I don't know about the messages. It's only happened a couple times to me. It happens often to Tyler's dad and he has a different provider than I do. Could be because no cell phones get reception at my mom's house, so maybe that caused the delay, I don't know.

For some reason I was thinking today was Sunday (Thank God it's not)....hoping for tonight then for you ;)

Pictures from tonight after I picked Tyler up. I'd heard that Santa was around with a couple reindeer. Tyler pet the reindeer, but wouldn't feed them. He can't stand the feel of the animal whiskers on his hand and never feeds any at the zoo either. I sure fed the cute reindeer though!

When he told Santa his list, Santa asked, "Can I bring you some of that stuff this year and some next year? Because that's a big list!" :rotfl2: Tyler was fine with that. :thumbsup2 His list included camoflage pajamas and camoflage shirts. Santa said, "Well, then nobody would be able to see you because I see you already have camoflage shoes and coat!" ;)

After the State Christmas tree is lit, we always drive by it whenever we're out after dark (until we get sick of seeing it). This time we stopped for a picture. The tree is quite far in the background because we're standing 2 blocks away from it, and the Capitol building is just behind the tree.

Great pics!! THanks for sharing. Funny seeing a real reindeer.

I'm up for just a tad bit longer....feels so much later than it is. I have been waking up w/ the sun the last 3 days :goodvibes

Our local zoo has real reindeer, so we see them often, but we can't pet the ones in the zoo. I told Tyler the ones at the zoo are the ones that weren't good enough flyers to work for Santa. :rotfl2: I told him the ones we saw today might have been a couple of the real ones, just out on a practice run to get back into shape for Christmas Eve, or they might be backup reindeer who get to work if some of the regulars get sick. ;)

I haven't said anything because I know how hard this must be for you. Especially dealing with all of the mixed feelings. I can only imagine.

I know you are there my friend...

Something did come up the other night at dinner, while we were laughing hysterically ... civet cat coffee.

Are Sukie and I the only people who had never heard of this coffee? And, who on earth got the idea for it?

Does Nescafe make that??

I'm a tea drinker anyway... sorry...

Thanks Holly. Maybe I'll talk to her about this tomorrow over tea at the Grand Floridian (or maybe not). Hope they had a good flight.

Do you still have leftovers?:rotfl:

Awwwwww... you're meeting Marilyn and John tomorrow... Awwwwwwww:flower3:

Well, I think this storm is supposed to be hitting Chicago tonight, so Ian, when you're here tomorrow, please let me know how bad it really is. I'm hoping it's just a bunch of hype about nothing more than a regular snowfall. I think people might just be worrying because it's that first storm of the season. But I suppose I search the garage for my shovel and go buy some salt tomorrow morning. I much prefer shoveling to mowing though, so I'm OK with that! :thumbsup2

Michelle, from Wikipedia:

Kopi Luwak (pronounced [ˈkopi ˈluwak]) or Civet coffee is coffee made from coffee berries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus). The civets eat the berries, but the beans inside pass through their system undigested. This process takes place on the islands of Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi in the Indonesian Archipelago, in the Philippines (where the product is called Kape Alamid) and in East Timor (locally called kafé-laku). Vietnam has a similar type of coffee, called weasel coffee, which is made from coffee berries which have been regurgitated by local weasels. In actuality the "weasel" is just the local version of the Asian Palm Civet.

Deborah - was it you that knew someone with Asperger's Syndrome (or was it Marilyn)?? How did they get diagnosed with it? What can be done to make things easier for that person?

My sister & I have been discussing my nephew Ian and I'm leaning more towards Asperger's. Lisa thinks he has some of the signs of Autism.

Lisa (Disneylover5) - glad you had a good time on the Magic. Can't wait to see pics.

Monica

It is Marilyn's grandson have Asperger's Syndrome.

Speak her when you see her.

Good Morning Deborah, Good Night Michelle, Hi Marilyn....wherever you are....out there having fun!

I finished all my Christmas shopping.....just ordered some stuff on Amazon for me, John, the kid, Tom and Tom's girlfriend in PA Deanna. The rest of the gifting will be all the boys....grands and nephews....in cash. So shopping is done. I'll have to wrap presents when it all gets here. I'll decorate and send cards before leaving in two weeks to go to Parris Island. I'll do my tree when I get back....it has to last until Jan 11th for John's birthday.

Tom gets here on Tuesday. That's just two more days. Life is going to change again. I'm looking forward to it. It's certainly going to be a very busy month.

Hello Deb

I finished all Xmas shopping and all wrapped up, need decoration soon.

All Xmas card - have not start to write yet.

It will be busy month and some Xmas party for childrens had been cancelled due to no money which is great shame.

Today is the last day of the holiday weekend. I hope everyone enjoyed theirs. I mostly caught up on my sleep and started cleaning out my Tivo. I had only 60% available. That's a lot of recordings.

John has been watching Christmas movies on TV all weekend and he's getting into the Christmas spirit. Grumpy softens.....hahaha. He can get very sentimental from watching them all. He loves them.

It's football day today. I've been waiting for it all weekend. I had football on Thursday, then none Friday and Saturday and now finally again today. GO GIANTS!

It is a very busy time of the year isn't it. It's fun and festive though.

Sorry about the cancellations of the kids Christmas parties. That's so unfair for them, it is sad. But I guess everyone has to cut back. I know I did. I spent less on gifts this year than I did last year.

At least we can do all the things that don't cost much money....like decorating and cards and cooking a nice meal. My mom would always say that as long as we were together, that's all that mattered.:cutie:

Good Morning All Holiday Shoppers (and Nan)!

I will be leaving shortly to lead my 3 WW meetings. I wish I could have slept in today.

This afternoon I have to write performance evaluations. I should have done those on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I guess today is the day to pay the piper for my sitting and doing nothing since Friday (though I needed the rest).

It seems like everyone is starting to get ready for Christmas.

From what you can see at Eastwood Manor, you would never even know there's a holiday in December.
