Happy Birthday Ian!

That's exactly it. I make a point of reminding Tyler of that, and when he has a good day or a day that he started to lose control and with a teacher's help was able to pull himself back together, I remind him that he's learning how to control things little by little, etc.

He was awfully grumpy yesterday and the day before, and those are the days that usually he has frequent bouts of total loss of control, but that only happened once in those 2 days. Some incident at school, but when I was picking him up for the med check, I heard the teacher talking to him to tell him how proud she was of him for pulling himself back together and not losing control too much.

Oh! Here's something funny: When I dropped him at his dad's yesterday (of course, I watched as stepmom walked out the back door and into the back yard for whatever reason), as I left, I told Tyler to keep up the good work on having good days, he said, "Yes ma'am" and walked away. I said, "Thank you sir", then his dad and I looked at each other with the same shocked look on our faces. Too funny! I told him I'm glad I was near a chair so I could hold myself up and not faint from shock and that I'm not sure what to do with this new Tyler! He laughed and said, "Well, me either, but as long as this is working, that's fine with me!" Then I told him how I did mention to Tyler that it's like we have a new Tyler with us, and I asked him if he feels like a new Tyler and he says he does. :thumbsup2

I cannot imagine how hard life must have been for him when he wanted to do something and yet his body did something else. Like he was living in a robot that did not follow instructions.

Now his body does what he wants more often. It must be like taking off the robot skin.

We all have bad days. We all have people who just set us off. (Stupidity gets me going every time.) If he did not react to things, if he never had a blow up, we would assume that the robot had taken over and the Tyler was gone.

SO

WELCOME HOME TYLER :cheer2:

The differences between men and women aren't fair! In many areas men have it so much easier (peeing the woods!) But women have many other perks - for example, our hearing is generally better for noticing small changes in sounds.

I work in an industrial plant and its interesting how many behaviours are deeply ingrained. Many guys automatically hold doors open for women and offer to help when its women moving heavy panels around. Those are nice examples. Its not so nice, when there's meeting minutes to be taken and the men automatically hand that job over to women. Of course they use the excuse that their handwriting is too messy to read :lmao:

:rotfl2:

And, women have been multi-tasking since the Garden of Eden

And that is just before lunch :)

I think that giving it a name means they think they invented it.

But it's great entertainment for the rest of us. I often have people laughing at my goofups at work. It's fun!

When they are your friends and you laugh at yourself too, that is one thing and I am with you on that.

But it really bothers me how people in the public eye--politicians, TV and movie stars--have no privacy. If they do something silly, it has to be played over and over and over and over..... Everyone is laughing at them. I think it gets to the point that you have a hard time laughing at yourself.

The repetition of the goof results in a picture being painted of someone that is not the truth. We now think Britany Speers is a bad mother and does not care about her kids, but I bet that is not true.

I'm just glad no one thinks I am important enough to sic the paparazzi or the major networks on me.

http://www.figmentsmedia.net/Main
it's also in the disney weblink awards... http://www.disneylinkswebawards.com/wwwfigmentsmedianet.php

now back to work on this trip report!

Thanks for all the happy birthdays.

My team and the development team surprised me with an ice cream cake this morning, and they had a photo of me projected on our wall all day.

Someone had gotten a hold of the picture of me from the cruise, with the tux and top hat and ears. They cut out Sukie, knocked out the background and had me superimposed in front of Cinderella's castle with fireworks and big words Happy Birthday Ian 8.14

I also got a $50 Caribou Coffee card from my guys.

It was all very nice and I was so very touched.

It is a bit perplexing that the tougher I get and the more horrible the things I say to my young pups the more attached they become to me.

How odd for me of all people to be a father figure to anything breathing on the planet earth.

Could it be the tougher you get and the more horrible things you say, the more they think you respect them enough to be honest with them?:confused3 Or you just have paternal instincts oozing out of you :confused3

Hi Shannon. How are you and where is Ken?

But it's great entertainment for the rest of us. I often have people laughing at my goofups at work. It's fun!

Today at work, I was nicely reclining in my chair while sitting in the weekly plant management meeting, when I decided to lean forward to put my book down and the chair flipped over and I landed on my butt in front of 8 other people.\! Embarassing but humourous. :lmao: Then somebody pointed out that I'm famous for doing that because I did it 2 years ago in the control room! Apparently there's not enough silly things happening that they remember me falling out of a chair 2 years ago!:lmao: :lmao:

I think its horrible when it goes too far, but everybody that goes into those fields knows what they are getting into. I'm amazed at how many people seek it out. Paris Hilton appears to go after it. Every politician has made the same kind of mistakes and people like seeing it because it makes them more real. Bush's verbal mistakes are on a whole different level than the many absurd things Britney's being filmed doing. I hope she is able to turn her life around and do things she can be proud to have her kids see.

its only 90 in the house and its cooling off quickly - I think its just lovely :)

90 is pretty hot inside. How hot is it outside? We are having great weather. 93 during the day and breezy at night so you can open the windows, even though our air is still on right now but that's because we are lazy!
