We have sunk to a new form of puerile amusement.

We took a walk to the supermarket, and on the way home I used the word "kempt."

Sukie said that wasn't a word, at least not one that anyone used anymore.

We got into the house and I looked up the word kempt on http://www.thefreedictionary.com .

I discovered that you can click on an icon and have it pronounce the word for you.

This is where the puerile amusement comes in, as I kept looking up "questionable" words and having it pronounce them out loud. The hysterics ensued as we fell about the kitchen laughing like two 11 year old boys.

Although that is an insult to the maturity of 11 year old boys which is is probably greater than ours.

You crack me up!

You two are laughing all around the kitchen, and Tyler & I just finished playing a new game we invented - kitchen soccer! Wore Tyler right out!

I'm sad that we can't go, because I'm afraid I'll never get to see you all again.....BUT I'm happy for those of you who ARE going! What a reunion that will be!

I have a feeling we may be able to get some people on a cruise in the Med if they go back in 2010... I'll go definatley

We were all excited for a while when you were thinking of booking, but common sense took over!! Who knows, it is a long time till the cruise and lots can happen. Don't forget 2010 though.




I haven't done any more to mine. I keep thinking about it but need to get some adhesive first and that is what I forget to get!!

It is a great keepsake and I still can't believe Linda did it all for that price.

Oh yes, I remember being that age myself. I loved to sleep half the day in the summer when school was out. My mom would get so mad at me because she'd call and call from work trying to get me out of bed to do something useful!

Bodies change fastest in the baby years and teenage years. Humans sleep most in the same time periods.

We are electing to do a week at WDW and the cruise.

We are electing to do a week at WDW and the cruise.

We are very fortunate that John is old and is retiring slowly!!!

Hopefully we are taking 2 long vacations next year. One will be this one, and what we are planning and hoping for will be a few days at WDW before the cruises, a week after, then 2 weeks in a villa. the flights are so very expensive we thought we would make it worthwhile!!!!

We almost bought a holiday property in Lanzarote(Canary Islands) last year and think we would have spent so much more money on that. We are so glad we didn't go down that route.

And oh, how I miss doing that! I still do it every Saturday when I have the chance.

Tyler asked me nicely to please leave him alone for a while. He's busy playing and apparently I'm not invited to play with him. Well, OK! DIS time for me! We've decided to put lunch off for a bit.

And Tyler decided we can go see the movie another day because he wants to get together with the friends who will call us in a bit.

Well, I've done a bit of cleaning today, and LOTS more of the wonderful scrapbook from Linda. I still have 6 more pages to do, but I needed a break. It takes me much longer to do each page than most because I have to re-read the instructions a bunch of times and look at the picture of her sample a bunch of times. I've never done anything like this, so it's tricky for me, and I'm not particularly enjoying it, but it will look so nice when it's done! Then I'll have to pick which pictures I want on each page. Only thing is, I don't have any pictures of the BBQ because I was too busy EATING!

I bet you could find a picture of Cookies on the PICTURE OF THE DAY 2 thread.

We definitely did! We stopped at Dollar Tree on our way to look for more double-sided tape so I can finish the scrap book. So while we were there, I also had to buy a couple bags of Belly Flops!

Not sure if anybody remembers, but a couple days ago I commented on how I was surprised to see Halloween stuff in the store. Well, today Tyler saw it and he said, "Mom, you're not going to believe what I saw! They have their Halloween things out and it's way too late for that!" I told him he means "too early", but I got the message.

But we had fun and Tyler's been sound asleep for a few minutes.

Well, he and his friend and his friend's sister were more into the video games this time rather than the ones where you can earn tickets. Then when I told him he didn't have enough tickets for much of a prize, I managed to convince him to save them for next time. And he still has tokens leftover, even after giving some to the other 2 kids a few times.
