of the idea, just not for a couple more years.

What's the youngest you all have sent kids to summer camp?

OK, I checked out the website and am very pleased (and a bit surprised) to see that it's a Christian camp! :goodvibes And I'm relieved to see that they have a "First Timer" camp that's only one week. BUT, I think I'd insist that Tyler first do either the 3 day "You and Me" camp where one parent comes, or the 4 day Family Camp for his first time. http://www.campwestminster.com/camp_inter.html Then, he'd at least be going to a familiar place next time for the one week First Timer camp. :thumbsup2 Is it reasonable for me to tell his dad that?
