Ian, Olivia and I love Rugby (better than football) :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ian love Football more

We all are watching now

Wales team got black and blue eye by two teams bumped each together

ouch

Scottishwee35
Ouch!

Well, enjoy the game! I'm going to take a shower and go grocery shopping. Tyler has 2 friends coming over to play when he gets home from his dad's and I want to make sure I have plenty if they want to eat supper with us or if they want snacks later. :goodvibes Tyler's been excited for a whole week, just waiting for today, knowing they're coming over. He asked me last night on the way back to his dad's to call and make sure they're still coming. ;)

Holly

I think it is good thing that Tyler is happy about it.

Scottishwee35
Me too! He's been wanting a brother or sister for a few years. He told all our friends at the parade last night (and that's how I found out), and my mom told me the stepmom told her too when my mom picked Tyler up for the parade. At the parade, Tyler's buddy said, "Tyler, I'll teach you everything you need to know about being a big brother". :rotfl: It was very cute! :thumbsup2 So I'm trying very hard to only focus on his excitement and how happy he is about this.

I think he just doesn't want to accept the fact that Tyler has special needs. He thinks Tyler does these things to get attention. You won't believe what he said about the other school, I haven't mentioned it here because it's too shocking and offensive, so forgive me, I'm just repeating what he said. He said "I'm not putting my son in a class full of retards". I was so mad that he could be so ignorant and mean. :sad2:

Well tell him that nobody is perfect. I think Tyler need special needs to help him out. When I find out that my son Keith got the dyparaxia and top doctor label him special need on the list. I was upset because I have daughter is deaf then I find out about Keith.

Ignore him what he had been saying to you.

I am sure that another school will help him out and control him better.

Tyler is a lovely boy and he is bright too I don't think another school will affect him maybe he will change lot better in future.

Thanks Deborah. That's exactly it, the new school is trained to control kids like him, so they won't have to call us to pick him up. His current school is going to arrange a time for his dad and me to visit the classroom at the new school. I hope his dad will go look at it with me because then he might see it's not bad like he thinks. Seeing it might change his mind. Fingers crossed!

OK, dishes are done, now I'm really leaving! I still haven't showered yet. :scared1: It's been nice talking with you today Deborah, enjoy the rest of the game!

Yes, I'm still here, wasting time. :rotfl2: Haven't gone grocery shopping yet, will soon but first I wanted to share what was on our local news last night. It's just a short video clip talking about the parade. It will make Gaylean shiver with the thought of the cold. It was in the low 20sF for the parade. ;) Over 120,000 people were there! http://www.wilx.com/news/headlines/34916099.html

Hi Holly, I hope it all works out for you and Tyler about his new sibling and new school.

Deborah, it sounds like you're enjoying your new tv. I watch football every sunday all day and night long. I love it when it's football season. Hope your teams win.

Nan, have an excellent weekend away with Paul and enjoy your anniversary celebration! Cheers! May there be much rum involved!

Ian, sounds like you have accomplished quite a lot with your team coming in ahead of schedule with your project. That's gotta feel good. Congratulations! Now you can focus on Turkey Day dinner and you know we want full details with pictures. Let the preparations begin!

Lisa, have a great Turkey Day cruise. Think of us while you're out to sea.

Morning Michelle and Good Afternoon Marilyn. Hope you're both spiffy today.

Michelle, did you get rid of that pebble yet or are you still drinking lime juice.

Marilyn, are you all packed yet. How soon before you take off.

WHERE IS MONICA?

Gaylean and Jackie, who is going to reach 10,000 first???

How are you feeling this morning Ian?

I feel a bit better today. Not quite as bad as yesterday. I wonder if I did have a bug and it was not the meds? I had a very good night's sleep, and my stomach is better today. I don't feel quite as achy.

On the plus side, no cigarette smoke since I started these meds. What a bizarre thing to be having anyway.

Sukie and I took off early, at about 8:30 AM to embark on our shopping.

We had to go to a farmer's market for the pick up of our heritage turkey. It was a bit funny getting a turkey out of the back of a van, and handing over the reminder of the money.

It was the farmer's wife. She was very nice. The turkey was a tad bigger than the one I ordered. It is 14lbs. It's now safely in the fridge in the basement. From what I can tell, it looks a bit different than the turkeys I've bought before. The skin seems a bit darker.

Sukie was just plain horrified by it all.

We also went to the supermarket and produce store. This has probably been the most organized and easiest Thanksgiving shopping we've had in many years.

I might start some of the cooking and prep today. Roasting pecans for the brussel sprouts and perhaps making the cranberry sauce.

When we remodeled the kitchen, we put the old fridge in the basement. It is a life saver having the two refrigerators and 3 freezers, counting in our little chest freeze.

I start cooking in ernest tomorrow.

I also finished everything I needed to get ready for my WW meetings tomorrow, so the rest of the day I can just relax.

Sukie has been hard at work on his column for the week. He's writing about a new line of perfumes and colognes that Joe the Plumber is coming out with as a signature line. I don't think I can say here what Sukie says is the name of the line of scent.

That looks such fun to go to Holly!!!

Michelle's mother wants to go to Leningrad?

I'm sure I read that somewhere.

Glad you are feeling better today Ian and managed to get some of your important shopping done.

Who is Joe the Plumber?

Deb, we set off for the airport hotel on Friday and fly next Saturday!!! This time next week hopefully we shouldn't be far off landing.

Who is Joe the Plumber?

Hmmm ... I wonder if I'm capable of answering this politely.

Joe the Plumber is a guy in Ohio who John McCain kept trotting out as his "every man", who had said that Obama's new tax plan would hurt him and prevent him from buying a plumbing business.

Somewhere admits all of the puffery, the truth became, shall we say, "an interesting notion."

- Joe the plumber made 45K a year, and would not be hurt by the tax plan but helped by it.

- Joe the plumber was not a licensed plumber

- Joe the plumber had a lien slapped against him for owing taxes

- McCain trotted Joe the Plumber out every moment he could

- Joe the plumber hired a PR agent and wants to be a country western singer

- Joe the plumber now also wants to be a congressman

- Ian the QA Manager wants to be a fireman, fly a rocket to the moon, invent a time machine, and shoot sparklers out of his butt,

(Damn! -I knew I couldn't respond politely!)

I get the drift!!!:lmao:

Ian, I'm glad you're feeling better today and that you've got a nice start on your holiday preparations. :goodvibes At first, I mistakenly read "14 lbs" as "41 lbs" and was shocked! :scared1: :rotfl2: Had to go back and read it again!

How did Sukie's article on Prop 8 turn out? Are his articles available online? I suspect I'd get a laugh or two about Joe the Plumber's scents. :rotfl:

That looks such fun to go to Holly!!!
It really is! It's a holiday tradition around here. People come from all over Michigan to see the parade and the lighting of the State Christmas tree. I'm glad Tyler finally got to experience it. He LOVED it, and thought it was hilarious to see fireworks when it's snowing! He told me he wants to ask his dad if he can go with me and my mom every year from now on. :goodvibes When I dropped him off and thanked them for giving up their Friday with Tyler so he could go, stepmom told me she's glad I took him because she'd never want to stand out in those cold temps and his dad thinks it's crazy too, but they were really happy to see how excited Tyler was when he was telling them all about it. Such a wonderful time! :thumbsup2

Oh Ian, as soon as I read Marilyn's question, I just knew I'd love your answer! :rotfl:

Since I slept so long today, I haven't eaten yet and it's 3:30pm! So I suppose I'll go eat a late lunch before I get busy and forget. Can't wait to pick up Tyler and have his friends over to play. I always forget to take pictures when friends come over, and hope to remember to take some today. I don't really want to record the mess they'll surely make with their excited play, but will be good to look back on the fun. :goodvibes And besides, that will just give Tyler more to clean next time he's sent home from school early. ;)

You know, I've been thinking some more about Tyler's future new brother or sister. I've actually been thinking all last night and all day today. Trying to figure out how I feel about it. I've come to the conclusion that I'm actually hesitantly excited because I can't help wondering if it will look like Tyler and if so, how much will it look like him. And how cool to see another child that's actually part of Tyler too, but without me having to go through the whole exhausting baby stage that I didn't care much for. ;) Who knows, I might actually come to enjoy this child, seeing as how often I'm over at their house.

I think I've just been trying to mentally prepare myself for telling the new mom-to-be and dad congratulations, and wanting to be sincere with my good wishes. :goodvibes

You know, you really are a special person and Tyler is so blessed to have you!!!

Nope, I'm just trying to plug away at life like everybody else. And it's me who is blessed to have Tyler. :lovestruc One look at that toothless blue eyed face certainly melts my heart and reminds me what's important in life! :lovestruc

I suspect his dad and stepmom may have been nervous to tell me, so I think the moment I walk into their house today, I'll just get that over with and say, "I forgot to mention last night, but I hear congratulations are in order" or something like that. :thumbsup2

Not everyone would move to be near their child's father just so they could keep in contact, and that is just one thing that makes you different.
