You're so right about opting for the easy. It's my biggest problem....that drive home when I know I don't want to cook/prepare, it's just easier to pull into a restaurant or worse yet, hit a fast food/pizza place.

The dentist was able to reattach my veneer....it wasn't damaged so thank heaven I didn't have to spring for a new one! BTW, I LOVE my dentist....he's Dr. No Pain. :thumbsup2

Oh....it's Wed....better get out of here and pick up a lottery ticket....do I have enough time to get on the EB if I win tonight??????

.
Great news on your tooth! :goodvibes And good luck with the lottery ticket!

Thanks Jan! I have already sent this along to a few people who REALLY need this message!
When I got that email this morning from somebody at work, I almost sent it to Tyler's dad. He's never been to one karate class because he "can't" leave work early, has never been to occupational therapy one time (which really irritates the OT because he's not there learning all the things we're supposed to be doing to help Tyler) because he "can't" leave work early, and has never been to anything at school that they invite parents to during the day because he "can't" leave work in the middle of the day.

I feel there's no "can't". Anybody can find a way to make it work, at least one time. Tyler would probably be happy if he could attend just one thing a month. :sad2: Yes, I know some employers are very rigid, and some jobs are very demanding, but there's got to be opportunity sometime to do these things.

I really need to learn geography. All this week, I kept seeing news titles on my yahoo page (but didn't bother reading the articles) and couldn't figure out why Russia was able to attack Georgia without the rest of the United States fighting back. Not one of my brighter moments. But.....at least I didn't call Russia "Mussia" like our genius president did! :rotfl: He was trying to say Russia must something or other, but started out "Mussia" and quickly corrected himself. Too late, the whole world caught that, I'm sure! :rotfl2:

I don't think I would repeat this too often Holly . . . :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Yeah, I know! I seriously never learned there was a Georgia over there. That's something I definitely would have remembered learning because it's sure not a name that fits in with the surrounding areas. ;)

Can't keep my eyes open any longer. Goodnight everybody.

Man Bubba . . . you really need to come back on this one - I thought they only picked on me . . .

Actually John, they are refering to Jon, Gaylean's DH. Bubba said he would gain weight after he finished nursing.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

OK all you Californian's and East Coasters . . .

Are these really THAT good, or just the latest hype fad?

Sorry John, I've never heard of these. Sound good though. If I find one in my travels, I will report on them.:thumbsup2

Raining here - again!!! Cold too - again! What a summer.

John is working every day to cover for Andrew our son who is off to Italy today. It is hot there!!!

I will probably go into town soon and go on the Wii this afternoon.

Carol and Doug, not sure if I have seen you on there yet.

Does anyone else have travelling Mii's? I can give you our number - you will recognise John straight away!:lmao:

Marilyn,

Thanks for the birthday greeting.

I don't think I've set up a travelling Mii. PM me your Wii number and I'll PM you ours later (when I'm back from work this evening).

Hi Marilyn,

We are here but Carol forgot to take her internet card for the laptop when we went to California, so was not able to get on the board while we were there. I am back home now and Carol is still in California to help with the grandkids. My ex-Wife passed away a week and a half ago and our daughter has her hands full getting the estate cleaned up.

Anyway Carol will be home on Saturday and she will only be about 40 pages behind.

Ian,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Doug

Will do Ian. I had to have step by step instruction from Carol to make a travelling Mii, but I'm not techy!!!

Have a good birthday.

Hi Jan - not September but November this year

If I forgot to say it, HAVE A GREAT TIME!!

I would love to go to Barcelona and see the Cathedral of the Holy Family. The architecture is amazing and one article I read said they could not finish it when they thought they could because the technology did not exist to create the steeples as the designer wanted them, so it sat for decades.

I'm game - but no cherry or nuts please.

Btw - if Mom doesn't want to come I am in my stateroom by myself :goodvibes (then you can make sure I make it back to the ship & vice versa)

You're OK, its nutmeg, not nuts. Michelle will take your marichino cherry.

It was great! Dumb & Dumber didn't both show up. Apparently she couldn't get off work, so it was just his dad. Yeah, right. I suspect she's either still too mad to be in the same room as me, or she's embarrassed about how she was acting. Don't know, don't care. His dad and I both told the doctor all the improvements we've seen, and I shared what the school has been saying. The Dr. gave Tyler a high five and told him he's proud of him for doing so well. His dad told the Dr. all about his friend's autistic nephew who used to take the same med (at 8 times the dose Tyler takes) and how they switched him to a different type of atypical antipsychotic med, etc. The Dr. told him, "Well, you have to understand that people with autism are much more sensitive to medications and the side effects that don't usually show up in people without autism." And that was the end of that subject. ;)

The Dr. wants to keep him at the same dose, with med checks every month but he'll space them out more if he continues to show good results. Then maybe after another 6 months, he wants to wean him off to see how he does. I wasn't sure about that, but my best friend who is a nurse told me that's common practice for that type of med. She says usually after 6 months of good behavior, they cut the dose back to see if the good behavior continues on its own. Ok, makes sense to me. :thumbsup2

 You just made my day! :cool1:
I am SO GLAD it went SO WELL!! :thumbsup2

Tell Tyler I would give him a high five it I was there too.
:cheer2: :yay: YAH TYLER :yay: :cheer2:

It is not all the medicine's effect, it is the medicine helping him handle it himself. It gets him over the speed bump. Or slows him down so he can think about what he is doing instead of doing it first and getting in trouble. I could not be happier.

I just saw that PJ posted her scrapbook page of John's water ballet experience here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1710064&page=22

.

:rotfl2: Too funny! And also very cool page. I wish I had the creativity to do that!

Jackie -- thanks for posting the link. We missed this so were glad to see the photos.

Here it is for anyone who did not have a chance to follow the link. If you click on the little blue arrow behind PJ's name you get to that thread at that post.

A Great Dad, when they asked for volunteers with only the instructions, "when Minnie arrives head to the gazbo" he jumped right up.

You should talk about it a lot so I can convince Jon to take on a second job :lmao: I didn't do any work on Brooke's birthday. Bubba and Venetia did it all.

OK :yay: If you are OK with it then I am too. If it is part of lobbying for a trip, then keep us talking about it.
I meant you celebrated the work YOU did on her birth DAY.

Venetia and Bubba gave YOU the party.
