Sounds strange to me too. But a couple doctors in the past told me the reason he sleeps so much and falls asleep at odd times is because all the activity going on inside him, the anxiety, the stress of the aggressive acts and being irritable, and the sensory overload everywhere he goes, is physically exhausting. And the med is supposed to reduce some of those things (the aggression, irritability, and anxiety), so the result is that he's not so exhausted all the time. I definitely haven't seen any sleepiness as a side effect, even though it's listed as a common side effect. I also haven't seen the increased appetite that's also supposed to be common with this drug. :thumbsup2

I'll have to remember not to give Ethan that pill. He is eating like a teenager already :scared1: Jon said "Just wait, it gets worse" :scared1: :scared1:

Hi Marilyn. I'm checking in. Today we didn't even get out of our pjs. We made chocolate cupcakes but for some reason they aren't rising like they should. I was thinking of you when I made them because I know you love cake. I'm making chicken enchiladas with green sauce for dinner and that reminds me of Venetia. Now I just need to find someone that reminds me of champagne :lmao:

Seems like when a medication is appropriate for the person, the side effects are not there. When the medication is not the right thing, then there are side effects.

:goodvibes The Concert

When the house lights dimmed and the concert was about to begin, the
mother returned to her seat and discovered that her child was missing.

Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive
Steinway on stage.

To her horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting at the keyboard,
innocently picking out Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved
to the piano and whispered in the boy's ear ... "Don't quit ... Keep
playing."

Then, leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began
filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other
side of the child and he added
a running obbligato.

Together, the old master and the young novice transformed what could
have been a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative
experience.

The audience was so mesmerized that they couldn't recall what else the
great master played. Only the classic; Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

Perhaps that's the way it is with God. What we can accomplish on our own
is hardly noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren't always
graceful flowing music. However, with the hand of the Master, our life's work can truly be
beautiful.

The next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully.
You may hear the voice of the Master whispering in your ear, "Don't quit
... Keep playing!"

May you feel His arms around you and know that His hands are there,
helping you turn your feeble attempts into true masterpieces. Remember, God doesn't seem to call the equipped. Rather...He equips the 'called.'

Life is more accurately measured by the lives you touch than by the
things you acquire. Always remember..."Don't quit...Keep playing."

Oh, that's interesting! :thumbsup2 It will be quite humorous at the first med check. The Dr. told us that only one of us needs to bring Tyler because it will be just a 15-20 min appt. Well, dad & stepmom are both also coming because they want to tell the Dr. about all the negative side effects they think they're seeing. The Dr.'s going to think we're all nuts when I tell him, "Nope, I haven't seen a single side effect."

My day ---> poo

I am wondering if I am ever going to get at least one week without multiple crises everyday and having more stress than I can handle?

I won't bore you all with the details, but much of it stems from continually shifting priorities and colleagues thinking that I am their psychic friend and not giving me all the information I need to plan properly.

In a meeting today, I actually said (to a much stunned ensemble), "I am not you're psychic friend, how am I supposed to know what you have discussed in other meetings if you don't share it with me?"

(This was quickly followed by my saying, "What is it about you that makes me want to shove a chair up your nose?")

Fortunately, we actually all do get along quite well. I had said this to Shalisa's husband, who I also go for coffee with everyday.

I just wonder whether it's possible to be engaged in one's work, feel productive and making a contribution without stress? Or, is that a pipe dream?

Food Find of the Day

For all of my WW pals here, I am going to share my food find of the day (or rather I should say of the past 2 weeks).

I have been asking my meeting members for quite a while whether anyone has an ice cream freezer and has tried WW Smoothie mix in it.

Finally a member did, and reported that she thought it wasn't bad.

A couple of weekends ago I went to Target and bought a Rival ice cream maker. One of those that you stick in the freezer, so salt and ice is not needed.

For the past few nights, I have been making us WW Smoothie Frozen Dessert for dessert.

I have tried the Vanilla and Chocolate. Both are good. I might try the orange cream tonight.

I can't say that it's like ice cream, more sorbet-ish, but 2 packets makes 2 servings that are HUGE.

Having experimented a bit, I found that the following is best:

1 Cup Water
1 Cup Skim Milk
2 Packets WW Smoothie Mix

Mix well until the mix is dissolved (I shake it up in a container). Freeze in ice cream maker until your desired consistency is reached.

This makes about 1 quart of "frozen dessert" which for us is two servings.

2 points per serving

I suppose you could get 4 servings out of it for people who are not impressed by size (like us) and it would be about 1/2 point per serving.

Oh, one more thing ...

As of today Mouse Manager has well over 800 registered users and is now starting to tip the scales towards 900 users.

. . . Your reports make me think I would not have been impressed if we had gotten off the ship and walked around either.
Mrs. Woody did not get off the ship in Acapulco. I did, and was propositioned 14 times.

Woody

Ian, that sounds yummmy....but way to much work for me!:lmao: :lmao:

I should be meandering over to WW tonight and sign up...and I just might! I'm nearly there....hovering on the brink. Mostly, I just don't feel like grocery shopping.:confused3

I got some REALLY GOOD NEWS last night and today and that's all I want to think about right now................

Ian, I love how your sense of humor still shines through even when you're having a lousy day. Sorry you had yet another sucky day.   Sincere hopes for better days ahead.
