We probably would have still done an excursion anyway as it was good to get off the ship after being at sea(inc PC) for 4 days. Sounds like it was a safer option to go on an excursion than just walk around.

It doesn't matter where I am - even over here - I hate being approached by vendors/collectors etc when I am out and about.

Harrogate can be a pain. We have groups of those 'charity' collectors who come up all happy chatty to try and get your credit card details. I know charities use them but they are a real nuisance day in and day out. Then there are 3 big Issue sellers. Some are great but others not so good. Even if I buy one I have to fend them all off every day. Sometimes there are other 'market research' folk, some who are valid and some who just try a survey to get your name and email for a timeshare company and you then get phonecalls later telling you you are such a lucky person as you have won a holiday!!!

I'm always polite and smile as I realise they are all trying to earn a living, but it does annoy me that you can't just wander around without being bothered.

Thought I would add that the Big Issue is a newspaper/magazine type weekly publication issued and sole by homeless people in a regulated way. It has helped many people to get off the streets.

How long have charity collectors been going on? Is this new? I only remember people with those plastic containers, usually on the high street, and usually event driven, like poppy day, etc.

They are usually over the top gushy and 'friendly'. They seem to do a different charity each day and wear something to distinguish that. Sometimes there can be 6 or more on the street. Fortunately for us I think we are out of the income group they are looking for most of the time!!!

As promised, here's the easiest, moistest chocolate cake recipe.
Wacky Cake
There are no eggs & no milk in this chocolate wacky cake, and mixing is easy.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon vinegar
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup cold water
Preparation:
In an 8x8-inch pan, mix flour, sugar, cocoa and baking soda. Make three wells in the flour mixture. In one put vanilla; in another the vinegar, and in the third the oil. Pour the cold water over the mixture and stir until moistened. Bake at 350°F. oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until it springs back when touched lightly.
NOTE: if you want to get take the whole cake out of the pan for decorating, don't mix in the pan, mix in a bowl. Line the bottom of the pan with wax paper, and then pour batter into pan.

Yep, Peg has changed her birthday adventure from a trip to Jackson Hole to the Tortola cruise! So the family has been given the info and we'll see who all will show up! Cruising is so much easier for a group vacation, I think. Sister Dianne will be rooming with me and we are getting a verandah stateroom.

I'm so excited that the Sept cruise is no longer a 'maybe' and is a 'done deal'

OK...must go find some dinner. I think I've mookey-fookeyed around too long to call DCL and make the change tonight, so I'll do that tomorrow AM.

Thanks, problem with all this is I don't feel sick, no pain or anything. I was told I have blood in my urine after a yearly physical last week and am now going through a bunch of tests. I haven't seen any and have no pain so don't know what is up.

We were among the did not like Acapulco crowd. We just did not like the "feel" of it. Automatic weapon armed private security guards at the store fronts kind of made us uneasy and it just seemed very crowded and not clean. We did not see that at the other Mexican ports.

I wasn't real fond of Acapulco for the same reason. It didn't make me feel real safe seeing security guards with Automatic weapons everywhere you went. That and our tour guide kept showing this and that resort and telling us how this was mostly a Mexico City resort but they would love to have more American tourists. This was most of his talk. Didn't really learn a whole lot about Acapulco at all.

Sounds strange to me too. But a couple doctors in the past told me the reason he sleeps so much and falls asleep at odd times is because all the activity going on inside him, the anxiety, the stress of the aggressive acts and being irritable, and the sensory overload everywhere he goes, is physically exhausting. And the med is supposed to reduce some of those things (the aggression, irritability, and anxiety), so the result is that he's not so exhausted all the time. I definitely haven't seen any sleepiness as a side effect, even though it's listed as a common side effect. I also haven't seen the increased appetite that's also supposed to be common with this drug.

Holly, keep it up. No matter what Tyler's dad says you are doing a great job and are not crazy and I am sure the doctor will recognize that.

Oh, one more thing ...

As of today Mouse Manager has well over 800 registered users and is now starting to tip the scales towards 900 users.

Funny puppy story (at least to me, not so much to puppy). We were out for our morning walk this morning and as usual Mickey was checking out everything including any hole he could find. He came across one, jumped back and just stared. Then he started rubbing his nose and rolling like crazy. He had discovered a ground bee hole. After that he was more than ready to come in and not venture too far from me. Now he is asleep on my lap. Oh, the life lessons the poor puppy must learn.

Carol - I've had blood in my urine for the last 2 years & have been through a battery of tests.....to find nothing to explain it. Urologist finally said that some people just have blood in their urine. Go figure. No pain for me. Keep us informed.


Holly, keep it up. No matter what Tyler's dad says you are doing a great job and are not crazy and I am sure the doctor will recognize that.

Am going back to the Dr on the 19th to talk about meds & some other issues. Depression has been getting worse over the last month....want to get things back on the up swing again.

Last Sunday I just cried for no reason for about a 1/2 hr (really balled (sp?)) and then this past Friday at work the lead agent came over in the am and asked me if I would issue tickets for the last 1 1/2 hrs of the day and I almost burst out crying then too. Want to bite all my co-workers heads off to. At times like this I really wished I worked from home.
